The One With Rebekah's Story

Emily immediately found herself frowning when she opened the front door to the Salvatore boarding house and she could hear upbeat music that she would usually hear at a bonfire party in the woods. The Radkova witch was even more puzzled when she found a smiling Rebekah pouring herself a glass of champagne in the foyer.

Emily was honestly expecting an anxious vampire pacing and waiting to talk about her childhood drama, not whatever this was with Rebekah smiling away without a care in the world.

The original vampire released a cheerful squeal when she took notice of her brother's doppelganger. "Hey!" Rebekah exclaimed as she greeted the brunette girl before she asked, "what's up?"

Emily's frown deepened as she stared across at the original vampire. Wasn't it obvious why she was here? The Radkova witch was utterly puzzled as to how Rebekah could do a complete 180 from their conversation on the football field.

"You invited me over," Emily slowly murmured as she reminded the blonde vampire, "you know, to talk."

Rebekah's blue eyes widened as a grin took over her face. "Right!" The original vampire exclaimed before she turned to face the entranceway that connected the foyer and the living room together. "Girls! Have at it!" Rebekah called out.

Emily could only stare in confusion as she watched six of her fellow classmates walk into the foyer wearing a series of different colored dresses.

Rebekah excitedly clapped her hands together as she stared at the six girls. "Okay," the blonde vampire murmured before she instructed the humans, "now twirl for me, please."

Emily couldn't help but watch in disbelief as her fellow classmates did a perfect turn to show off each detail of their dresses as if they were experienced models on a runway.

The Radkova witch looked over to Rebekah with her right eyebrow raised. "Did you discover America's Next Top Model on TV and you decided to recreate it?" Emily asked as she tried to understand what was going on right now.

Rebekah furrowed her brows in confusion as she had no idea what her brother's doppelganger was talking about before she shook her head. "I'm in a need of a homecoming dress," Rebekah explained.

The original vampire walked over to stand in front of the six girls before she turned to face Emily with a wide grin spread across her pink tinted lips. "So, what do you think?" Rebekah asked the Radkova witch. "I quite like your style," Rebekah admitted before she told the brunette girl, "pick the one you think will fit me best."

Emily rolled her green eyes as she stared across at the original vampire. "We aren't doing this," Emily muttered as she wagged her index fingers towards the six compelled girls. "We aren't friends. I'm not here to have a girls day with you," Emily told the blonde vampire. "I'm here to talk about Mikael," the Radkova witch proclaimed.

Rebekah stared back at her brother's doppelganger with a small smile before she used her enhanced speed to move behind Lucy, the girl in the blue dress. Rebekah grabbed the human girl by her neck before she released her fangs from her mouth. "I said pick one, Emily," the original vampire snarled.

A glare quickly took over the Radkova witch's face as Rebekah threatened the life of the innocent girl. "Let her go now," Emily ordered as she conjured a thick icicle from the palm of her hand.

Rebekah widely smirked across at the Radkova witch. "You have so much power about you," the original vampire mused before she tsked, "it's too bad you refused to join the right side. We could have so much fun together."

Emily tightened her fingers around the icicle as she chose to ignore the vampire's comment. "Rebekah," the Radkova witch warned before she ordered once more, "let Lucy go."

Rebekah clicked her tongue against her teeth as she tightened her hold on the human girl's neck. "Us originals don't like to be told what to do," Rebekah murmured before she moved her mouth down to Lucy's neck.

"Wait!" The Radkova witch hurriedly called out before Rebekah had the chance to hurt the innocent girl. "The green one!" Emily shouted, "pick the green one!"

Emily would have liked to use her magic ability to her advantage by using the icicle against the original vampire but Emily just didn't want to take the chance of hurting any of the compelled girls, especially when Rebekah was standing directly behind Lucy. The Radkova witch figured giving Rebekah what she wanted was the best option.

"There," Rebekah cooed as she softly ran her fingers down the side of the shaking girl's neck. The original vampire looked over to Emily with a wide smirk. "Nice choice by the way," Rebekah murmured before she stated, "I thought it was the perfect one, too."

Rebekah walked around Lucy before she moved to stand in front of the six girls. "Go away," the original vampire compelled, "remember nothing."

The Radkova witch stood there tensely as she watched Rebekah pick up her glass of champagne before she moved to stand in front of her. Emily honestly had no idea what the original vampire was going to do her after she challenged her.

Rebekah smirked as she grasped the icicle from the Radkova witch's hand before she tightly squeezed her fingers around it until it shattered and fell to the floor. "You do not threaten me, you understand?" Rebekah ordered as she pointed her index finger at Emily before she exclaimed, "you'll learn what I allow you to learn."

Emily didn't back down as she glared across at the original vampire. "I'm not just going to let you control me like some lap dog," the Radkova witch snapped.

The original vampire chuckled as she stared at Emily in amusement. "You're lucky my brother needs you or you just might not be standing right now," Rebekah murmured.

Emily rolled her green eyes before she swiftly felt the electricity of her magic flow strongly through her body. The Radkova witch knew there was a threatening blue current displayed across her body by the way Rebekah was staring at her figure in amazement.

Emily let fire lift through her left palm and an icicle from her right one before she looked at the original vampire with her left eyebrow raised. "How about we call it even and talk?" The Radkova witch offered.

Rebekah widely smirked as she stared at Emily and her magic abilities with a sense of curiousness. "Deal," the original vampire murmured before she waved her hand, "now, come along."

Emily took a deep breath as she hid her powers back into her body. The Radkova witch felt a little jittery as she watched Rebekah head up the staircase.

Emily knew she was playing a dangerous game by constantly back-talking and challenging the original vampire. The Radkova witch knew Rebekah could easily hurt her and heal her without Klaus ever knowing if she really wanted to.

However, Emily refused to be pawn for the blonde vampire to play with. Emily knew she had to stand her ground with Rebekah or she may never get the answers she needed to get rid of the original hybrid for good.

The Radkova witch took another deep breath to get control of her emotions before Emily silently headed up the stairs to follow after the original like Rebekah had requested.

Emily stayed a few steps away from the original vampire as she watched Rebekah curiously explore the upstairs portion of the Salvatore boarding house. The Radkova witch quickly grew tense, though, when Rebekah pushed open the door to the room that Emily once shared with Stefan.

"How fun is this?" Rebekah giggled as she excitedly skipped and hopped around the younger Salvatore's bedroom.

Emily had to forcefully dig her fingers into her palms to stop herself from yelling at the original vampire when Rebekah began opening drawers and snooping around Stefan's room.

Instead, Emily calmly suggested, "how about we go back downstairs?" The Radkova witch carelessly shrugged her shoulders before she muttered, "I'm sure there's more interesting stuff down there."

Rebekah giggled as she glanced over to the young witch standing in the doorway. "This is way more interesting than exploring the study," the original vampire exclaimed. "Come on," Rebekah murmured with a pout. "Aren't you little bit curious about what Stefan hides from you in his room?" Rebekah asked as she lifted her right eyebrow.

Emily crossed her arms over her chest before she shook her head. "I lived in this room," Emily told the original vampire. "I know every inch of this place," the Radkova witch muttered. "There is no hidden secrets," Emily stated before she shrugged her shoulders, "it's just a room with clothes and books and furniture."

Rebekah released a loud whine as she tossed herself onto the large bed. "I thought you were the fun doppelganger!" Rebekah grumbled before she turned on her side to stare at the Radkova witch, who had a serious expression glued to her face.

The original vampire huffed once she realized that Emily wasn't going to entertain her idea of snooping around Stefan's room. "Alright, fine," Rebekah muttered before she patted the empty spot on the bed beside her. "What do you want to know?" The blonde vampire inquired.

Emily released a silent breath of relief that the original was finally going to tell her something that could potentially help her. The Radkova witch stepped further into Stefan's bedroom before she walked over to the bed that she once shared with the green eyed Salvatore.

"Elijah once told me that your father was a landowner in Europe," Emily brought up before she curiously asked, "how did you guys end up here in Mystic Falls?"

Rebekah released a heavy sigh as she relaxed back against the soft pillows. "My parents had just started a family when a plague struck their homeland," Rebekah murmured before a frown took over her face. "They lost a child to it," the blonde vampire stated, "so, they wanted to escape and protect their future family from the same fate."

Emily's green eyes softened when Rebekah mentioned the death of her older sibling. However, Emily had to remind herself that was just how it was back in the day when there were no hospitals or medications available.

"Your family left Europe and found a home here," Emily murmured as she took in Rebekah's story before a puzzled look took over her face. "How did they even find this place?" Emily wondered. "This part of the world wouldn't have been discovered during that time," the Radkova witch mentioned.

Rebekah smirked as she nodded her head. "Correct," the blonde vampire murmured. "My mother knew this witch, Ayana, who heard from the spirits of a mystical land where everyone was healthy... blessed by the gifts of speed and strength," Rebekah recalled before she stated, "that led my family here, where we lived amongst those people."

"You mean the werewolves?" Emily inquired.

Rebekah nodded her head once more. "To us, they were just our neighbors," the original vampire murmured as she lightly shrugged her shoulders. "My family lived in peace with them for over twenty years, during which time my family had more children, including me," Rebekah stated with a small smile rising onto her pink tinted lips.

"What happened after those twenty years?" The Radkova witch curiously asked, "what stopped your family from living in peace with the werewolves?"

Rebekah released a heavy sigh as she thought back to that moment in time. "It was a mere accident on the night of a full moon," Rebekah began.

"Once a month, our family would retreat into the caves beneath our village while the werewolves would transform into wolves and be free until morning," the blonde vampire murmured as a deep frown took over her face.

"My brothers were always so curious about the humans who turned into beasts for one night," Rebekah recalled before she shook her head. "Klaus was the worst one of them all. He always wanted to see it happen in person and one night, he finally did," Rebekah stated. "My youngest brother, Henrik, was just as curious as Klaus and they snuck out together when our parents weren't paying attention," the blonde vampire murmured.

"Our family always said it was forbidden to go into the village during the full moon," Rebekah uttered, "and they should have listened to him." A sadness quickly took over Rebekah's face as she whispered, "Henrik paid the price with his life."

Emily's green eyes widened in surprise. "Oh..." The Radkova witch softly murmured, "I'm so sorry."

Emily's heart honestly went out to Rebekah, despite the fact that she wasn't a fan of the original vampire. The Radkova witch knew the pain of losing a sibling -- even for a short while. Emily knew it had to be such a heartbreaking experience when Rebekah's family couldn't do anything to save him.

Rebekah ignored the Radkova witch's condolences as she looked at Emily with a tiny smile. "That was the beginning of the end of peace with our neighbors," Rebekah murmured, "and one of the last moments my family had together as humans."

Emily couldn't help but stare at Rebekah with sadness in her green eyes. It was a sad story to hear. Rebekah was no saint but Emily would never wish it on her worse enemy to have to go through the loss of a family member.

The Radkova witch and the original vampire silently stared across at one another as if they had come to understand each other before the moment was swiftly interrupted by the sound of Emily's cell phone ringing in her back pocket.

Rebekah was pulled out of her trance as she quickly jumped off of Stefan's bed. "You better get that," Rebekah told the Radkova witch before she muttered, "I'm sure it's that annoying sister of yours."

Emily rolled her green eyes as she pulled out her cell phone from her pocket. Emily shot a glance over to the blonde vampire when she saw Elena was actually calling her.

The Radkova witch walked out into the hallway before she accepted the phone call. "Hey, Lena," Emily murmured as she greeted her twin sister once she brought the device up to her ear.

"Hey!" Elena shouted through the phone.

Emily quickly frowned when she could barely hear her twin sister over the sound of loud music playing in the background. "Where are you?" The Radkova witch asked in confusion.

"Um... somewhere," Elena nervously mumbled before Damon quickly snatched her phone from her hand before she could try to lie her way out of the conversation just like Damon knew his girlfriend was going to do.

"Princess!" The older Salvatore loudly greeted the Radkova witch over the phone. "I guess Barbie Klaus hasn't killed you yet," Damon teasingly murmured.

Emily lightly chuckled as she leaned up against the wall in the hallway. "Nope," Emily muttered, "not yet at least."

The Radkova witch was just about to ask Damon a question before she heard a very familiar voice call out in the background, "I'll be at the bar!"

Emily's green eyes quickly widened when she realized who that was. "Is that Stefan?" The Radkova witch hurriedly asked.

Damon released a quiet chuckle. "Uh, yeah. I kinda of went off-book," the Salvatore vampire sheepishly admitted. "But don't worry!" Damon quickly swore, "I know what I'm doing."

"What the hell, Damon!?" The Radkova witch angrily exclaimed. "How stupid are you!? How could you let him around Elena when he's unpredictable!?" Emily snapped before she shouted, "it's not safe!"

"Relax, Princess," the Salvatore vampire lazily murmured. "Elena's safe right by my side," Damon promised. "I'm just trying a different technique with baby brother," Damon stated.

Emily released a frustrated groan as she leaned the back of her head against the hallway wall. "Lexi's plan was working, Damon!" The Radkova witch proclaimed. "This could screw everything up," Emily mumbled as a frown appeared on her face, "everything we've been working towards with Stefan."

"Just relax," Damon told the Radkova witch. "I know what I'm doing," Damon swore before he swiftly ended the call before Emily even had the chance to ask anymore questions.

Emily tightly squeezed her fingers around her cell phone in anger towards the older Salvatore vampire after the call was dropped.

Emily honestly couldn't believe Damon would even think about letting Stefan free from the jail cell when he knew how dangerous it was to be around Stefan with his emotions off and while he's under Klaus' control. Emily was even more upset that Damon thought it was a good idea to bring Elena along with this stupid plan of his.

Emily felt beyond annoyed and frustrated but she knew there was nothing she could do, especially when she still needed to get answers from Rebekah. The Radkova witch could only pray that Damon would keep Elena safe and keep an emotionless Stefan in line.

Emily took a long deep breath to calm her series of emotions before the Radkova witch slowly headed back into Stefan's room, where she found Rebekah reading from one of Stefan's journals.

The Radkova witch crossed her arms over her chest as she leaned her body against the doorway. "Can we continue with the story now?" Emily asked.

Rebekah ignored the young witch's question as she placed Stefan's journal back down on his dresser before she picked up a framed photograph. Rebekah twitched her head to the side as she stared at the photo of Stefan holding Emily in his arms.

"I'm usually quite jealous of things that are mine but I can't help but admit you two looked good as a couple," the original vampire admitted.

Rebekah placed the photograph down before she looked over to the Radkova witch with a smirk. "I, personally, think you're with the wrong person," the blonde vampire murmured. "You're so strong and hold so much power," Rebekah stated as she turned to fully face the brunette girl. "You should be with someone deserving of your qualities," Rebekah proclaimed, "you would have been the perfect fit for Elijah."

Emily could feel the way her cheeks began burning at the original vampire's words. Emily wasn't sure if Rebekah was just messing with her or not but it was kind of interesting that she would pick Elijah when Emily already shared a connection with the noble original, something Rebekah had no idea about.

It just shows how connected she and Elijah truly are, no matter how weird or confusing it can be.

"Uh... I'm not interested in Elijah," the Radkova witch awkwardly mumbled as she hoped Rebekah would just drop it and move on from this topic.

"Oh, come on!" Rebekah exclaimed. "You and Stefan are over," the blonde vampire stated, "you and Elijah would be perfect together!" A pout appeared on Rebekah's pink tinted lips as she murmured, "too bad Klaus has him daggered."

Emily shook her head. "Listen, I'm not here to talk about my love life," the Radkova witch muttered as she shot Rebekah a warning glare. "Can we please continue on with the story?" Emily asked before she stated, "if not, I'm just gonna leave."

Rebekah pouted up at the Radkova witch. "Aright, fine," Rebekah mumbled before she added with a smirk, "we can revisit the Elijah thing another day."

Emily rolled her green eyes in annoyance towards the original vampire. "Yeah, I'm just gonna go. I'll find the truth out the hard way," the Radkova witch muttered before she turned around to leave Stefan's bedroom.

However, Rebekah quickly used her enhanced speed to grab ahold of Emily's hand to stop her from leaving. Rebekah turned the Radkova witch back around to face her before she revealed, "that necklace wasn't Stefan's to give. It belonged to the original witch."

"I know," Emily murmured as she remembered the conversation that she had with Maria Radkova along with what she and Bonnie learned about the necklace. "It didn't really belong to the original witch either, though," Emily murmured before a small smirk appeared on her face as she stated, "it belonged to my coven."

Rebekah rolled her blue eyes as she carelessly waved her right hand in the air. "The Radkova coven had too much power with that stupid ruby," Rebekah recalled. "The original witch made sure she was the only one who could control it," Rebekah stated, "it's what turned my family into vampires."

"Why become vampires in the first place?" Emily wondered.

"Isn't it obvious?" Rebekah asked as she lifted up her right eyebrow. "It was a form of protection," the blonde vampire revealed. "Come," Rebekah ordered before she added as she began to walk out of Stefan's bedroom, "I'm quite thirsty."

Emily huffed and rolled her green eyes at the fact that Rebekah was dragging out this story longer than she needed to. Emily took a deep breath to calm her annoyance before she followed after the original vampire. Emily quickly realized that Rebekah was leading her to the Salvatore study.

"Did your family turn into vampires to fight against the werewolves?" Emily asked the original vampire as she leaned her body up against a desk in the study.

"In a way, yes," Rebekah murmured as she nodded her head. "My parents saw it as a way to keep their children alive," the blonde vampire murmured.

The Radkova witch furrowed her brows in puzzlement. "Why not just leave if your family was so afraid of the werewolves killing during the full moon?" Emily inquired, "wouldn't it have been easier to just move to a safer area then stay surrounded by werewolves?"

Rebekah rolled her blue eyes. "It was all about pride for my father," Rebekah muttered. "He didn't want to run anymore. He wanted to fight and be superior to the wolves," the blonde vampire recalled. "Where they could bite, we had to bite harder. Where they had speed, we had to be faster," Rebekah listed before she stated, "my father wanted to be the dominate force above the werewolves."

"It didn't come easy, though," Rebekah admitted. "Ayana didn't want to help us because she believed the spirits would turn their backs on her if she created something that was against nature," Rebekah murmured.

Emily looked over to the original vampire in confusion. "If she didn't turn your family, then who did?" The Radkova witch wondered.

A small smile rose onto Rebekah's pink tinted lips before she revealed, "my mother did."

Emily's brows immediately pulled together as she took in the original vampire's words. "Wait..." Emily mumbled before she asked, "was your mother a witch, too?"

The blonde vampire nodded her head as she confirmed what Emily thought. "The witch of the original family," Rebekah stated, "she was known as the original witch."

"Huh..." Emily mumbled to herself while Rebekah herself began to explore the shelves and cabinets in the Salvatore study.

It was honestly starting to make sense now for the Radkova witch. Emily had heard from Maria about this original witch but it always confused her since the Radkova coven had been around for just as long as the original family had been alive.

Emily always thought it meant the very first witch in existence but it actually meant that Rebekah's mother was called the original witch because her husband and children were the original vampires of the original family.

While the Radkova witch was trying to piece everything together, the original vampire was busy looking for alcohol in the study of the Salvatore boarding house.

"Where do they keep their best vintage?" Rebekah muttered to herself before she spotted a cabinet that she had yet to open. The blonde vampire grinned when she opened the cabinet and found it filled with different bottles of wine.

"Wait..." The Radkova witch muttered as a thought suddenly came to mind. Emily turned to face Rebekah, who was squatted in front of a cabinet, before she trailed off, "if your mother was a witch... does that mean..."

"Am I?" Rebekah asked as she finished the brunette girl's question. "No," Rebekah murmured as she stood up with a bottle of red wine in her grasp.

"A witch is nature's servant while a vampire is an abomination of nature," Rebekah reminded the Radkova witch before she shook her head. "You can either be one or the other, never both," Rebekah stated. "My mother only wished to protect us, so she never turned herself," the blonde vampire revealed.

Emily silently nodded her head as she absorbed the original vampire's story. "So, how did you turn?" The Radkova witch curiously asked. "I know the basics of how vampires are turned," Emily stated before she inquired, "but how were the first vampires created?"

"My mother, she called upon the sun for life and the ancient white oak tree, one of nature's eternal objects, for immortality," Rebekah described, "that night, my father offered us wine laced with blood before he drove his sword through our hearts."

Emily couldn't help but release a small gasp as her green eyes widened in surprise. "Your father killed you?" The Radkova witch softly asked.

"Yup," Rebekah numbly muttered as she tightly grasped the neck of the wine bottle before she perfectly snapped it off. Rebekah looked over to the Radkova witch before she bitterly added, "and he wasn't delicate about it either."

Rebekah poured two glasses of the vintage red wine before she crossed the study to hand one of the glasses to the Radkova witch. "We had to drink more blood to complete the ritual afterwards," Rebekah recalled as she took a seat in a leather chair in the Salvatore family's study.

"It was euphoric. The feeling of power was indescribable," Rebekah murmured before a frown quickly took over her face. "But the witch, Ayana, was right about the consequences," the original vampire revealed, "the spirits turned on us and nature fought back."

"For every strength, there would be a weakness. The sun became our enemy. It kept us indoors for weeks," Rebekah uttered. "My mother did find a solution," Rebekah stated as she tapped her index finger onto her daylight ring before she murmured, "but there were also other problems."

"The villagers were afraid of us once they saw what we could do," Rebekah uttered. "They soon found out that they could now keep us out of their homes by avoiding two simple words," the original vampire stated.

"It wasn't long before we found our true weakness as vampires," Rebekah revealed, "the flowers at the base of the white oak tree burned our skin and was able to prevent our compulsion."

"Vervain," Emily murmured as she realized what flower was under the ancient tree.

Rebekah nodded her head to confirm the Radkova witch's suspicion. "The spell decreed that the tree that gave us life, could also take it away," Rebekah murmured before she stated, "so, we burned it to the ground."

Emily felt her heart sink to the bottom of her chest at that piece of information. It meant the only way to truly kill an original was burned and forever destroyed. The white oak tree was there only chance of killing Klaus and it was gone.

"The darkest consequence was something my parents never anticipated," Rebekah stated, "the hunger... the blood... it had made us reborn but it was blood that we craved above all else. We could not control it."

The original vampire downed the rest of her glass of ruby red wine before she shot Emily a lazy smirk. "And with that, the predatory species was born," Rebekah concluded.

Emily finished the rest of her glass of wine as well before she stood up from her leaning position against the desk. Emily walked over to refill hers and Rebekah's glass. The Radkova witch ignored the feeling of her cell phone vibrating in her pocket as she moved to sit down on the couch across from the original vampire.

"At what point did Mikael start hunting Klaus?" The Radkova witch curiously asked. "It seemed like everything was fine after your family were no longer dying at the hands of the werewolves," Emily commented.

"It was," Rebekah murmured. "Everything was perfect until Nik made his first human kill and it triggered his werewolf gene," the blonde vampire revealed, "and with that, he became my father's greatest shame."

Emily silently nodded her head as she took in Rebekah's words. "Yeah, Elijah mentioned your mother had an affair with a werewolf," Emily recalled as she remembered her and Elijah's conversation from the Lockwood mansion.

"My mother, she tried to make it right with my father," Rebekah murmured. "She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side," Rebekah stated, "and then she turned her back on him."

Rebekah released a scoff before she continued, "but Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. Of course, as a vampire, that was magnified." The blonde vampire shook her head as a frown appeared on her face. "He went on a rampage and killed half the village before he came home and killed her."

Emily's green eyes slightly widened before she asked, "Mikael was the one to kill your mother?"

Rebekah nodded her head as a sense of sadness filled her blue gaze. "He said she broke his heart, so he would break hers," Rebekah murmured, "he tore it from her chest as Nik watched."

Rebekah quickly downed her second glass of wine to mask her grief over the lost of her mother. "My father took off in rage after he killed her while the rest of my family scattered," Rebekah recalled.

A small smile appeared on Rebekah's pink tinted lips. "Nik and Elijah were the ones who stayed by my side to help bury our mother," Rebekah murmured, "they knew I had to say goodbye."

"Nik, Elijah, and I had a stronger bond after that night," Rebekah stated, "we swore we would stick together as one; always and forever."

"Always and forever," the Radkova witch softly repeated.

Emily had heard those three words from Elijah a couple of times when he would speak about his bond with Klaus. The Radkova witch figured it had become some sort of a motto between the three siblings.

However, there was just something Emily couldn't understand. "How can you still believe in always and forever when Klaus kept you prisoned in a coffin for all those years?" The Radkova witch asked in confusion.

If Emily was in the blonde vampire's position, she would have definitely held a grudge over her siblings if they locked her away for that long.

Rebekah released a soft chuckle as she stared across at the Radkova witch. "We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened," Rebekah reminded the brunette girl. "I'm stubborn, Elijah's moral, and Nik... well Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him," the original vampire listed off.

"Over a thousand years as a family, we've all made that mistake at least once," Rebekah stated before a deep frown appeared across her face. "I've made several," the blonde vampire mumbled.

"How can you still love him?" Emily asked as she shook her head. "Is it really worth it to live in fear of being daggered and put in a box for another hundred years?" The Radkova witch inquired.

"He's my brother!" Rebekah exclaimed as she tossed her arms in the air before they slapped down against her legs. "And I'm immortal," Rebekah stated before she asked, "should I spend an eternity alone instead?"

Emily's green gaze softened as she could see the pain and the fear in the original vampire's blue eyes. "Maybe... Maybe after so many years, it's okay to let go and find a sense of family and happiness somewhere else," the Radkova witch gently suggested.

Rebekah swallowed thickly as she stared across at the Radkova witch. However, the blonde vampire refused to entertain Emily's suggestion, no matter how nice it sounded to escape from Klaus for good.

"You should go," Rebekah murmured as she quickly stood up from the leather chair before she moved to stand in front of the fireplace to hide the tears clouding her blue eyes. "You know our story, now leave," Rebekah ordered.

"You know it's okay to want happiness outside of Klaus," the Radkova witch softly told Rebekah as she stood up from her place on the couch. "Your world doesn't have to be centered around what Klaus wants," Emily gently stated.

Rebekah swiftly turned around to look at the Radkova witch with a hard glare. "I know what you're doing," Rebekah snarled as she angrily pointed her finger at the brunette girl. "You want me to betray Klaus, so you can kill him," Rebekah shouted, "I will not help you kill the one person who's never left my side!"

Emily innocently held up her hands in innocence. "I'm not trying to get you to do anything," the Radkova witch promised. "You should just know there's a life outside of Klaus," Emily murmured, "a life where you can truly be happy."

"Leave me alone! Leave Klaus alone! Leave my family alone!" Rebekah cried before she commanded, "and don't even think of waking Mikael!"

Emily took a cautious step back from the original vampire before she revealed, "it's a little too late for that."

Rebekah's blue eyes widened before she let out a loud gasp. "You are making a huge mistake, Emily," the original vampire mumbled as she slowly shook her head.

Emily lightly shrugged her shoulders. "Klaus has a hold over Stefan's life, over mine, and it seems like everyone else's he has ever met," the Radkova witch muttered before she stated, "I'll do whatever it takes to rid the world of Klaus."

Rebekah took slow and threatening steps towards the Radkova witch. "If you come after my brother, I will rip you apart," Rebekah snarled as she dug her nails into her palms. "If I were you, I would leave before I decide to get ahead start," the original vampire growled.

Emily knew when to walk away from a battle and this was definitely one of those times. Emily didn't want to say anything to piss Rebekah off even more, so instead of speaking, Emily silently turned around and headed out of the Salvatore boarding house before the original vampire decided to hurt or kill her.

The Radkova witch didn't let her body relax until she was in Damon's Mustang and halfway across town. Emily pulled the car on the side of the road before she she tossed her head back against the headrest and released a heavy sigh.

Emily just felt frustrated with everything that was happening today. While Emily did find the way to kill Klaus, the hope inside of her was immediately crushed when Rebekah revealed that the white oak tree had been destroyed all those years ago.

It felt like they were back at the beginning after Emily found out that piece of information. Emily honestly didn't know where they were supposed to go from here. The only thing that Emily could hope was that Alaric could find something useful in the drawings from the Lockwood cellar.

Maybe just maybe there was another way they could get rid of the original hybrid.
