Dad- "You know what I think? I think you were thinking of it in your head but you didn't expect to say it out loud to me. Am I right"?
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- " Well"?
Now...
Dad- "I asked you a question"
Lissy- I shrugged
Dad- "You know very well that I don't accept that answer"
Lissy- I rolled my eyes
Dad- "Allyssa McGarrett"
Lissy- "What"?
Dad- "I'm starting to lose my patience with you"
Lissy- I ignored his comment
Dad- "You are grounded until further notice. You have no access to anything. No computer, no phone, no tv, no friends, nothing. If you have homework to do on the computer you are only allowed to use it when I'm watching you. You are going to have very limited access to anything"
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "During that time you will have extra chores to do"
Lissy- "yippee"
Dad- "Cut out the sarcasm"
Lissy- "This is going to like every other time I was grounded. You're so strict in the beginning and then you ease up in the end"
Dad- "Allyssa enough with the attitude"
Lissy-"Are we done here? Like as in you giving me my punishments"
Dad- "Seriously Allyssa, what did I just say about your attitude"
Lissy- "as I care"
Dad- I took a deep breath trying not to lose my cool. "This is the last and final warning to keep your attitude in check Allyssa McGarrett. You are in enough trouble as it is. I highly recommend that you drop the attitude unless you want more consequences"
Lissy- I fought the urge to roll my eyes
Dad- "And to answer your question about if I were done discussing with you what your punishments are. We aren't done. You won't be receiving your allowance for a while'
Lissy- "What do you mean"
Dad- "Exactly what it means"
Lissy- "So I won't be receiving any allowance"?
Dad- "Correct"
Lissy- "But that's not fair"
Dad- "In what part should I be fair'?
Lissy- " But what if I need to go shopping"?
Dad- "You won't be doing any shopping for a while"
Lissy- "Can't I get a second chance"?
Dad- I shook my head no
Lissy- "Come on Dad! I got a second chance with the store. Your not being fair"
Dad- "I don't always have to be fair Allyssa. Besides not having your allowance for a while isn't the worst thing that could happen"
Lissy- "What's that suppose to mean"?
Dad- " It means that you should be grateful that the store didn't press any charges against you"
Lissy- "Are you saying that you wished they pressed charges against me"?
Dad- "No, of course, I don't want it to happen to you. But if it gets you to realize the consequences for stealing then yes."
Lissy- "The only reason they let me off is that they know who you are. No one would press charges against me."
Dad- "Whether they know me or not this doesn't give you a free pass every time."
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "Look I'm not going to be able to get you out of every time you get yourself into trouble. Will I be there for you and try to help you out. Of course, I would, but you got to learn from your mistakes. You need to think before you do something and also think about whatever you are about to do. Could there be consequences, could I put myself or others into danger, or is it worth doing"
Lissy- "It's not like this happened before"
Dad- " Do I need to remind you that you have stolen before Allyssa. And you told me that you weren't going to steal again. But yet here we are"
Lissy- "whatever"
Dad- "Hey, watch it"
Lissy- "Ugghhh....whatever"
Dad- "Allyssa..." I said warningly
Lissy- "What? Are you going to tell me that this is a big deal? Because you know what? It's not. It's not a big deal. It's a big deal because you're making it into a big deal when it's not...."
Dad- "Allyssa," I said in a warning tone again
Lissy- "I don't give a fuck for what I did. I don't see what I did was wrong. I accidentally walked out and yet you act as if I stole...."
Dad- "Allyssa McGarrett," I said getting irritated slightly
Lissy- "For crying out loud I'm a fucking teenager but yet whenever I do something you get all upset over it when what I did isn't important or huge. I Hate all your stupid rules and the way you blow this out of proportion"!
Dad- "Are you done"?
Lissy- I nodded
Dad- " I get that you upset that I making this into a big deal. But what kind of parent would I be if I didn't? What kind of father would I be if I didn't care when you do something you are not supposed to do? What kind of father would I be if I didn't love you enough to punish you"?
Lissy- I shrugged my shoulders.
Dad- "Well"?
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- " I asked you a question"
Lissy- "I don't v
Dad- "I would be a bad, stupid, dumb, and careless father to you. And your right there are times I do blow things out of proportion but I don't plan to do that. The only reason it gets there is that you show me that you don't seem to care or realize what you did is wrong or is unacceptable"
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "I'll try not to make everything you do in the future a big deal but you also have to stop getting yourself into trouble"
Lissy- "ok"
Dad- "But stealing, I can't let that go. It's a very big deal Allyssa"
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "You know better than to steal. If you wanted those clothes you could've asked me to buy them for you"
Lissy- "What's the point of asking you when you would say no"?
Dad- "I may have or I may not have bought those clothes for you"
Lissy- "But I wanted those clothes"
Dad- "Does it give you a reason to steal them"?
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- " Does it"?
Lissy- "no," I said quietly
Dad- "I can't hear you"
Lissy- "No"
Dad- "Like I said you l won't be receiving any allowance"
Lissy- "For how long"?
Dad- " Haven't decided yet"
Lissy- "What's that suppose to mean"?
Dad- " It means that I haven't decided how long it will be until you get it back"
Lissy- "that's stupid" I mumbled
Dad- "Excuse me"?
Lissy- " nothing"
Dad- "Also an addition to that..."
Lissy- "What! There's more! Come on Dad! Isn't being grounded and taking away my allowance good"?
Dad- "Considering earlier you thought what you did wasn't a big deal and you argued about being grounded. No"
Lissy- "So you decided to add more just because of what happened"?
Dad- " No, what I was going to tell you to have nothing to do with what went on but I can easily add more if you want me to"
Lissy- "No, please don't"
Dad- "Then no more arguing and no more interrupting, got it?
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- " Is that understood"?
Lissy- "yeah"
Dad- "As I was saying when I do decide to give you your allowance back. I will be giving you a part of your allowance"
Lissy "What"?
Dad- " It means you will be getting half of your normal allowance"
Lissy- "So you're cutting my allowance in half? How am I supposed to buy things? I can't buy things with half of the allowance"
Dad- "No, but you will have to earn the other the other half"
Lissy- "What do you mean"?
Dad- " It means that you have to do chores or other things to get money"
Lissy- "So chores as in cleaning my room, dishes, taking out the trash, or vacuuming? I'll get paid to do those things"?
Dad- " No, you won't be earning money for those chores"
Lissy- "But, why"?
Dad- " Because you do those chores because you are a part of the family. Additional chores you can earn money, like mowing the lawn, washing my truck, cleaning the windows, pulling weeds, yard work, etc."
Lissy- "So I have to earn money to go shopping to do your shit'?
Dad- " Hey! What have I told you about watching your language"?
Lissy- "Sorry. But why do I have to do your chores"?
Dad- " I'm giving you ideas and ways you can earn the money but if you can come up with chores you can do to earn money. We can discuss them and see"
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "When we do get to that point when you can earn the money we will discuss how much money you would earn for that specific chore"
Lissy- "Why are you doing this"?
Dad- "Mainly to show you the value of money. So you can value what you buy and hopefully teach you to manage and be careful with your money on what you spend"
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "I know that you don't like this but it'll prepare you for the world. That you won't always get things in life for free. You have to work to earn the money in what you want to have or get.
Lissy- " whatever it's not like I have a choice"
Dad- "Technically you do have a choice. You can not do the extra chores and not go shopping or do the extra chores and go shopping. But you will have plenty of time to think of what you would prefer to do because the whole earning money thing won't be happening for a while since you won't be receiving your allowance at all for at least a month if not more"
Lissy- "What's that supposed to mean"?
Dad- " It means that for a least one month you won't be getting no allowance. Then after that, we will see if we will begin the extra chores thing for you to earn money.
Lissy- "So in one month I'll get my allowance back"?
Dad- " It all depends on your behavior and attitude during the next month. If you listen, behave, and be respectful then most likely yes but if choose not to listen, behave or be disrespectful then it'll be longer when you get to have your allowance back and earn money."
Lissy- "How long am I gonna be grounded for"? I asked
Dad- "Until further notice"
Lissy- "A month"?
Dad- "Allyssa you are grounded until further notice"
Lissy- "But how long"?
Dad- "We are not going to discuss how long you will be grounded for"
Lissy- "Why not"?
Dad- " Because we aren't going to"
Lissy- "But I want to know how long I'm grounded for"
Dad- "Allyssa enough. I'm not going to tell you how long you will be grounded for"
Lissy- "Why not"?
Dad- "Allyssa this isn't up for discussion"
Lissy- "But Dad"
Dad- "Allyssa enough"
Lissy- I rolled my eyes as I leaned back against the sofa
Dad- "Quite the eye-rolling Allyssa"
Lissy- I was about to roll them but then stopped when I saw the look my Dad was giving me. I leaned back against the chair with my arms crossed and pouted. My Dad went back to work and I sat there being bored out of my mind"
-15 minutes later-
Dad- "We will be leaving here soon so pack up your stuff"
Lissy- "Where are we going"?
Dad- "Home"
Lissy- "We're not going anywhere"?
Dad- " Nope, you are grounded remember"?
Lissy- "Yeah and"?
Dad- " It means you aren't going anywhere besides here and school"
Lissy- "That's stupid and boring"
Dad- "That is what happens when you are grounded. You don't get to go anywhere"
Lissy- "Yippee"
Dad- "Lissy just pack up your stuff please"
Lissy- "I know Dad, you just told me. Remember"
Dad- "Lissy"
Lissy- "What"?
Dad- "Just watch your attitude"
Lissy- "whatever"
Dad- I sighed knowing that this grounding is going to be a long one.

Sorry for not updating for like two months.....
I got sick (Not With Covid)
So haven't had the energy
And been busy with work and life
When I first started this I wasn't working so I had a lot more free time to write but now that I have a job I haven't had much time.
This is more like a hobby for me...something for me to do for fun or just do to when I have free time
Which isn't much lately....
