"Yeah, baby, I'll call you later. I promise." I say to my boyfriend on the phone. "I was hoping I could see you tonight." Lorenzo tells me. "I'll have to see what I'm doing, I have to study and stuff tonight." I say.
"Babe, you have good grades already, you'll be fine." He chuckles. "I know, Enzo, but you know how seriously I take school." I shrug.
I hear a sigh and I look to the left to Billie, subtly rolling her eyes. We've been hanging out a lot lately and right now, she's in my dorm room while we hang out. I had to sneak her in because if people know she's here, my room is gonna become a meet and greet.
"Sorry," I mouth to Billie. "It's fine." She whispers.
"Alright, it's fine. Just text me if you change your mind. I love you, Rae." Lorenzo says.
"I love you too. Bye, baby." I say before hanging up the call. "Sorry about that." I say to Billie.
"Don't worry about it. You got priorities and shit." She laughs. "Alright, what do you wanna do now?" I ask her. "I don't know. Maybe I should go since you said you have studying to do.. right?" She says.
"No, it's fine, it's still early. Plus, you can stay here even while I'm studying, I don't mind." I tell her. "Yeah?" She asks and I nod. "Okay." She smiles.
"Um, so what did your boyfriend ask about?" She asks. "If you don't mind me asking, of course!" She adds quickly. "You're good," I laugh. "He said he wanted to see me tonight, but I told him maybe, but it's probably gonna be a no because I'm with you." I smile softly at her.
"Oh, Rae, you didn't.. have to do that." She laughs, sounding nervous which makes me confused, but I brush it off.
"It's fine, honestly." I assure her. "I'm low-key mad at him right now, anyways, because he's stood me up like, 2 times this week, but it's fine." I shrug.
"Damn, I'm sorry. You deserve better than that." Billie says with a frown. "Don't worry about it. I mean, I get it, he's busy with football practice and shit." I laugh. "Oh, yeah." She nods.
"So he's a football player?" She asks. "Yeah, he's a quarterback." I tell her. "What a cliché." She giggles. "Yeah, I know." I chuckle. "I just kind of wish he had more time for me, you know? Like, I get he's busy a lot, but I normally always make time for him whenever he wants to see me. We literally both live on campus, yet we don't see each other often." I roll my eyes.
"I'm sorry, that sucks. I feel like no matter what, you should always try to get in a least some time with whoever you're dating, right?" She says and I nod in agreement. "It's annoying, honestly, but I'll get over it." I shrug. "Don't worry, I'll be your part time girlfriend." She jokes with a smirk.
So far what I've learned about Billie is that she's very flirty, but I think she's just like that in general.
"I'm literally straight as a ruler, bro." I laugh. "That's what I said when I was younger, but now it's not the same." She shrugs. "Shit probably would've been different if I wasn't raised the way I was, to be honest." I tell her.
"Why? Is your family homophobic?" She furrows her eyebrows. "I mean.. kind of. My older sister's lesbian, though, but my family somewhat supports her, but they also shit talk her a lot just because she has a girlfriend." I roll my eyes at my family's ignorance.
"That's fucking dumb as hell." She says. "I know. Shit's fucked up. My sister is literally the sweetest person ever. She's planning on proposing to her girlfriend soon, so I just really hope my family will come to her wedding if it happens." I sigh.
"That's on them if they don't. If your sister's anything like you, then I know she's great." She tells me, making me smile. "Thank you, Bil." I say.
"Of course, Rae." She grins at me. "Your smile is so pretty, you know that?" She says. "Oh, thank you. So is yours." I tell her.
"Um, so, what do you wanna do?" She asks me. "Wanna go out and do something?" I suggest. "Like what?" Her eyebrows furrow. "Uhh.." I think for a second. "Wanna go on a walk? I don't know, I have a spot I go to a lot just to think." I shrug.
"Sure, that sounds nice." She nods. "Alright, put your little disguise on." I laugh. We get off my bed and she puts her hoodie on and sunglasses. She pulls her hood over her head and we leave my room.
As we're walking down the hall, someone walks by us. "Why are you wearing sunglasses inside?" He asks. "I.. just went to the... eye doctor?" Billie says in a confused tone. He gives us a weird look and keeps walking. I look at Billie and she has a small smirk on her face and we both start laughing.
"He looked genuinely scared." I giggle. "I know, right?" She chuckles. We walk downstairs and outside to the parking lot. We get to my car and get in. I start driving to the spot I like to go to after starting the car. "Rae, don't you have stuff to do tonight?" Billie asks.
"Not really. I'd rather spend time with you, to be honest." I say, making her smile.
I quickly pull up to an old building where the place is and I get out of the car. "Um, so, this place is abandoned and kind of.. okay, really old, so just be careful." I tell her. She nods and follows me. I climb in the entrance which is actually just a broken window and I hold out my hand for Billie to grab it, which she does and I pull her inside.
I lead her to the back where there's a ladder going upstairs and we go up. I climb up to the top of the building where there's a ledge to sit on.
"Woah, this place is so- oh my God." Billie's eyes widen when she sees the view. An abandoned beach that no one goes to anymore is down below, so the ocean is in front of us and the sun is setting.
"I know, it's pretty, right?" I smile as I sit on top of the ledge which is pretty big, so it's somewhat safe. "Is that, like.. sturdy?" She laughs.
"Yeah, it's fine." I nod. She sits down next to me and lets out a sigh. "This is really cool, Rae. You come here a lot?" She asks. "Yeah. Sometimes I'll bring my notebook and just write ideas for my film class, I guess, or just to think." I shrug. "I haven't even brought Gigi here, so consider yourself lucky." I giggle. "Damn, not even Gigi? I feel special." She gasps dramatically and puts her hands over her heart.
"You are." I chuckle. She smiles and looks back towards the water.

"It's kinda dark, we should get back to campus." I say to Billie. "Okay." She nods and we both get off the ledge. We do the whole process of getting back down and back to my car and once we're there, we get in and I start driving.
After a little bit of driving, we get back to UCLA and I park my car. We get out and start walking back to my dorm. "You know, you can go home if you want to." I say. "Nah, I like being with you, you're fun." Billie grins. "I like being with you too." I tell her.
We get to my dorm and I unlock the door. "Alright, so I have to study a little bit, so you can just do whatever and we can still talk, of course." I say as I sit down at my desk. "Okay, that's fine." She nods.
I pull out my laptop and start taking notes and whatever while Billie watches The Office on the tv.

"Aurelia, wake up." I shake Aurelia since she fell asleep while doing her work. "Hm?" She mumbles as she opens her eyes. "You fell asleep, Rae. C'mere, let me get you into bed." I say to her.
"No, it's okay, I can do it." She says sleepily. She stands up and I walk her over to her bed. She gets in and I cover her up. "Goodnight, Rae. Sleep well." I whisper. She doesn't say anything because she already fell back asleep. I smile and grab my stuff before turning off the light. I walk out of her dorm and go down to the parking lot.
I'm really glad Aurelia and I have gotten closer, she's super sweet and fun to be with.
I'm just hoping I don't get attached.
