He finished the song and looked at me. I was brightly smiling and I had tears in my eyes.
Sam- so Lilli... will you be mine? ...will you be my girlfriend?
Everyone looked at me. I let out a little laugh and I wiped the tears rolling down my cheeks. I nodded
Lilliana- yeah...
I stood up and Sam quickly walked over to me. He pulled me by my waist and passionately kissed my lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck while everyone clapped. I smiled into the kiss and so did he. We pulled out of the kiss with our foreheads still together.
Sam- I love you Lilliana Rose McGill
Lilliana- *giggle* I love you too Samuel Thomas
He kissed my nose and pulled me into a hug. I laughed and hugged him back. Everyone 'awed' and he chuckled.
Lilliana- well at least we don't have to tell each individual person we're dating. They already know
Sam- it's a win-win in my book
Lilliana- what's your other win?
Sam- you.
Lilliana- you're mine too...
I smile at him and he smiles back. Then the girls pull me aside.
Olivia- awww my heart!
Lilliana- you guys knew?!
Stacey- well duh!
Kristy- I can't believe my brother is dating one of my best friends
Mary Anne- I can!
Claudia- ahh you two are too cute I can't!
Olivia- I can't wait to go prom dress shopping together next year!
Lilliana- this was the best early birthday present ever!
Dawn- you're birthday is only in two months!
Lilliana- I know!
Olivia- Sam's is in a couple weeks, did you get him anything?
Lilliana- well yeah. I got him a new skateboard and a couple 'Beatles' and 'Queen' records
Kristy- he's gonna love listening to them with you
Lilliana- just makes it all more special
Then Liz and Watson walk over. So do Sam, Emmet and Oliver. Sam wraps his arm around my waist.
Elizabeth- ahhh omg, you guys!
Watson- congrats guys!
Sam- *laugh* thanks mom, and Watson
Lilliana- thank you...
Then my mom and dad walked over. Sam gulped and I put my hand on his and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
Mom- omg, my baby!
She hugged me and I hugged her back. Then my dad looked at Sam.
Dad- take care of her...
Sam- I will
Dad- welcome to the family, son
He hugs Sam and I mouth at him, 'Thank you'. He says your welcome and then Liz and Watson go and cut the cake. Charlie walked over and bro hugged Sam.
Charlie- that's my brother. Congrats Lilli
Lilliana- thanks Charlie...
He hugs me too and I hug him back. Charlie, Kristy and Sam were needed for more pictures with Liz and Watson, so Claudia went over with Mimi, and the other girls and I sat down at a table. We started eating cake.
Lilliana- mmm I forgot how good cake tastes
Dawn- mmm this vanilla custard... I don't even care if it's not vegan
We all laughed.
Stacey- I just keep checking my levels cause sugar town, here I come!
Lilliana- I honestly don't even care if I throw up later. I'll have Sam, and I'll know what cake tastes like
Mary Anne- I am so, so happy right now
Then Kristy storms over and takes a big bite of cake. She looks at us.
Mary Anne- are you ok?
Kristy- fine! Fine.
Mary Anne- did you ever find your mom?
She eats more of the cake and then takes a cupcake and bites out of it. I think we all took that as a 'no'
Mary Anne- you'll talk eventually. She's not going anywhere
Kristy- isn't she?
I give Kristy a small smile. Then Sharon and Richard walk over.
Sharon- quick Carbo load before the next hour on the dance floor! Mmmm
She takes a bite out of a piece of cake. Then Dawn freaks out.
Dawn- mom, no, no that's nut- that's Nutella!
Sharon- hm?
Dawn- hazelnut!
She then starts freaking out and she takes a napkin trying to wipe the cake out of her mouth.
Kristy- what the matter?!
Dawn- she's allergic to tree nuts. Cashews, hazelnuts, all kinds
Kristy- so she made my mom freak out over the fish, but forgot to mention she's allergic to nuts? That's like the most common allergy ever!
Dawn- there's an EpiPen in the car-
Richard- it's alright Dawn. I've got her
Dawn- really?
Richard- you stay. Enjoy yourself, your mother's in very good hands
Sharon- oh Richie. I'm just gonna stare at you until my left eye swells shut
She tells Dawn she loves her and kisses Mary Anne's head. Then Richard takes her to the car. I chuckle.
Dawn- my watch has ended
Mary Anne and Dawn laugh. All of a sudden Kristy gets up and runs to the bathroom. We all get up and run after her.
Mary Anne- where are you going?
We walk to the bathroom and lightly knock on the door.
Mary Anne- Kristy, are you ok?
Kristy- yeah. I guess it's my big day too
We all look at each other confused. Then it clicks, I whisper
Lilliana- she got her period
The girls say oh, and I take a pad out of my bag. I hand it to Kristy through the door and Mary Anne explains how to put it on. A few minutes later she opens the door and sees us.
Kristy- oh great, you're all here.
Dawn- why wouldn't we be? We're your friends and this is a big moment.
Claudia- we've all been through it. Now we can commiserate.
Stacey- and bring your own feminine products to camp
Kristy- yay
We all laugh.
Lilliana- how do you feel?
Kristy- like I want more cake
Olivia- makes sense
We all laugh at her. Then we hear a car horn honk. We all look at each other... they're leaving. We ran outside and saw Sam walking up the steps. He looked at Kristy
Sam- dude, where have you been? Mom's been looking for you?
She ignored him and ran up to the car. The car stopped and Liz hopped out. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Sam wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me and rested his chin on my head. We walked over to Kristy and Liz with the girls.
Kristy- oh, I got my period
Elizabeth- what?! When?
Kristy- just now, don't worry, it didn't get on the dress.
Elizabeth- baby, don't worry about the dress, are you ok? Do you know what to do?
Lilliana- we took care of her
Sam- not me. I don't have a clue what you're talking about
Lilliana- that's gonna be a fun talk
We all laugh.
Elizabeth- of course you did. You always do.
Kristy- oh, you should go, you don't wanna miss your flight
Elizabeth- we're gonna leave in the morning, we're gonna stay at a hotel. It's a little anticlimactic but I'm exhausted
They both laugh.
Kristy- I love you so much mom
Elizabeth- I love you too my baby. So much
They say bye and we all wave to the car as it starts driving away. I turn around in Sam's arms and kiss him. He kissed me back. Then the girls pull me away and we go inside. We dance around for a bit, but then Stacey and I have to go so we say goodbye. Then I walk outside and see Sam sitting there by himself. I sit down next to him and look up at the stars.
Lilliana- they're pretty, aren't they?
Sam- yeah. But not as pretty as you
I smile and lay my head on his shoulder. He takes his jacket off and lays it across my shoulders, and then he lays his head on mine.
Mom- alright, lovebirds, you'll see each other tomorrow
I giggle a bit and then stand up, Sam does as well and he gently kissed me.
Sam- goodnight babygirl
Lilliana- goodnight love
I smile at him and walk over to my car.
God I love this boy...
