potato lentil salad

at a trendy cafe,

words drift by like names

dropped:

"all men are liars"

and beyond the roaring 20's

big band bugles

is the tofu meat loaf

and a man outside,

old and barefoot in a

cold Toronto spring and he's

watering

the flowers with

a hose.
