Joaquin

"Professor!" I yell at Dmitri

Damn, this kid walks fast.

I see him sitting beside a redhead guy.

Oh, it's you.

"Why did you–" I am shocked after seeing her face. "So, who is this lovely lady right here?"

This familiar face...

I look at Dmitri.

He may deny it but there's a hint of longingness in his face.

"Joaquin," Dmitri warns. "My students."

"Okay, okay. Calm down, Mister," I say and raise my hands as a sign of retreat.

I am checking the pendant that Esperanza gave me.

"This will help you find the Alpha. Once it glimmers, that means you have found your prey. Send the alpha to me and I'll help you with your kingdom's problem."

To my surprise, it does glimmer.

So, it's him.

"Sir, You want to sit here?" the redhead asks and taps the space on his left side.

I immediately hide the pedant in my palm.

"How nice of you, young man," I say and smile at Dmitri.

Let's see. Are you the lost little pup?

Since that day, I followed the redhead boy wherever he would go. I stare at the pedant, but it's not glimmering anymore.

"Fuck," I shake the pendant.

"Is it broken?" I mutter.

Maybe, I have to be near him.

But how?

"Clarkson!" I greet him after seeing him in the restroom.

"Hi!" he cheerfully greets. I choose to stand near him.

"You still have class?" I ask while checking the pendant.

The fuck?

Why isn't it working this time?

"Uh, yeah," he nods.

I sit on the couch and take a deep breath.

"What just happened? Is she playing with me?" I question myself while staring at the pendant. I take a glass of blood from Dmitri's bottle. The door swings open. I see a petite blonde girl enter the apartment.

"Hi, Joaquin!" Stacey greets.

"Where's our Prince?" I ask and take a sip from the blood.

"He's gone?" Anastasia frowns. "That quick?"

"Huh?" I ask. My eyebrows furrow.

"He told me that he is going to visit the kingdom," she says and sits beside me.

"Bloodharts?" I frown.

She nods.

"He said he found the Alpha," she shrugs.

"Fuck." I immediately stand up.

"Where are you going?" Anastasia asks furiously.

"I'm gonna follow our stubborn Prince," I say while putting on Dmitri's brown long coat.

"Here, here, drink this," I hand Dmitri my drink in a rush. "Drink that. It's called Blood Lust," I say before leaving them with Sab.

"What's wrong, baby?" Sab, the dhampir, asks while kissing my neck.

Sigh.

"I broke a witch item," I say.

She stops kissing.

"Ooooh, witches are soft-spoken, but they can be ruthless evil when they get mad," she says while kissing my jaw.

"I'm a vampire, honey. I'm just confused," I say. "That item would help me to find someone. It worked—" my words are cut when she kisses my lips. I instantly break the kiss.

"Maybe you're wrong," she whispers. "Did you use it when you're only with that someone?"

"No. He's with–"

George.

"This can't be," I am pacing in Dmitri's apartment. I put out the pendant from my pocket and stare at it for a while.

'LEARN HOW TO KNOCK'

"Oh, are you some sort of anti-social type of person?" I ask after reading the sign.

I knock on the door.

Gladly it opens quickly.

However, I see an unfamiliar lady. I look around and clasp my hands.

"Hello. Is George there?"

"She's not here," she answers.

"Who are–"

"I-I'm Joaquin," I fake a stammer. "I'm Dmi–I mean, I'm Jared's Uncle. I live there," I act nervous, pointing to the apartment next door. "N-Nice to meet you, lovely lady," I smile.

"Oh, I'm–"

"You like me," I say while staring at her. Her eyes glimmer.

I cup her face. I kiss her slowly. She tries to push me away, but I grip her tighter. Her eyes are staring at me. I watch her eyes slowly close.

You'll be my pet for a while.

Soon, she gives in to the kiss. Her muffled screams turn into moans. I trail kisses down her jaw and to her neck.

"What's your name, gorgeous?" I ask seductively.

"I'm Eliza Alvarez," she says. A breathy moan escaped from her lips.

I feel someone is coming.

That smell.

Maybe that's why George's scent is a bit weird.

Afterall.

Witches are on the werewolves' side and only a few of those witches are on ours.

"Oh my gosh–"

I quickly stop kissing her.

"Why did you stop!?" she asks in frustration.

"Your niece is coming. Let's continue this next time," I say and give her a quick kiss on her lips.

"Hi!" I greet her after I step out of her apartment.

Shocked.

She looks at me with wide eyes.

"What are you doing there, Mister?" George asks.

"Joaquin, I'll go shopping tomorrow," Anastasia says. "I have to reward myself after that 'substitute teacher' thing," she says and rolls her eyes.

"I'll go with you," I casually say while my eyes are on my phone.

'Let's meet tomorrow morning. Bring your niece with you. I want to get close to her.'

I send the message to Eliza.

"Did you just say that you'll come with me?" Anastasia asks in disbelief.

I nod.

"But," I raise my hand. "I'll bring our neighbors with us," I continue.

"What!?" she frowns.

"Also, you have to give us some alone time, okay?" I add.

"What? Are you in a serious relationship right now?"

"Plus, call me Uncle Quino," I just give her a playful smile.

I am standing in front of George's apartment, watching how the pendant glimmers.

My eyes widen.

"No way," I whisper.

Well...

I guess this witch is on my side.

"Hey there!" I greet cheerfully and quickly hide the pendant behind me when the door opens.

She is shocked after seeing me.

"Anastasia!" I yell. "Come here, quickly!"

As soon as Anastasia pulls her away from us, I quickly held Eliza's waist.

"Eli," I purr. "I missed you."

She blushes.

"I wanted to know you more," I whisper in her ear.

She giggles.

I'm getting bored with her biography story. She told me everything from her childhood up to her high-school life, but she doesn't mention Georgina.

"My sister has a different taste, though. She likes to–"

I hold her hand and intertwine our fingers.

"Eli, can I ask why George is with you? Where are her parents?"

"Oh, she is with me since she was four," she answers. "Her parents were hiding her."

"Quino?"

"Eli," I dramatically sigh. "Can I visit you? I miss you so bad."

"O-Okay."

I become desperate to know the answers. I've been confused with everything.

"Eli," I breathe out as soon as she opens the door of her apartment.

I kiss her and firmly close my eyes. I invade her memory.

Fourteen years ago...

"Eliza," I saw a blonde lady standing in front of me. She was carrying a little girl in her arms. The little girl was asleep.

"Liz, you should hide her," the female said. Her blue eyes were crying.

I was in the point of view of Eliza.

She handed the girl to me.

"Hide Georgina for me, please," she pleaded.

"I... Don't leave me-"

"Treat her like your own child. I-I'll be away for a while."

"Where are you going?"

"I'll hide as well," she said.

"You're the one in trouble here."

"Where would you stay?"

"Somewhere far."

"Okay, take care of yourself. Text me."

"Good night."

Someone's here.

I lift Eliza's leg. She wraps her arms around my neck.

Fuck.

I try to invade her memories once again, but I can't since I'm carrying her upstairs.

I break the kiss.

"C'mon, Joaquin," I say to myself through gritted teeth.

I throw her on the bed. She hurriedly pulls me and kisses me hungrily. I try to access her memory once again.

"I now have the Alpha," I announce. I grip Georgina's neck tighter.

I am the only one happy in the situation. Dmitri glares at me. Clarkson looks defeated. Andrew is confused.

Murmurs grow louder like the buzz of a bee.

"What?" George asks in her soft voice, almost a whisper.
