The exam begins with Kirishima and Sato facing off with Cementoss. Izuku and I stare at the monitor as Uraraka enters the room.
"You guys are watching, too, Deku and Y/n?" Uraraka asked.
"Yeah. We don't have many chances to see other students and teachers fight." Izuku replies to Uraraka.
"I see. Well, for me... It's like there's no point trying to talk to him." Uraraka says, referring to her partner, Aoyama. "That's why I thought I'd try to use everyone else's fights for reference."
"Not a bad idea. We have to pass this exam by any means possible." I says before staring back at the monitor.
"Team Sato and Kirishima, practical exam. Ready, go!"
The battle begins with Sato and Kirishima using their Quirks to take on Cementoss.
Cementoss creates a number of cement walls to block their path to him, but they try to force their way through.
"You can do it, Kirishima, Sato!" Uraraka says.
"They won't win at this rate." Izuku mumbled as I nod. Uraraka glance at Izuku quizzically.
"Kirishima and Sato's quirk are amazing, but there's a limit to it. On the other hand, I don't think Cementoss has that." Izuku stated
"The practical exam is pitting students against teachers that will exploit our weaknesses." I added.
"That's exactly right. Before your own turns come around, you should think carefully about your compatibility with the teacher you'll fight." Recovery girl agrees.
Kirishima and Sato has reach their limit and Cementoss ultimately defeated them.
"Team Sato and Kirishima retires due to both members losing consciousness."
"Oh dear, it's only the first match, and I already have work?" Recovery girl says as she left.
"No way... It was this one-sided." Uraraka says, hand covering her mouth.
"Their Quirks are way ineffective against Cementoss. This exam is much harder than we thought." I says.
"On top of that, We are up against.." Izuku mumbles.
"Team Asui and Tokoyami, practical exam. Ready, go!"
The next pair to take the practical exam consists of Tokoyami and Tsu. Immediately their opponent, Ectoplasm, creates clones of himself that surround them.
He states that all of the U.A. teachers will not hold back and are doing their best to crush the students.
As soon as the battle starts, Tokoyami and Tsu use a combination move to get to higher ground. Tokoyami throws Tsu in the air with Dark Shadow, and she does the same to him using her tongue.
"They're good!"
"An escape only those two could pull off!! Izuku comments, "Though I don't see how Ectoplasm's Quirk will exploit his opponent's weaknesses."
"No, it's a bad match-up for Tokoyami." I responded.
"Tomioka is right." Recovery girl says, entering the room and went to her seat.
"Why is that?" Uraraka asked.
"You'll see."
The test continues as Tokoyami and Tsu try to escape through the upper floors. Ectoplasm uses his Quirk to create multiple clones that overwhelm Fumikage, but Tsu's support helps them both escape into a higher level.
"Tokoyami's strength is in the speed of his attacks, but his weakness lies in close range combat. I've notice that when we were sparring.
Tsu on the other hand seems to has no clear weaknesses and can provide great support." I stated and Recovery girl confirms that.
"And her ability to keep calm can provide emotional support to others in a crisis." Recovery girl added.
The duo reach the end of the labyrinth, where Ectoplasm's real body guards the escape gate. He commends them for getting past his other clones, but questions how they plan to deal with his next technique.
Ectoplasm uses his Giant Bite Detention technique to create a giant clone of himself that attacks and immobilizes the students.
Now trapped, Tokoyami summons Dark Shadow to have it try and escape. Ectoplasm repels it, as Dark Shadow can't compete in a hand to hand fight with him.
'With Tokoyami and Tsu unable, and Dark Shadow can reach Ectoplasm, there's only one option for them to win.' I thought.
Dark Shadow retreated and took something from Tsu's hand, she believes can they win because Tokoyami and Dark Shadow is so strong. In their final clash, Ectoplasm defeats Dark Shadow, but his leg ends up cuffed in the exchange.
"They passed! Dark Shadow and Frog! They were able to use both Quirks well together!"
"Yes! As expected!"
"Team Asui and Tokoyami have passed!"
The third match between Iida and Ojiro vs Power Loader begins next. Power Loader uses his Quirk to burrow underground and create pitfalls in the dirt field.
"Fusion!" Iida shouts.
Ojiro climbs on Iida's back and the latter uses Recipro Burst to run across the area. The ground collapses slower than Iida can run across it, but Power Loader intercepts them before they reach the exit.
"Oh no!" Izuku says,
Iida acts quickly and jumps before the holes form beneath them, then he asks Ojiro to wrap his tail around his leg. He uses to spin himself around and create enough momentum to fling Ojiro across the field in the air.
Power Loader tries to stop him, but Ojiro repels the teacher and crosses through the escape gate.
"Team Iida and Ojiro have passed!"
"Iida's quick-witted manage to get Ojiro out. Not bad." I remark.
"Yeah! They're both amazing!" Uraraka cheerfully says,
"Iida's so cool!" Izuku says proudly
"Also, I can't get out!"
"That's kind of uncool, though." Izuku added and I nod.
Afterwards, the fourth match begins. Todoroki and Yaoyorozu run through an urban city-like area while Aizawa searches for them.
I noticed that Yaoyorozu has desires to say something, but holds it back. 'You have to tell him Yaoyorozu, I know you have a plan against Aizawa.' I mentally says.
Aizawa suddenly appears from above them. Todoroki tells Yaoyorozu to run, which she did, and tries to hold Aizawa off, only to be swiftly captured.
Todoroki claims he can escape the restraints instantly, but Aizawa hands him from a light pole and throws caltrops beneath him before he begins to chase Yaoyorozu.
As Yaoyorozu makes haste for the escape gate, Aizawa chases her down and nearly restrains her, but she uses her Quirk to get out of the bonds. Then she runs back towards Todoroki.
"Why is she running back?" Izuku asked.
"She lacks confidence, which allowed her to rely to the strong." I answered Izuku.
Yaoyorozu regroups with Todoroki with Aizawa in hot pursuit, making Yaoyorozu too nervous to make a quick decision.
Todoroki encourages her to execute her plan instead, recalling that she may have wanted to say something at the start of the battle. He tells her to do it anyway because he believes she's better at it then him.
Yaoyorozu warns Todoroki to close his eyes and throws the dolls into the air. When Aizawa hits them away, they open to flash grenades inside.
She uses this opening to free Todoroki before they run away to try get out of his field of vision, but Aizawa stays on their tails.
"There's no way they could get out of Sensei's vision."
"No. There is. Sensei couldn't keep his eyes open forever."
Aizawa closes in and nearly restrain Todoroki, but is forced to blink, giving Todoroki the opening to create a giant wall of ice between them and they put Yaoyorozu's plan into action.
They move from behind the ice, wearing robes to negate Aizawa's Quirk, but he pursues anyway. He wraps them both up, but they reveal that the robes were covering mannequins. Yaoyorozu creates a catapult that tosses the cloth at Aizawa and Todoroki heats them up using his fire, restrains Aizawa completely and handcuffed him.
"Team Todoroki and Yaoyorozu have passed!"
I smile genuinely at the screen, nicely done you two. Tsu soon joins to watch the other match.
Later on, the fifth match reaches its climax. Uraraka and Aoyama are close to the escape gate, but Thirteen has them caught in her Black Hole Quirk. They hold on to a railing to avoid being sucked up, but Thirteen continues to get closer.
Uraraka suddenly lets go of the rail they're both clinging to, making me and Izuku surprise.
"Uraraka?!" Izuku exclaims
She flies towards Thirteen, which forces the Pro to halt her Quirk so it doesn't kill the student. As soon as this happens Uraraka uses martial arts to pin down the rescue hero. Aoyama jumps atop her as well, and they handcuff Thirteen to pass the exam.
"Team Aoyama and Uraraka have passed!"
"Nice judgement, Uraraka! I can't believe she thought to use her opponent's power to get in close." Izuku stated.
"Kero.. To me, it looked like Ochaco just happened to let go, though." Tsu says.
"I agree with Tsu-chan."
Iida and Yaoyorozu enter the room and Izuku congratulates them both on passing. We all watch as the sixth match Principal Nezu between against Kaminari and Ashido begins.
However, They spend their time limit running and trying to avoid falling buildings that cause by Principal Nezu. His Quirk gives him such high intelligence that he can predict the chain reactions of everything he destroys.
He destroys all of their paths to the escape gate except for one. Even so, Kaminari and Ashido run out of time before they ever even realize what Principal Nezu was doing. They fail the test and prove their weakness lies in facing intellectual villains.
Soon, Uraraka enters the monitoring room and is disappointed to see that Ashido and Kaminari failed.
"The Principal's strategy was too perfect." Yaoyoruzo stated.
"Uraraka, congratulations on passing!" Iida says
"Thanks! You too, Iida!"
"Ochaco-chan, when you were fighting against Thirteen, what were you talking to Aoyama about?" Tsu asked.
"Yeah. I'm curious too." I says,
"Hm? We were talking about..." Her face suddenly turns red. "..n-nothing! That's not how it is!"
"What's the matter, Uraraka? Your face is red. Are you sick?"
I followed at where Uraraka was staring and it was Izuku. 'Oh I see what's going on.' I sighed.
"Team Koda and Jirou, practical exam. Ready, go!"
Our conversation is interrupted by the start of the seventh match between Present Mic, Jirou, and Koda.
Jirou and Koda were running straight towards the escape gate.
"YYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Not long after, they are stopped in their tracks by Present Mic's incredibly loud and potent Quirk.
He continues to barrage them with continuous sound wave attacks that echo through the entire forest they're fighting in.
Jirou notices an ant crawling around that's unaffected by the sound and asks Koda if he can control it. However, Koda is far too afraid of bugs and runs away in fear.
'He hasn't overcome it yet.' I mentally says, 'But why do I feel bad for Present Mic like something creepy is gonna happen to him.'
The insects suddenly appear below where Present Mic was standing and overwhelm the hero allowing Koda and Jirou to escape.
As for us on the monitor room, we were terrified, except for Tsu-chan, and comments on how harsh an ending that was, while Recovery girl is disappointed her colleague was defeated by insects.
"Team Koda and Jirou have passed!"
During the eighth match, Shouji and Hagakure are pinned down by Snipe. They face off in a large corridor filled with large pillars to hide behind. Snipe throws a smoke grenade to fill the area with gas and destroys the pillar the students are hiding behind.
Shouji draws Snipe's attention and gets caught. This gives Hagakure the opening to handcuff Snipe.
"Team Hagakure and Shouji have passed!"
"As expected, Hagakure is a cut above when it comes to convert activities!" Yaoyorozu comments.
"Shouji also did a good job helping by drawing Snipe sensei's attention away from her."
"Team Mineta and Sero, practical exam. Ready, go!"
"Deku, Y/n, you guys are up next, right?" Uraraka mentioned, "Aren't you two going to exam area?"
"Yeah, it is, but we'll watch everyone's fight until the last minute." I respond to Uraraka as Izuku nodded.
"It's useful to see how everyone's using their Quirks, but also feel like I'm getting strength from watching them. Everyone's really amazing. Even if they couldn't pass, they fought until the end..."
"About that Izuku, there's one who already given up." I says as I point at the screen.
Then Izuku abruptly notices Minoru running away from Midnight screaming about how his matchup is totally unfair.
"Mineta?!"
Sero has already been subdued by Midnight's Quirk after saving Mineta at the start of the battle. We also notice that Mineta starts crying blood.
"Is he jealous of Sero?"
"Mineta.."
Recovery Girl mentions that U.A. might not be the right place for Mineta because he doesn't have any long time goals.
Mineta eventually stops running but Midnight pursues Mineta, forcing him to continue fleeing. Midnight believes she has Mineta cornered, reveals himself with Hanta's tape wrapped around his face to nullify Midnight's Quirk.
She tries to whip him into submission, but Minoru counters with his special move: Grape Rush. He uses his Quirk to stick Midnight and her whip to the ground far away from the escape gate as Midnight is impressed by his ingenuity.
"He had me completely fooled." Recovery girl admits, as the young hero drags an unconscious Hanta through the escape gate, ensuring their victory.
I silently chuckled as Izuku and I left the room without everyone knowing.
"Team Mineta and Sero have passed!"
As we run towards our exam, I asked Izuku once again, "So do you have plan?"
"We're up against All Might, we won't be able to beat him even if the three of us worked together. So I thought we should escape instead of fighting him." Izuku stated.
"Is that so. All right, then."
"Let's become a great hero so that we won't lose to the others in our clas.." Izuku stopped speaking and we slowed down when we saw Katsuki's figure in front of the gate.
"Oh right, Katsuki wouldn't like your plan. But I'll try to tell him."
"No. I'll do it. Aizawa sensei put us into team because of our negative relationship. Both of us needed to get along." Izuku stated as we approach the gate.
Katsuki glance at us and glares at Izuku before he turn away.
"Team Midoriya, Tomioka and Bakugou, practical exam. Ready, go!"
