Ella Frazier

"Ella Mae Frazier, come on let's go!" I hear being shouted from down the hallway

"Harry Edward Styles, don't rush me!" I shout back in a fit of laughter as I shove my foot into my black high-top converse and walk over to my body-length mirror, giving myself one last look before grabbing my purse and heading out of my bedroom.

We are going to lunch for Harry's work, so I decided to dress a little more casually. I have on a pair of green checked pants with flared ends and a simple white tank top.

I make my way down the hall, reaching into my purse and pulling out a stick of gum. I unwrap the gum and pop the stick into my mouth, wadding up the wrapper and bringing it to the trashcan.

"Jesus," Harry says from the living room and I pick my eyes up to meet his. A smile graces my face as he walks to me, reaching his hand out for me to take. Once our hands are connected, he lifts them into the air and spins me in a circle. I feel his eyes travel up and down my body, the heat rising onto my cheeks from being under his stare.

"You look amazing as always," He says, giving me a kiss on the cheek once I am facing him again

I let my eyes trail down his outfit now, taking in the pair of ripped jeans and white t-shirt he has on. "Same to you," I say with a smile, dropping our hands now.

Harry pulls his keys out of his pocket, swinging them around his finger as we make our way to the front door of my apartment. He waits for me as I lock the door, reaching to hold my hand as we make our way down the stairs and into the lobby.

"We don't have to be there long. Just grab some food, talk a little, and then we can head out, sound good?" He says as he opens the door to the lobby for me.

"Yea works for me, we can come back to my place tonight if you want, don't know what you have planned for later," I explain as we walk side by side to his car

We both climb into our respective seats and Harry starts the car. "Sounds like a plan," he says as he turns up the volume of the radio and grabs his sunglasses from the console, pushing them onto his face. He backs the car out of his parking spot and starts in the direction of his boss's house.

Harry rolls down our windows, propping his elbow against the door while placing his other hand on my leg, all while driving. I turn my head to him, watching as he mouths the words to the song on the radio, which I now have picked up on as being "Kiss me thru the phone" by Soulja boy. The wind from the car blows his shoulder-length hair around his face, making me smile as I watch him shake the stray pieces out of his face every now and then.

As I stare at him at this moment, I can't help but think about how grateful I am to have Harry in my life. We have been together for about five months now, having met at one of these work parties ironically. My sister Mia's husband Wyatt works for the same company as Harry and had invited me to tag along with them to a dinner one night. I was reluctant to go along with them mainly because I didn't know anyone, but I've never been happier with a decision Ive made. It brought me him.

I think I knew from the moment that I met Harry, that he was going to be someone special in my life.

I guess I was just never aware of how special.

"Baby kiss me through the phone," Harry sings to me as we stop at a red light, turning his head to face me and drawing out the end of the last word. I let out a laugh, leaning over the console of the car to give him a quick kiss before moving back to my seat.

After a few more songs, we finally made it to his boss's house. Harry meets me at the front of his car, grabbing my hand as we walk to the gate which leads to the backyard. The sound of his coworker's voice gets louder as we approach the gate, and suddenly I start to feel a lot more nervous than I was in the car. Harry moves around me, stopping in front of me right before the gate.

"Don't be nervous, El," He reassures me, " your sister and Wyatt are in there, so there's no need to worry." Im not a huge fan of big gatherings, but over time I've gotten better since Harry usually brings me along to all of these dinners or lunches. Nonetheless, I still get worried sometimes.

I take a deep breath and give him a nod. "Im good," I smile and he places a hand on my lower back, pushing the gate open and moving me forward. My eyes instantly scan around the groups of people to find my sister, spotting her over at a table with Wyatt and a few other familiar faces.

She notices our arrival, instantly perking up upon seeing me. I lean back into Harry's body, letting him know im going to go over to Mia's table and he lets me know he'll be over in a second. He gives me a kiss on the cheek before I leave, making me smile on my journey over to Mia.

"It's sickening how cute you guys are," Mia says as I take a seat next to her

"Thank you," I joke, leaning forward to wave at Wyatt who is on the other side of Mia. He sends me a nod and a smile, before re-entering the conversation he was having beforehand.

Harry comes over to the table after a few moments, sitting in the seat across from me and placing a water bottle down in front of me while he twists the cap of his own off and takes a sip.

"How are you, Mia?" Harry asks

"Im doing good, Harold, and yourself?" she chuckles

"Better than ever," He says, shooting me a look that makes my stomach fill with butterflies.

Wyatt leans over, catching Harry's attention, "They set up the cornhole game," he says, pointing over his shoulder to the open space in the backyard. Harry lets out a deep laugh, as he and Wyatt both stand from their chairs. Mia and I share a confused glance with each other, then turn our heads to our respective partners.

"Get your ass up, boys against girls let's go," Wyatt says, lifting Mia up by the armpit.

"Calm down, Hulk, Im getting up," She says, following behind Wyatt who has already started walking to the wooden boards.

Harry waits for me to stand up from my chair, walking beside me as we journey to our side of the boards. "Wanna make this a little more fun?" he says to me with a smirk.

"And how would you suggest we do that?" I respond, raising my eyebrows at him. Harry leans down to grab the pile of red bean bags off the top of the board. I hold out my hand and he sets them in my palm, "If Wyatt and I win, you have to go on a date with me."

"And if Mia and I win?" I question back to him

"That won't happen," He laughs

I chuckle at his offer, finding it completely charming that even after being together for a while, he still likes to make a little game of asking me on a date when he knows that he could simply ask me and I would say yes.

I collect all the bean bags in the crevice of my elbow, holding out my hand to shake with Harry. "Alright, big shot," I say with a smile, "Deal. But I get to pick the movie, I don't want to watch The Notebook again"

"No nope," Harry tells me, and eventually I give up on trying to change his mind. He laughs as he turns to face Wyatt, cupping his hands around his mouth, "I have a lot at stake with this game Wyatt, don't let me down!"

"I could never do that to you, Styles!" Wyatt shouts back

**********

In high school, we had a whole unit in gym class about how to play cornhole. They taught us how to properly do the scoring system, the correct way to throw the beanbags, and all the little tips and tricks of how to successfully win any match that you play.

Sadly, they started teaching the unit after Mia graduated, which is why she is absolute shit at cornhole.

"I told you I wouldn't let you down!" Wyatt shouts as he shimmies his way through the crowd of their coworkers who found our game to be a good source of entertainment, probably after hearing the shouting coming from Mia and Wyatt. Wyatt runs over to our side of the boards, wrapping his arms around Harry's waist and lifting him into the air.

I slap my hand over my mouth to cover my laughter as Wyatt spins Harry in a circle. Harry's eyes widen and a smile flies onto his face, laughter soon erupting from him as Wyatt continues to spin them both in a circle of celebration. After Wyatt sets Harry back down on the ground, he runs back over to Mia, probably to make fun of her some more for being terrible at this game.

Harry walks over to me again, stumbling a bit on the first step due to being dizzy from Wyatt spinning him. I shoot my hand out to help him stabilize himself, but he waves me off with a bit of laughter. Once he reaches me, he places his hands on his hips and pops his right hip out. I lift my eyebrows at him, waiting for his smartass comment about how Mia and I lost.

"Guess who has to go on a date with me?" He says with a wide grin spread across his face.

I playfully roll my eyes at him, pushing his shoulder so that he stumbles backward a bit. He catches himself before he falls, standing up and coming up behind me, wrapping his arms around my neck in a hug, and turning us to look at Wyatt and Mia. I place my hands on his arms, slightly swaying us from side to side as we stand watching Mia stare at Wyatt unamused, who is doubled over in a fit of laughter.

"You getting hungry?" Harry leans forward to whisper into my ear, and I shiver at the feeling of his breath against my skin.

"A little bit yeah," I say, turning my head so I can see him while still being wrapped in the warmth of his arms.

"Come on," He says, dropping his arms from my neck and placing a hand on my lower back, guiding me over to the table where the food has been laid out.

I grab a plate, fill it up with some of the vegetables on the table and grab a cheeseburger. I walk over to Harry's boss, Matt, thanking him for the food before walking back over to the table that the four of us were previously sitting at. A few minutes later, Wyatt, Mia, and Harry join me at the table, all of us digging into our food.

I wipe my mouth with my napkin, swallow the bite of food in my mouth and look up at Mia, "Did you guys have a bet or something too?"

"Yes," Mia says sharply, setting down her plate of food and sitting in her seat with a huff.

"And it was?" Harry adds on, the corners of his lips turning up as he messes with a slice of cucumber on his plate

Mia goes to open her mouth, but Wyatt beats her to it, the excitement clearly getting to him, "She has to get her nipples pierced," he says with a giggle.

I drop my smile, turning my head to my sister and staring at her. She slowly lifts her head up to look back at me, "In my defense, I had faith that you would carry us to victory."

Harry lets out a high-pitched laugh from beside me, instantly slapping his hands over his mouth. I shoot him a wide-eyed glare, and he drops his head down to his food, picking up his burger and taking a bite.

I turn my head back to Mia, who gives me a glare that lets me know she wants to drop the conversation, so I do. "Mia, how is work going?"

She clears her throat, "Good, some little girl in my class yesterday threw a lego at another kid but other than that the kids have been fairly easy since the beginning of the year."

"Great, Wyatt?"

"Um, good as well," He points to Harry, "We have both been doing really well with the sales for our company, to be honest. Couldn't be better."

I nod my head in response as Harry begins to discuss with Wyatt all about his job. I have tried to learn what he does, and I understand some of it, but sometimes the topic is still a little hazy to me. Im getting there though, it'll just take a little more time.

Nevertheless, I like to watch him as he talks about his job. He is so passionate about what he does, that I can't stop myself from feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness for him. It makes me melt to see him so excited about something that he does for a living.

*******

After a little more conversation, Harry and I decided that it was time for us to head out. We made sure to stop and say our goodbyes to his coworkers and his boss, thanking him once again for having us over and for the delicious food.

We get to the car and I reach to open the passenger door, getting cut off by Harry's body flying in front of me. He leans his back against the door, locking his hands behind his back as he looks at me. "I will open the door for you like a true gentleman, just give me a kiss first please," he says, puckering his lips.

How can I say no to that?

I take a step forward, pressing my lips to his. Harry's hands come around from his back to land on my waist, pulling me closer to him so our bodies are flush together. I smile into the kiss, before pulling back. I watch as his eyes flutter open, revealing the gorgeous green color. He gives me a smile before stepping to the side and opening the door, tapping me on the butt as I climb into my seat.

I shake my head at him once in the car and he closes the door, jogging over to his side of the car and getting in. He grabs my wrist, yanking off the hair tie that was wrapped around it and moving his hair into a bun, "Want to get ice cream?"

"I will never say no to that," I tell him, messing with the radio until a somewhat decent station comes on. Harry reaches into the console, pulling out two pairs of sunglasses this time, handing one pair to me and placing the other pair on his face.

Harry starts the drive to our favorite ice cream shop that is on the main street of the town that I live in. Once we pull into the parking lot, Harry holds his hand up at me, telling me to wait in my seat.

He climbs out of his seat, walks over, and opens the door for me, grabbing my hand to help me out of the car. I give him an appreciative smile as he walks us to the entrance of the ice cream shop. Once inside, we both order our flavors, Harry got mint chocolate chip and I got a strawberry milkshake

We both agreed that we didn't want to sit and eat at the shop. I take Harry's dish of ice cream so it doesn't spill as he drives back to my place, occasionally feeding his a spoonful of the ice cream. The drive back was filled with laughter from me as he sings the words to every song that came on the radio, grabbing my hand that held the spoon and using it as a microphone every now and then, at one point moving my hand so fast that a spec of ice cream flew onto his cheek.

It's moments like this that we share together, where I feel myself melt over him. When we first met, he was more closed off and reserved than I was. Over time, he's opened up more. He's so effortlessly himself at times like this and it makes my heart flutter to know that he feels comfortable enough to be his truest self in front of me.

I admire him in every way I can. How could I not?

"Why are you looking at me like that?" He says with a smile, catching me staring at him as he pulls into the parking area of my apartment complex

"I just adore you," I tell him truthfully with a child-like smile on my face, shaking my head at him

He pulls into a random parking space, throwing the car in park and killing the engine. He turns to face me, his soft eyes meeting mine before he plants a gentle kiss on the knuckles of my hand that he has yet to let go of, "And I adore you."

That feeling that I have grown oh-so-familiar with since meeting Harry swoops in.

Butterflies.
