Thick,leather boots hit against the cobble. The sound created by the worn leather, seeming a bit hollow to the girl walking alone down the desolate streets of a small island in the south blue.
A faded, green trench coat hung from her slender form. The fabric swaying by her knees as she walked. The cold, brisk air clouded like smoke with every exhalation of her breath.
Chuckling softly, she re-lived her younger days by raising two fingers to her lips, pretending to take a drag of a cigarette, before pulling her fingers away and releasing the breath.
She chuckled again.
More time passed as she stalked the streets of the small island. Which, as of late, had been nicknamed,
'Kyúketsuki shima'
Which translates roughly to 'Vampire island'.
The reason was simple. Lately, this island had become salvation to many night crawlers, of which were attracted to the small area because of its naturally cold and dark climate.
She scowled upon the thought of those wretched beings. And, almost as if to express her disgust, she spat to her left. A small 'Tch' of agitation leaving her at thought of pearly white canines and emotionless,amber eyes.
Instinctively, she reached for the revolver stationed at the breast pocket, on the inside of her jacket. Pulling the well-kept weapon from its hiding place, she silently marvelled at the shine the moon provided on the polished metal.
Popping the barrel from its place, she laid notice to the empty slots where her special silever bullets, should have been stationed. However, only one remained.
She stopped in her tracks as she pressed the gun between her elbow and waist, reaching down to her belt, which multitasked as an actual belt and bullet holder, pulling out eight bullets.
Gonna have to get s'more soon. I'm sure Caleb will be pleased to see me.
She snickered at the thought of her old flame. The only reason the two maintained contact was because he sold anything and everything any kind of slayer could need.
And, if it wasn't obvious before, she was a slayer.
She stuffed her silver bullets into the assigned slots, before spinning the barrel. Grinning at the clicking noise it made, before snapping it back into place.
She continued walking.
Quite some time had passed before she finally landed upon a certain alley. This alley had been said to harbour quite a dangerous vampire. A vampire who had been growing in strength recently.
The second she had heard the infamous, blood sucking bastard, Trafalgar Law was stationed here, she wasted no time in sailing to the island.
Tensions mounted silently within herself as she progressed deeper and deeper into the darkness of the narrow passage.
And as she approached its end, it became evident the creature wasn't here.
Honestly, a small part of her was relieved. Even if he was a vampire now, she would still feel pain if she had to kill him. The childhood friend of whom plucked her from the claws of death out of sheer kindness.
But those days were gone. The good old days where they were childhood sweethearts. Not worrying about the threats of tomorrow.
It struck her heart with a sincere pain as she remembered the both of them being sent to a boy/girl home for rejected kids. It was there he was taken under the wing of a vampire, and she was take by a Hunter.
The next memory that swarmed her brain was the betrayal. The memory of him finding her years later, hiding his true identity, and making her fall in love with him. Using her and taking her first time, as well as her second, third and forth, then telling her the truth. Only to leave her.
Sighing, she shook the thoughts from her brain, and turned to leave the dark area.
Only to be greeted by a silhouette. A deep voice floated into her ears.
"Been a while, (y/n)."
He purred, stepping forth from the darkness. The moon light catching his sickly white skin perfectly. A grin shaped his pale lips,light reflecting of the small needles that hung just past his upper lip. His hair was still that midnight black mess on top of his head. Eyes still the same firey yellow.
"Trafalgar. How did you know it was me?"
She blurted. Curious to know how he recognised her after she dyed her hair (h/c) and grew it out.
"My my, do I have such an affect on you, that you forget everything you know about my kind?"
He chuckled, and within a second, he was behind her. Long, pallid fingers tilted her chin towards the moonlight as he buried his face in her neck, from behind.
Taking a deep breath through his nose, he shuddered.
"I could never forget such as sweet smell as you, darling..."
He breathed, tongue dragging across her skin in a way that made her spine rattle.
She quickly shoved herself away from the man, whipping around and shoving the shiny revolver in his face. Her glare was numerous to him, as he decided to play along, and raise his hands in mock surrender.
"Come on,Love. We both know you wouldn't shoot me."
He states,hands remaining by his head as he points one finger towards the gun.
Growling, she pushed the gun closer.
"Don't call me love, nor your 'darling'."
She spat, words laced with a venom that had the potential to weaken any man's resolve.
"You lied to me. You built me up to the highest I've ever felt,"
She began, stepping closer to him. Her gun now pressed firmly against his forehead. Her face came within inches of his own, her breath ghosting against his lips that tingled with pleasure.
"Only to knock me down."
She growled, voice easily comparable to the angry growl of a dog which has had no food for days, and is suddenly presented with chunk of meat.
He grinned wickedly.
"Well done, very intimidating."
He cackled, swatting the barrel of her gun away as if it were no more then a pesky fly.
"However, instead of killing me..."
He drawled slowly, hand creeping to slip the weapon from her hand as he ensnared her within a golden gaze.
"You allow me to take you..."
"T-take me?"
She gasped, feeling his body suddenly upon her own. Feather light kisses raining on her neck. He felt a shudder shoot through his body upon finding her pulse. A shaky sigh crawling from his throat.
"Yes, darling. Take you... Make you my own. We can travel together, be together forever. An eternity. All it takes is a bite..."
He breathed, the sharp tips of his fangs cutting his lower lip as they began to extend.
The girl thought. She hated it, but she genuinely pondered the offer.
What would it be like? Never to see the light of day, without being burned horrifically? Having to watch those I love, die of old age while I live on?
"Say yes, darling...you know you want to."
He muttered, lips still hovering over her pulse. A harsh lump was swallowed within her throat, as, slowly, her head bobbed up and down in a nod.
A large grin,once again, claimed his lips. Finally, he would have her. That woman of whom he had wanted for far too long.
His lips parted, his hot breath hitting her neck. She closed her eyes and prepared for what was going to happen.
When she felt it.
The sharp, burning pain of something entering her body, that was not supposed to be there.
The burning pain, of the vampire bite.
