The return of Logan Fell

Elena had finally decided to tell Bonnie everything, the two of them were upstairs in her room. I wanted to give Elena the space to tell her best friend everything, I know how much she needs it. I was sitting on the sofa, curled up with my knees to my chest when the doorbell rang.

Aunt Jenna walked over to the door and opened it, I wasn't really paying attention, not until she spoke a name. The name of a person who I thought was dead. "Logan?"

"Hello, Jenna. Aren't you going to invite me in?" Logan asked. My heart plummeted to my chest at his words. He can't be alive, I saw him die. The only way he would be here is if he was turned, but he didn't die with vampire blood in his system. Or at least I thought he didn't.

"Why are you here, Logan?" Aunt Jenna asked

"I missed you. I was out of town." Logan said

"Yeah, I got that email." Aunt Jenna said bitterly

"You got an email?" Logan asked in surprise, showing that he wasn't the one to write it.

"You didn't send an email?" Aunt Jenna asked

"I can explain. Just invite me in and I'll tell you everything." Logan said. I very quickly got off of the couch and sped down the hallway towards the front door.

"I'm not gonna invite you in. Forget it." Aunt Jenna said as she placed her arm across the door.

"He can't come in." I said as I came to stand beside her

"Florence, how nice to see you." He said in an eerie manner. My heart was beating quickly as I stared at him, there was no doubt he had been turned.

Aunt Jenna looked between the two of us with a confused look, she then looked angrily at Logan again. She may not know why I don't want him in, but she sure won't let him now.

He then turned his attention to Aunt Jenna again. "Come on, Jenna, it's me."

"The answer is no." She stated

"I know you. You're always one step away from a maybe. A tiny nudge to yes." Logan said

Aunt Jenna scoffed, "You just pointed out that I have no self-control. Clever strategy." She then slammed the door in his face, I felt relief that she hadn't let him in.

"Everything okay?" She asked me

"Yeah, I just don't like that guy." I replied. She nodded in understanding and headed back for the kitchen. I sighed shakely and quickly made my way up the stairs. I entered my bedroom and hastily shut the door behind me while pulling out my phone.

I dialed Stefan's number first, pacing my bedroom floor agitatedly. But it only rang out, he didn't pick up. I sighed in frustration and then on a whim, decided to try Damon. He might have already left town, but I had to talk to someone. Unfortunately, Damon didn't pick up either. I sighed heavily and dropped my phone onto my bed. Trust them to not pick up the phone when I actually need them to.

Free periods are a blessing, I have two of them this morning, which gives me the time to go over to the Salvatore boarding house. Maybe they have already left, maybe they haven't, all I know is that I need help with this. The likelihood of Logan Fell killing someone is high, and he probably has already.

I got ready and left the house a few minutes after Aunt Jenna and Elena had left. I got into my car and drove myself to the Salvatore residence, hoping that I won't find it to be empty.

When I pulled up to the house, a police car was parked outside. I furrowed my brows and climbed out of my car, hoping that the police weren't here for Damon or Stefan.

I walked up to the door, but before I could knock, it swung open. I ended up coming face to face with Sheriff Forbes and Damon Salvatore. I couldn't help but feel relieved to see he was still here. I put the feeling down to the fact that I needed help, it wasn't anything personal.

"Florence? What are you doing here?" The sheriff asked in confusion

"I'm just here to see Damon." I said with a shrug. The woman nodded before she stepped around me and headed towards her car, though she shot me a confused look over her shoulder.

"So, you're here to see me?" Damon asked almost teasingly

"Yeah. I have a problem." I said. He furrowed his brows at my concerned expression and held the door open for me. I stepped through the door to see Stefan also standing in the hallway.

"Is everything okay?" Stefan asked worriedly, his brows furrowed in concern.

"Um, no. Logan Fell showed up at my door last night, asking to be invited in." I stated. Both Stefan and Damon looked at each other in confusion.

"Logan Fell is dead." Stefan said in confusion

"Well, he looked very undead to me." I stated

"This is just great." Damon said sarcastically.

"The sheriff was just here to tell Damon about animal attacks, it must have been Logan, I thought it was you." Stefan said as he looked pointedly at Damon.

Damon held his hands up "well, evidently it wasn't. Anyway, I wouldn't have been so obvious about it."

"So, what are we going to do?" I asked, looking between the two men.

"We?" Damon asked with a raised brow. "We are not doing anything."

"We have to do something, he's killing people." I argued

"I will track him with the watch, you will stay out of it." Damon stated firmly

"really? Since when did you care if I got involved or not?" I asked, not understanding why he didn't want me to get involved. Damon clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes.

Stefan stepped forward and placed his hand on my shoulder. "Damon's right, this could be dangerous."

"And all the other things I've been involved with were just casual walks in the park? You do remember that I'm a witch, right?" I asked, I want to help.

"I know, but just...let Damon handle this one." Stefan asked me

"Exactly, I can handle myself." Damon stated. "Though, I do appreciate your concern."

I rolled my eyes to hide how I was really feeling, trying to show him that I didn't really care. I don't anyway. Not that much. "Fine."

"Great." Damon said with a clap of his hands. He then turned around and headed off into the house, supposedly to get the compass.

I don't know how or why I found myself back at the Salvatore house once school was over. Something within me was telling me to go back, and ever since finding out about my abilities, I tend to trust my gut.

No one was home but the door was open, so I walked in and took a seat in the living room. The sofa was more comfortable than I had expected. I was scrolling through my phone, wondering why I had come here, when the front door banged open.

I stood up and glanced down the hallway to see Damon leaning heavily against the wooden wall in the hallway. My eyes widened when I saw blood soaking through his black shirt.

"Damon?" I asked as I walked over to him, grabbing onto his bicep as he swayed slightly. I gave him a once over and realized just how many wounds he seemed to have.

"Hey, I told you it would be dangerous." Damon said through gritted teeth.

"What can I do?" I asked him, my eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"Remember where I was kept, that room in the basement?" He asked with a groan

"Yeah. I remember." I said

"There's a fridge locker with blood in it, could you get me some?" He asked

"Yeah, yeah." I nodded. I gently let go of him and quickly made my way over to the basement stairs. I jogged down the steps until I was in the old basement once again, the door to their vampire prison was wide open. I walked past it to find the fridge that Damon had mentioned.

I bent down and pulled open the fridge door to find several bags of blood from the mystic falls hospital. Someone has been raising the blood bank. I picked up one of the bags and shut the fridge again. With the bag of blood in my hand I made my way back up the stairs to the main floor. When I got there, Damon was not where I left him.

"Damon!?" I called out, trying to figure out where he went.

"Up here!" He called out from up the stairs. I glanced up and began to walk up the wooden stairs towards the second floor of the house, a place I haven't yet been to.

Once I was at the top of the stairs, I began to walk down the hallway, unsure of where to go now I was up here.

"Damon?" I called out.

"In here." He called back from a door just ahead of me to the left. I walked over and opened up the door, Damon was standing in the middle of what I assume to be his bedroom, shirtless.

My eyes widened at the sight, I wasn't even surprised that he was in good shape, but his jeans were hanging a little too low. I then took note of the blood and the wounds that still scattered his skin.

Damon glanced down at himself and then back up at me with a wide smirk. "Like what you see?"

"You're still bleeding. Here." I said as I held out the bag of blood. He stepped forward and took in from my grasp, unscrewing the top and taking a big sip.

I looked away from him and glanced around his room, he had a large bed in the centre and a large wardrobe. There was a large pile of books stacked beside his bed and his bathroom door was opened, showing a modern bathroom.

As Damon was drinking the blood, I walked into his bathroom and grabbed a face cloth from the side of his sink. I couldn't help but notice the amount of soap he has, different bars in an array of colors. I ran the tap and got the cloth lukewarm. I rang it out a little and then walked back into his bedroom.

The bag of blood was almost completely empty, and his wounds had healed up, only leaving splotches of blood on his pale skin. I stepped up to him wordlessly and raised the cloth, carefully cleaning the blood off of one spot on his collarbone.

Damon was quiet as he allowed me to clean the blood off of him. Once I was finished, I looked up into his eyes. They held a look that I didn't recognise, but I pushed it aside and stepped away from him to put the cloth back in his bathroom.

"Thank you." Damon said

"Don't mention it." I said as I stepped out of his bathroom again. He had finally put a shirt back on and was buttoning it up.

"How many black shirts do you own?" I asked, noting the fresh black shirt.

"Lots. So, I am heading to the school. Logan has made an appearance there and I want him dead. Wanna come with?" He asked

"I thought it was too dangerous?" I asked him, already heading for his bedroom door.

"It is, but I could use some backup." He replied as he followed me out of his room.

"Okay, but you're driving." I said

"Deal." He agreed instantly.

Stefan had called us again when we were on our way to the school, Damon handed me his phone and I answered it, putting it on speaker phone so he could hear.

"What's up?" Damon asked

"Logan is on the move, he has Caroline." Stefan said. My heart dropped as worry took over.

"Where is he?" Damon asked, getting frustrated that he hadn't killed the guy yet.

"I think he's heading back to that warehouse you found him in, we can cut him off before he gets there." Stefan said

"Alright, we're on our way." Damon said

"We? Who's we?" Stefan asked in confusion

"Hey, Stefan." I spoke up

"You brought Florence with you?" Stefan asked worriedly

"She insisted." Damon said with a shrug, I smacked him on the arm with a shocked expression and muttered "hey!"

Stefan sighed heavily on the other end of the phone. "Just meet me at the junction near the warehouse, okay?"

"I'll be there." Damon said. Stefan then hung up and I handed Damon his phone back. We drove for a few minutes before Damon pulled up at the side of the road. Stefan was standing waiting for us near the woods at the edge of the road.

"Wait here, okay?" Damon said as he turned off the car.

"What? No, I'm coming with. He has Caroline." I argued. Damon sighed as I pulled open the car door and stepped out.

"You really should stay here." Damon said

"You brought me here." I said with a shrug. Stefan looked like he wanted to stop me, but he also looked amused at Damon's irritation. Damon threw his head back and sighed heavily before he gave in and began to walk.

The three of us walked up the road until we were at the junction. It didn't take long for a car to pull up and stop at the junction. Stefan and Damon used their super speed to get over to the door. Stefan threw it open and pulled Logan Fell out, throwing him onto the road.

I quickly ran over to the passenger side and opened the door to find an unconscious Carline. I placed my fingers on the side of her neck to feel for a pulse, feeling relieved when I felt a pulse and no cold vampire feeling. She was okay.

Several gunshots went off, making me jump slightly. I came around to the other side of the car to see Damon aiming a gun at Logan, who was laying on the ground in pain.

"Payback's a bitch, isn't it?" Damon asked. He then turned to Stefan and gestured to Caroline. "Get her out of here."

Stefan nodded and jogged around the car to get Caroline.

"Logan, what happened? Logan?" The voice of the sheriff said loudly from inside the car. Damon jogged up to the driver's side and pulled out a phone.

"Sherif, hey it's Damon." Damon answered

"Where's Caroline?" She asked worriedly

"She's okay." Damon said as Stefan sped away with Caroline in his arms. "Uh, I'm on Elm Street." Damon added before he hung up the phone.

He then walked over to the boot and pulled out a tire iron. "I'm gonna try this one more time." He mimicked hitting Logan with the tire iron. "Who turned you?"

"I told you, I don't know." Logan said through a grimace.

Damon then aimed the tire iron towards Logan again. "This tire iron here could take your head clean off. Now, I don't want to do that in front of the lady. Is that your final answer?"

Logan glanced from Damon to me, his eyes were hard with rage, but I could see fear hidden within. "You're just gonna stand there and let him kill me again?"

"Hey, don't talk to her like that." Damon said threateningly, waving the tire iron in the air. Logan swallowed and decided it was in his best interest to change the subject.

"How can you side with them?" Logan asked

"I don't side with anyone. You pissed me off, I want you dead." Damon stated. "Who turned you?"

"I don't know." Logan said loudly

Damon sighed and raised the tire iron above his head. "Oh, well, then you're screwed."

Just as Damon began to swing at him, Logan raised his hand in a panic. "Wait! I do know."

"You're lying." Damon stated

"You think you're the only one who wants in that tomb underneath the old church?" Logan said as he got up on his knees.

"If you are lying to me, I will end you." Damon stated firmly

"I am not lying. There's another way to break the spell. We can help you. Meet me at the old church." Logan begged just as I heard police sirens.

"Take me down. Make it look real. Make it look real." Damon said hurriedly.

Damon slashed towards Logan just as the police car pulled up, Logan then pushed Damon as hard as he could, knocking him into the car with force. Logan then disappeared into the night. I sighed heavily and muttered to myself "I'm so going to regret this."

I'm going to have to put on a show. "Damon!" I called out as I rushed to his side, grabbing onto his arm as he "struggled" to get up. He then gave up and slouched down on the ground.

"Where is she?" The sheriff asked worriedly

"She's okay, my brother is taking her home. I'm sorry, sheriff. I just wasn't strong enough." Damon said as he stood up, clutching his stomach in pain. I hovered by his side, trying to look as panicked as I could. The sheriff stepped forward and placed her hand on my arm.

"Are you okay?" She asked worriedly

I nodded silently as I breathed shakely. "Yes."

"How much did you see?" The sheriff asked, believing that I had no idea what was happening.

"A lot. Enough. Vampires." I muttered in a panicked tone.

The sheriff looked at Damon. "Take her home, explain as much as you can, compel her if you have to."

"Okay." Damon nodded then looked down at me and wrapped his arm around my shoulders, walking me back in the direction of his car.

Once we were far away enough from the sheriff, I let the scared facade drop. "You owe me big time, Salvatore."

"I definitely do. You should be an actor." He said

"I hope you know what you're doing. You will kill him after he gives you the information, right?" I asked him

"Absolutely. As soon as I know how to get into the tomb, he's dead." Damon explained

"Good. Because it's only a matter of time before he figures out how to get invited into my house." I stated.

"Don't worry, that won't happen." Damon said. He squeezed me gently as we headed back to his car, it hadn't even occurred to us that no one could see us anymore.
