Annabeth's POV

I couldn't move.

I couldn't breathe.

I wondered if my heart would stop beating like him. I faintly heard Apollo campers next to us, yelling. I knew that the warmth in his body would soon be gone.

And I never told him I loved him.

"No..." I breathed.
This wasn't right. We were supposed to live a long happy life.

Us together.

"No."

I sank to the ground. He had died right in front of me. This couldn't of happened. People bustled around him, and I heard a zapping sound.

Electricty.

Yes! He could live again. Who was he. He was the Commander of the Chaos army. He was Omega.

"Please, please, please." I pleaded to the sky, holding his hand. I wished for the blood to flow- his heart to beat like it did before.

"Please." I sobbed. "I'm sorry."
"Stand back!"
I dropped his hand, and his body jerked once as the electricty flowed through him. He was still.

No.

You couldn't leave me here like everyone did.

You can't do this to me.

His body jerked once more. He was as still as death.

It's unfair.

It was the last, and the crowd around us started whispering. I rested my head on his chest, but it was shockingly silent. I sobbed, knowing that the blood flowing out of his wounds would run cold and stale, and all that would be left was a cold body, and he would go and join Percy.

"You can't do this to me." I said between sobs. "You can't leave me."

Thump.

Was it real?

A beating sound, like a drum echoed from a deep part from his body. I could feel his warm, soft and worn out hand stroke my hair.

"Don't worry." he whispered, so only I could hear. "I won't."

~

"I agree with Victor."

"Frank, I know that we need as much help we need, but Omega needs a break. We can't have him fighting in this state." Jason said.
"He will heal." Ethan said.
"What do you think Annabeth?"
I stared at Victor who had just asked me the question. Everyone stared at me, waiting for me to make my choice. I took a deep breath.

"He should go back. It's only for a while, and he should be free from Tartarus for a while. I- we don't want him getting any more hurt. His life has been stressful enough."

"But you're here."

my cheeks turned red. "B- but we're not even-"
"Say that after crying like Misery when he nearly died."
"Thats why Annabeth has another choice. She can come with us."
I looked at Victor in suprise. "Really?"
He nodded.
"I'll go." I said quickly.
A few councilers muttered and nodded their heads.
"Raise your hand if you oppose."
Nobody did, and l let out a long breath.
"We'll leave tommorrow morning."
The councilers filed out, and Piper nudged me when she saw Brandon waiting for me. He smiled when he saw me.
"Come on. I want to talk to you."

~

We walked in an awkward silence along the beach.

"The stars are beautiful tonight."
His light brown hair glinted in the moonlight. His blue eyes looked down at me kindly.
"I understand." he said arubtly. "After meeting you for a few days, I know that you are a wonderful person- really, but I think you're not the one for me." he said, looking down. "And I know you like Omega."
I looked down. "I'm really sorry-"
"No." he cut off. "I think you would look good with him. He needs you- as much as you need him. Tell him. You're sure he likes you. Why hesitate?"
I bit my lip. "Thank you." he words were hard to force out.
His smile was sad. "He's very lucky. To win your love."
"Oh gods- I'm so-"
"Go. Tell him."
"You're sure you're not a son of Aphrodite?"
his laugh was good to hear. "I'm sure."
I smiled at him. "Goodbye. And thank you."
He nodded. "Good night."
I ran to the infirmary, where Omega always was. Nobody was there, except for Omega. His chest moved up and down softly, comforting me. I sat down on the stool, and held his hand.

"I was really confused." I confessed. "I wanted to love Percy, but after my feelings built up, I didn't know how to love you." I sighed. "Thats why I met that jerk Jacob, and tried to meet Brandon and just left him brokenhearted. But I think I found a way." I smiled and looked down to see his beautiful sea green eyes open.

"I love you."

The silence between was spent admiring each other.
"I won." he said in a hoarse voice.
"I know." I laughed, kissing him on the cheek.
"You're mine now." He said, hugging me close and kissing me lightly everywhere.
Giggling, I half tried to pull away. Gods- it felt so good being loved.
"I'm yours." I agreed. "And you're mine. So don't go anywhere without me."

"I promise." he said, buring his head in my hair. I cuddled close to him, not trying to push my feelings away now.

"I love you."

~

"So you two are dating."

"Yes."
"Yesterday night."
I nodded, and Piper squealed. "Finally!"
"Hey!" she called. "Omega and Annabeth started dating!"
Silena stumbled out of the bathroom, a toothbrush in her mouth. "Really!?"
I nodded, smiling.
Beckendorf stuck his head in the pink dollhouse. "Silena?"
"Charlie! Omega and Annabeth are dating!"
He smiled at me. "Thats great. Congrats."
Omega stuck in his head too, next to Beckendorf. He was in his unmasked form, and a Aphrodite girl dropped her makeup on the floor.
"Whoah." Silena breathed.
He scratched the back of his head. "Uh.... I came for Annabeth..."
Beckendorf frowned. "Who-"
"I'm coming. Is Victor waiting?"
He nodded.
It seemed to dawn on Beckendorf and Silena.
"Commander?"
"Oh. It's the first time seeing me in this form, right?"
Silena nodded slowly, not able to tear her eyes off my boyfriend.

My boyfriend.

"Eyes off Silena." I joked. "He's mine."
"But look at him! He's hot!" She said, half pouting.
"Hey!" Beckendorf said.
"Sorry Charlie." she said, waving her hand.
"Uh.... I never asked, but how old are you?" Beckendorf asked.
He shrugged. "Younger than you by a few years. Same age as Annabeth."
He looked suprised. "You're younger than I thought."
Omega nodded. "Annabeth?"
"Coming!"
I hauled my suitcase out of the cabin.
"Is it okay for you to be outside?"
he rolled his eyes, smiling. "I'm fine."
I snorted. "You look good for a person who died and came back."
"I know." he agreed. "I look awesome."
I laughed and shook my head at him. I saw Victor waiting, arms crossed and talking to Reyna. He smiled, but it dissapeared as quickly as it appeared. Reyna looked dazed.
"Hey."
Victor stared at us loftily. "You're late."
"Sorry."
"You just had to make him go all the way to the Athena cabin."
"Actually, she was at the Aphrodite cabin."
"Oh, so you had to make him go to the Athena cabin and the Aphrodite cabin. I swear you're going to kill him one day."
I scowled. "Well-"
"Victor." Omega cut in. "It's not her fault."
He glared at Omega. "You should atleast try to take care of yourself."
Omega shrugged and dropped a glass ball on the floor, and stepped on it, crushing it. A portal formed about a foot in front of him. He looked at me.
"Ladies first."
I shook my head, smiling. "Okay."
I stepped into the portal and tried to enjoy the swirling feeling now that I had Omega by my side.

~

After we arrived and I had unpacked, I went to see him.

I didn't see him in his room, so I went out and asked a random soldier. She looked at me weirdly like it was weird looking for him. She said she didn't know. I pursed my lips. I went to Victor's room, and saw them talking. I stopped, but I couldn't help but hear.
"You sure you'll be okay?"
Omega didn't say anything.
"Maybe you should just step back."
he shook his head. "What about Luke?"
"Why do you care?"
He sighed. "I can't help it."
Victor scowled. "Anyway, don't forget taking your medicine. Make sure you don't overexert yourself, and try not to go back to your normal duties suddenly. And don't train unless it's needed."
"But I have nothing to do."
"Spend time with Annabeth. It'll be good. You can take her out to see the city."
"Do you think it'll be okay?"
"Course. You two would look like any normal couple."
"A normal couple..." he mused. "I wished that was true."
Why weren't we normal?
"I want to make Annabeth happy. I just don't know how."
"Make me happy first by taking care of yourself." Victor snapped. "I've been doing this over 1000 years and I'm getting tired of this."
"I know."
Victor's shoulders fell. "Hey. You know-"
Not wanting to eavesdrop any longer, I went in the room smiling like I never heard anything.
"I was looking for you."
He smiled despite the things they talked about. It flattered me, but not exactly happy.
"Come on. I wanted to take you around the city."

~

In his unmasked form, nobody seemed to realize it was him.

I loved it.

We really felt like a real couple, hands intwined and close enough to feel our shoulders brushing. We settled on a little restaurant and stood in line, talking to each other, and everything was peaceful before this guy butted in line.
"Hey. We were here first."
He acted like he didn't here me. I tapped him on the shoulder, and he turned around, irritated.
"What?"
"You just cut. In line."
"So what?"
I huffed, irritated. "So what?! Then how would you like-"
"Annabeth." Omega cut in calmly. He stared at the man cooly. "We were here first, and the end of the line is there."
"The line isn't even long. I'm busy."
"Then you can go to the end and wait." I cut in.
He snorted. "Your boyfriend?"
"Yeah. Got a problem?"
"Well, tell your girl to back off."
Omega put his hands up. "Look. We need-"
Suddenly, a knife was out. He had slashed a long cut across his arms. Omega didn't even flinch, but narrowed his eyes. People gasped.

"I thought no weapons were allowed in the city."

His voice was steely calm, but I could hear the anger edging it.
"Unless you are a soldier." the man said.
"A soldier...." Omega mused.
"You're a soldier and you are cutting in line? Seriously?"
He had slashed the dagger, and I had put my arms up so my face wouldn't be scared. Stunned, I was frozen.
A few people came and pressed napkins on the cut. Omega came over and fretted, trying to stop the bleeding.

Okay. Now he was really mad.

He grasped his hand and disarmed the man easily.
"I think it's against the law to actually use the weapon."
He blinked. "Who-" He scowled. "Well I think it's a crime to steal weapons."
"That wasn't stealing!" I protested.
Blood dripped from his arms. The man was strong too. People were calling the police. The man broke out of his grip and punched him in the face. They started fighting, and I tried to pull Omega back with the others. The police came, and they were finally put apart. Unfortuantly, we had to go to the police station with the man, who was cursing the whole time we went. Omega was silent now, and had his hands in his lap, looking down. The man was complaining that he couldn't agree.
"So." the officer twirled her pen between her fingers. "You're Jeremy. And you're... Omega?"
He nodded, and the man fell silent and glared at him.
"So-"
Suddenly, everyone stood up. I look back at the door to see Chaos and Victor, only Victor obviously not in a good mood. The man stood up and stared at Chaos in awe. Omega just sat there, looking at the table.
"I never knew you were hotheaded enough to start a fight." Chaos said, his eyes sparkling.
"Actually, I started it." I said sheepishly.
Victor grabbed Omega's arms. They had stopped bleeding, but I could see they were pretty deep.
"You just had to go out and get yourself hurt."
He stood up arubtly, suprising Victor.
"Can l go now?"
He was more of asking Chaos than the police. Chaos's black cloak fluttered.
"Well, you have gotten yourself in a fight."
"It's not his fault." I protested. "He took out a weapon first. And used it. Omega just disarmed him and he punched him in the face."
"Thanks for tattletaling." the man muttered.
Chaos frowned. "Really?" he faced the man. "Is that true?"
"Well I just-"
"Is that true?"
He looked down. "Kinda. If you see in a type of way."
Chaos looked amused. "And you still don't know who he is."
"Uh..... No?"
Chaos glanced at Omega, but he didn't do anything. He sighed.
"Omega?"
he pursed his lips. "You know.... It's hot, and it's uncomfortable, and-"
"Just do it."
Sighing, his form shimmered and turned into his masked form. He grumbled and took off his cloak. The man stuttered and looked like he was somewhere between fainting and bowing. The officers started talking among themselfs. "Can I go?"
The man stuttered and nodded.
I entwined my arm in his and pulled him out with Chaos and Victor following. We stopped outside the building.
"Omega." Chaos scolded. "I thought you were having a normal day off."

He looked at the ground and muttered something about being sorry.

Chaos smiled a little. "You did the right thing. Atleast you're not hurt. Much." The look in his eyes changed. "Victor doesn't have to worry much."
It unsettled me. Omega had turned into his unmasked form, and pecked me on the cheek.
"Did you get the cuts on top of the burn?"
I glanced at it. "Yeah."
His eyebrows furrowed like Percy when he was worried. "You should get that looked up by Victor."
I rolled my eyes. "Look in front of you when you are walking."
His hand slipped down to mine and grasped it tightly.

"It's nice to know I have one more person on my side."
