Emily jumped out of Damon's blue Mustang that he let her borrow for the day before she met Deaton and Scott at the sliding double doors of Richmond International Airport. Emily was honestly surprised that Stefan let her go out this far from Mystic Falls by herself but Stefan had said he had a lead on a cure for Damon, so Emily didn't say anything when they all just wanted to help the eldest Salvatore with his werewolf bite.
"You didn't have to drive us all the way out here," Deaton told the Radkova witch as they walked through the crowded airport, "we could have just gotten an Uber."
"I know," Emily murmured as she walked between Deaton and Scott before she added, "but it was the least I could do with everything that you've done for me." Emily honestly was so thankful for Deaton and Scott's help. If it weren't for them, she could have seriously hurt someone important to her.
"Again," Deaton began with a small chuckle before he told the blonde teenager, "it was an honor to be able to help a Radkova witch."
Emily furrowed her brows as she glanced over at the druid. "You've said that once before," Emily commented before she curiously wondered, "what's so big about helping a Radkova witch?"
Deaton shot the Radkova witch a soft smile before he mentioned, "I'm sure you know this already, but you are the last living true witch of the Protector of the Innocence and the Radkova coven." Deaton briefly glanced over to Emily before he informed the young witch, "your kind is very important in my line of work. I used to hear stories and stories about how major it was to have a Protector of the Innocence on your side. In fact, centuries ago, if a werewolf pack had a druid and a Protector of the Innocence, they were unstoppable and unbeatable."
"So, if you ever get tired of Mystic Falls, I would love to have you in my pack," the McCall werewolf joked as he jumped into the conversation. Scott may be joking around but he did know how big it would be if he had Emily on his side in Beacon Hills. They would never have to worry again for the residents of Beacon Hills when a bad person would come into town.
Emily released a small chuckle as she looked over to the McCall werewolf. "I think I'm happy here in Mystic Falls," the Radkova witch stated before she jokingly told Scott, "but thanks for the offer."
Scott lightly shrugged his shoulders before he teased with a playful grin playing on his lips, "eh, it was worth a shot."
The trio of the witch, the druid, and the werewolf shared a series of laughter together before Deaton continued to speak to Emily about their previous conversation as he told her, "if you would like, I could send you everything I know about the Radkova coven and the Protectors of the Innocence."
Emily's green eyes widened in surprise before she quickly exclaimed, "I would love that! The only thing I really know is from my doppelganger, Darina, so anything would be great, so I can understand more about being a Protector of the Innocence." The Radkova witch briefly bit down on her bottom lip before she mumbled, "at least then I'll know I'm not messing up or disappointing the past Protectors of the Innocence."
That was always a fear of Emily's. She was so worried that she would somehow disappoint Maria and Darina or that someone made a mistake along the way of making her the last Radkova witch. Emily just didn't want Maria's death to be all for nothing if she couldn't even live up to the name of a Protector of the Innocence.
Deaton placed his palm onto Emily's shoulder and gave it a light squeeze before he assured the young witch, "if you are one of the lucky few to be branded the name of the Protector of the Innocence, then that means you were picked for a reason." Deaton shook his head before he muttered as knew Emily must be feeling disheartened from her emotionless period, "this was just a small setback from gaining such strong powers. I believe you'll make everyone proud."
The Radkova witch bowed her head as a deep pink blush rose onto her cheeks. "Thank you," Emily quietly murmured before she stopped and turned to face Deaton once they reached the security area of the Richmond International Airport. "And thank you, again, for helping me get my old self back," Emily praised the druid before she mumbled, "I don't know what would have happened if I had done something worse to the people around me. I will always be thankful for all of your help."
Deaton shot the Radkova witch a soft smile before he murmured, "it was my pleasure, Ms. Gilbert." The druid reached across and squeezed Emily's shoulder before he told her, "stay safe. I'm sure I'll hear from you in the future."
"I will," Emily quickly promised the druid before she pulled him into a short, goodbye hug. The Radkova witch waited until Deaton had joined the line to go through airport security before she turned to face the true alpha.
"Thank you for your help as well, Scott," the blonde teenager praised the McCall werewolf, "It means a lot that you came all this way to help out a complete stranger."
Scott lightly waved his hand as to brush off the Radkova witch's praise. "There's no need to thank me," the McCall werewolf told Emily before he joked, "besides, we're not total strangers. We do have Stiles in common."
Emily released a small chuckle before she muttered with a playful roll of her green eyes, "of course."
Scott chuckled as well before he grew serious as he told the Radkova witch, "and about the whole helping out a stranger thing, it will come naturally to you the more that you become the Protector of the Innocence." The McCall werewolf pointed back over to Deaton in the security line before he stated, "that's one of the main reasons why Deaton noticed that I was the true alpha before I even did. It's in our blood to want to help innocent people."
Emily silently nodded her head in understanding as she took in the true alpha's words. "I think I've always felt that way with the people in Mystic Falls but I never thought about someone needing my help out of town," the Radkova witch stated. Emily honestly never thought that she would be able to help anyone. The reason why she was usually saving people in Mystic Falls was because they were usually her family or one of her friends, so she felt a duty to help them.
"If I ever need some help in Beacon Hills, I'll be sure to give you a call and we can test that theory out," the McCall werewolf joked as he shot Emily a teasing grin.
The Radkova witch playfully rolled her green eyes at Scott before she muttered, "thanks." The duo of the witch and the werewolf instantly chuckled together with small grins playing on their lips before a silent calmness had settled between them. "It was nice to meet you," Emily told the true alpha after she broke the silence.
"Yeah, of course!" Scott quickly exclaimed. "Despite the circumstances," the McCall werewolf mumbled with a small chuckle before Scott stated, "it was great to finally meet you as well."
The Radkova witch and the McCall werewolf awkwardly stared at one another for a few seconds before Emily lightly chuckled and pulled Scott into a tight goodbye hug. "Have a safe flight back to California," Emily murmured against the true alpha's chest.
Scott squeezed the Radkova witch to his chest before he quietly uttered by Emily's ear, "I will." The embrace lasted for about half a minute more before the McCall werewolf pulled away and he looked into Emily's green eyes. "I know I said I would love for you to join my pack but in all seriousness, if you ever need to get away from Mystic Falls for awhile or if you just want a break, you're always welcomed in Beacon Hills," Scott told the Radkova witch before he added with a small chuckle, "plus, I'm sure Stiles would go crazy if he saw you again."
An amused grin widened on Emily's face as she thought about the Stilinski boy before she murmured, "I would love to hear from Stiles again." A thought suddenly came to the Radkova witch as she pulled her cell phone out of the pocket of her jeans. "We should exchange numbers," Emily stated as she handed Scott her cell phone before she uttered, "I owe you one, so if you ever need help, I'm always just a call away."
Scott quickly pulled his cell phone out of his jeans before he handed it over to the Radkova witch. "I'll definitely keep that in mind," the McCall werewolf muttered as he typed his phone number into Emily's device. Scott handed the blonde witch her cell phone after he had added his number to her contacts before he informed Emily, "the same goes for you as well. If you guys are ever in too deep, I don't mind helping out." Scott released a small chuckle before he muttered, "I know I've never dealt with vampire before but I'm sure I could still do some damage."
The Radkova witch released her own chuckle before she assured Scott, "don't worry. I'm sure you will be just fine against some vampires. We have human hunters constantly going after vampires, so a true alpha should be able to handle a couple as well." Emily didn't doubt that Scott would be able to hold his own against a vampire -- especially when he was so much different from the werewolves in Mystic Falls. The red eyes would definitely put some fear into the vampires.
Scott nodded his head with a playful grin playing on his lips before he muttered, "well, that's good to know."
However, before the Radkova witch or the McCall werewolf could continue on with their conversation, Deaton loudly called out from this spot in the security line, "Scott! We gotta get going!"
Emily and Scott glanced over to the druid, who was waving his arm wildly over his head, before they noticed that Deaton was about to be next in line to go through security. "I should get going," the McCall werewolf told Emily when he turned back around and faced her.
"Yeah, of course!" Emily exclaimed with her green eyes slightly widened when she realized that she was holding the true alpha up. "I wouldn't want to make you miss your flight," the Radkova witch uttered with a light chuckle.
Scott shot the Radkova witch a small smile before he told her, "I'll see you around." The McCall werewolf waved his hand at Emily as a goodbye before he quickly turned around and jogged over to Deaton to go through security and so they could catch their flight back to Beacon Hills.
Emily stood there and waited until the werewolf and the druid had started going through the process of security before she turned around and headed out of Richmond International Airport. The Radkova witch jumped into Damon's blue Mustang once she got out to the parking lot and quickly left before the airport could get anymore crowded or she would never make it back to Mystic Falls today.
Emily drummed her fingertips against the black leather steering wheel as she listened to the quiet rock n roll song playing on the radio while she headed back home. Emily felt a sense of calmness surrounding her as she moved past that horrible event of her being emotionless. Emily was in no way happy with her life when her twin sister had just barely died but Emily did feel at content that everything was slowly falling back into place.
The Radkova witch was still struggling with her emotions over everything that she did while she was emotionless and she knew that wasn't going to go anywhere any time soon but Emily felt at peace as she headed back to Mystic Falls. Emily knew there was trouble still brewing at home with Damon and his werewolf bite but Emily believed that they would figure it out.
I hope Stefan found something, the Radkova witch thought to herself as she remembered how her boyfriend said that he had a lead on a cure for Damon's werewolf bite. That was all that really mattered now. Emily didn't like to see Damon in pain, so she really hoped that Stefan's plan worked out.
