"I am fading away, and no one is noticing."

......

The low hum of the airplane engines filled the air as Jungkook settled into his seat, gazing out the window at the familiar sights of Busan shrinking beneath him. The weight of the past lingered in his chest, a mix of emotions swirling as the plane taxied down the runway. America awaited him, a land of opportunities and new beginnings, but the echoes of his journey were etched in the memories of the city he was leaving behind.

The plane ascended into the sky, carrying Jungkook away from the familiar landscapes of Busan. As the city disappeared beneath a blanket of clouds, he felt a mixture of anticipation and apprehension about the life that awaited him across the ocean.

The rhythmic hum of the engines became a backdrop to the memories that flooded Jungkook's mind. His thoughts drifted to his late mother, a woman who had been both a source of comfort and pain in his life.

In the quiet moments of the flight, Jungkook closed his eyes, allowing the memories to surface. He recalled the warmth of his Maa's embrace, the way she used to pamper him with affection and care. Her gentle words echoed in his mind, soothing him like a lullaby during the stormy nights of his childhood.

"Jungkook, my little bunny," she would say, a term of endearment that had stuck with him over the years. The memory of her smile and the softness in her voice provided a bittersweet comfort as he embarked on this journey alone.

Yet, intertwined with the sweetness were the bitter moments of his past. Memories of school days haunted by bullies who targeted him for being different, for his fragile demeanor that stood out among the other boys. The taunts and jeers echoed in his ears, a relentless soundtrack to his early years.

Jungkook's gaze turned inward as he recalled the days he spent hiding his pains, both physical and emotional, from his Maa. He didn't want her to worry, didn't want her to bear the burden of his struggles. Instead, he chose to carry the weight silently, a decision that forged a resilience within him but left scars on his tender heart.

His mind wandered to the bullies who tormented him, faces etched with cruelty that still haunted his dreams. They mocked him for his sensitivity, for the tears he tried to hide, and for the gentle spirit that set him apart. The wounds inflicted by their words ran deep, leaving scars that no time could fully erase.

Yet, amid the shadows of his past, a beacon of light emerged in the form of Mr. and Mrs. Choi, his neighbors who became the unexpected guardians of his heart. The Chois had witnessed his struggles, saw beyond the fragile exterior to the resilient spirit within. They extended a helping hand when Jungkook needed it most.

The scene shifted to the Choi household, a place that became a refuge for Jungkook after the devastating loss of his mother. The warmth of their care, the genuine concern in their eyes, provided a solace that he hadn't known since his grandmother's passing.

Mr. Choi, with his kind eyes and reassuring presence, became a father figure for Jungkook. Mrs. Choi, a beacon of maternal warmth, enveloped him in a love that transcended blood ties. Together, they created a semblance of family for a boy who had lost everything.

Jungkook vividly remembered the day he hesitantly stepped into their home, carrying the weight of grief on his shoulders. The Chois, without hesitation, embraced him into their lives, offering not just shelter but genuine love and understanding.

In the midst of the clouds, Jungkook's thoughts painted a vivid picture of the Choi household - a place where laughter resonated, where family dinners felt like a warm embrace, and where the wounds of the past began to heal. The Chois became his pillars of strength, guiding him through the storms and celebrating the moments of sunshine.

As the plane continued its journey across the vast expanse of the ocean, Jungkook found solace in the memories of his late mother and the unwavering support of his neighbors. The turbulence of his past had sculpted him into the person he was becoming, and the prospect of America, with its unknown challenges and opportunities, held the promise of a new chapter.

In the quiet solitude of the plane, Jungkook allowed himself to feel the depth of his emotions. Tears welled in his eyes, not of sorrow but of gratitude for the people who had shaped his journey. The memories of his Maa, the scars of the past, and the newfound family in the Chois all converged in his heart, a symphony of emotions that accompanied him on this transformative flight to America.

The memories of kindness contrasted sharply with the shadows that loomed over the Choi household. Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Choi's son, had never accepted Jungkook. His animosity and harsh words cut deep, like knives slicing through the fragile fabric of Jungkook's newfound sanctuary.

Jungkook remembered the relentless taunts: "You're unwanted," Daniel would sneer. "No one loves you; you're just a burden to everyone you go to. You ruined my family by staying with us."

The words, like venom, seeped into Jungkook's soul, poisoning his self-worth. He felt like an intruder in the home that had offered him refuge. The warmth he had initially felt turned cold in the face of Daniel's hostility.

As the plane soared through the clouds, Jungkook opened his eyes to the harsh reality of the present. The memories clung to him like shadows refusing to be left behind. In the confined space of the airplane, he felt the weight of the past pressing down on him.

He reached into his bag, pulling out a small photo of his mother. Her smiling face, frozen in time, stared back at him. He traced the contours of her face with his fingertip, a mixture of love and sorrow welling up within him.

"I'm doing this for you, Maa," he whispered, the words carried away by the hum of the engines.

Closing his eyes, Jungkook drifted back into the labyrinth of memories, seeking solace in the fragments of his past.

Each word uttered by Daniel echoed through Jungkook's mind, a relentless loop of cruelty. "Unwanted." "A burden." "Alone."

Tears welled up in Jungkook's eyes as he confronted the emotional scars that had accumulated over the years. The ache of abandonment, the sting of rejection, and the pervasive sense of being unlovable clung to him like an unshakable shadow.

In the moments of solitude, Jungkook allowed himself to feel the pain he had long suppressed. He acknowledged the wounds that Daniel's words had inflicted on his soul. The journey to America, though a physical one, represented a desperate quest for emotional emancipation.

...( ꈍᴗꈍ)...

The crisp air of the American evening embraced Taehyung as he stood outside the airport, the gentle hum of arriving and departing flights creating a symphony around him. His hazel eyes scanned the bustling arrivals area, searching for the face of someone he had never met but whose presence held the promise of a connection to his past.

His father had asked him to pick up a boy named Jungkook, someone new to America, and the responsibility brought a mix of curiosity and apprehension. The possibility of a stranger becoming a part of his life intrigued Taehyung, but a small part of him wished for something more - a connection to the past he had lost.

As he waited, the familiar sound of his phone buzzing in his pocket interrupted the airport's symphony. Taehyung retrieved it, noting the caller ID - Jimin, his best friend.

"Hey, Chim," Taehyung greeted, a hint of anticipation in his voice.

"Where are you, b.tch?" Jimin's voice crackled through the line. "You disappeared as soon as Mr Williams lecture ended. Are you avoiding me?"

Taehyung chuckled, "Nah, I'm at the airport. Dad asked me to pick up someone, a guy named Jungkook."

"Jungkook?" Jimin repeated, surprise evident in his tone. "Why didn't you tell me? Is he..is he that Jungkook?"

Taehyung hesitated for a moment, his gaze fixed on the sea of faces passing by. "Jim..Jimin I don't know if he is that Jungkook or not."

Taehyung said, a mix of nostalgia and longing in his voice. "I've been hoping that this Jungkook is bestie's grandson. It's been two years since we lost her , and I've always wondered how he's doing without her around."

Jimin's voice softened, "Tae, that would be something, wouldn't it? To have a piece of the past back in your life."

"Yeah," Taehyung admitted, a subtle excitement building within him. "I've missed her, Jimin. And if it turns out to be him, it would be like getting a small part of my bestie back."

As the conversation continued, Taehyung's eyes never strayed far from the arrival gate. The minutes felt like hours as he clung to the hope that the boy he awaited might be the missing link to his late bestie.

Finally, among the crowd emerging from the gates, a figure caught Taehyung's eye - cute, with bunny-like features and doe eyes that mirrored his innocence. A sense of recognition flashed through him, confirming the unspoken connection.

"Chim," Taehyung whispered, his voice filled with a mix of excitement and emotion. "I think... I think that's him. That's Jungkook."

Jimin's response echoed with genuine happiness, "Tae, that's amazing! I'm so happy for you. Go say hi! Make a new friend, and who knows, maybe it's fate that brought him here umm to you."

Taehyung ended the call with a humm, his heart pounding as he approached the young man who had just stepped into America. With a smile that held the weight of shared memories and a connection that surpassed the boundaries of time, Taehyung extended a welcoming hand.

"Hey, Jungkook," he greeted, his hazel eyes meeting the doe-like gaze of the person who carried the legacy of a cuteness. "I'm Taehyung, here to welcome you to America."

Jungkook, his eyes reflecting a mix of gratitude and uncertainty, shook Tae's hand. "Hi, Taehyung. Nice to meet you."

The two exchanged pleasantries, and Tae couldn't help but notice the hint of hesitation in Jungkook's demeanor. They walked through the airport, engaging in small talk, but Tae sensed there was more to Jungkook's story than what met the eye.

As they approached the parking area, Tae decided it was time to address the elephant in the room. "Jungkook, my dad asked me to pick you up and help you settle. You'll be staying with me and my best friend Jimin. We share a dorm close to the college."

Jungkook's eyes widened with surprise. "Stay with you? I mean, that's really nice of you, but I don't want to impose."

Tae chuckled, a reassuring smile playing on his lips. "You're not imposing, Jungkook. We have a spare bed, and my dad insisted. Besides, it'll be good to have some company. Living alone can get pretty lonely, trust me."

Jungkook hesitated, glancing around as if weighing his options. "I appreciate it, Taehyung, but I don't want to be a burden."

Tae's expression softened. "Jungkook, you're not a burden. We want to help you settle in, and trust me, Jimin and I are pretty easygoing. Plus, it'll be way more fun than staying alone and call me hyung, I'm older than you"

Jungkook couldn't help but smile at Tae's genuine offer of friendship. "Well, hyung then thank you. I'd really appreciate your help."

As they reached Tae's car, the drive to the dorm was filled with friendly banter and Tae's attempt to make Jungkook feel at ease. Tae's deep voice resonated in the confined space, and Jungkook found it oddly comforting.

Arriving at the dorm, Tae and Jungkook were greeted by Jimin, whose infectious smile instantly put Jungkook at ease.

As Jungkook settled into his new temporary home, he couldn't help but notice the dynamic between Tae and Jimin - their friendship, their shared laughter, and the genuine care they showed for each other. Tae's sharp features and deep voice, which had initially seemed intimidating, now felt endearing to Jungkook.

Over the next few days, Tae and Jimin made sure Jungkook felt welcome. They introduced him to the new place, helped him with the paperwork, and shared tales of their own experiences. The weight of judgment that Jungkook had feared slowly dissipated in the warmth of their friendship.

One evening, as they sat in the dorm room, Tae looked at Jungkook with sincerity in his eyes. "You know, Jungkook, we're not here to judge. We've all got our stories and quirks. What matters is that we're here for each other. You're not alone anymore."

Jungkook, touched by Tae's words, nodded appreciatively. "Thank you, Tae hyung. It means a lot and it's comforting to know I have friends like you and Jimin hyung by my side."

Tae grinned, "That's what friends are for, Jungkook. And hey, we've got each other's backs. So, let's make the most of this journey together, alright?"

"YES"
