*Car Ride*
Dad- "Remember that I'm trusting you to behave today with your friends," I said
Lissy- "I know Dad," I said
Dad- "Please don't make me regret this, I said
Lissy- "You won't Dad. Don't worry." I said
Dad- "Let's hope not. I don't want to get a call"
Lissy- "You won't Dad"
Dad- "Watch it, Allyssa"
Lissy- "Sorry"
Dad- I drove into the mall parking lot and pulled in front of the mall. "Do you have everything"?
Lissy- " Yup. Got my phone, wallet, and pepper spray" I said holding up the things to show him that I got it. One time I forgot about them and he wasn't happy that I did.
Dad- "Good. I'll pick you up in a couple of hours. Right now it's 3:00, ill pick you up at 5:00. Got it"?
Lissy- " Uh-huh," I said as I unbuckled my seatbelt
Dad- "Have fun"
Lissy- "I will," I said opening the door
Dad- "Bye. Love you"
Lissy- "Bye Dad. Love you too" I said as I got out
Dad- I watched her and her friends go into the mall. I pulled away from the curb and went to Danny's house since he invited me over to hang out with him since Lissy was with her friends.
*Mall*
Lissy- "Where should we go first"? I asked as my friends and I walked in
Jamie- " Definitely Pac Sun"
Lissy- We all agreed on that and headed in the direction of the store.
-One Hour and 30 Minutes Later-
Lissy- After some shopping and looking around my friends and I decided to stop by the food court to grab a drink at Starbucks. We sat down at a table. "So I have 30 minutes left until my Dad gets me. Where should we go"? I asked as I sipped on my drink
Amy- "Wish we could ask our parents to give us more time. Like 30 more minutes"
Cara- "I'll ask my parents
Kelly- " Same here"
Jamie- "I'll ask as well"
Amy- "Guess I will too"
Lissy- "I don't know if my Dad would say yes"
Kelly- "Can't you ask your Dad to give you more time"?
Jamie- " Yeah Lissy"
Lissy- "I don't know"
Cara- "You could ask your Dad"
Amy- "Like we said just 30 more minutes"
Kelly- "Yeah it doesn't hurt to ask"
Lissy- "But we can do more shopping right now if we go"
Jamie- "But I want to rest for a while. My feet hurt from walking"
Kelly- "I also want to talk and hang out. Not just shop"
Cara- "Same here. We'll rest and talk for about 30 minutes then we can do more shopping"
Lissy- "I guess I c, an," I said pulling out my phone
Phone Call
Lissy- "Hey Dad"?
Dad- " Hey Lissy, everything okay"?
Lissy- "So I was wondering if you could give me 30 more minutes with my friends. So you would pick me an hour from now"
Dad- (no response)
Lissy- "Dad? Did you hear me"?
Dad- "I heard you. May I ask why"?
Lissy- "Dad"!
Dad- " I would like to know why Lissy. There has to be a reason why"
Lissy- "There is but none of my friends don't have to give their parents a reason why"
Jamie- "I had to tell them why"
Amy- "We all did"
Lissy- "Shut up"
Dad- "Excuse me"?
Lissy- " Not you"
Dad- "Then who"?
Lissy- "The other girls go permission"
Dad- "You may get permission from me to stay another 30 minutes if you tell me why"
Lissy- "But Dad"! I said irritated
Dad- "Allyssa you either tell me why or no"
Lissy- "We are all sitting in the food court wanting to rest for a little bit but we aren't done shopping yet. So if I have 30 more minutes we can finish up shopping"
Dad- "Alright you 30 more minutes to shop but we will be discussing the way you spoke to me when I pick you up. Understood"? I said sternly
Lissy- "Got it. Bye" I said
Dad- "Allyssa..."
End of phone call...
Jamie- "Everything good"?
Lissy- "Yup. Got permission from my Dad" I said putting my phone into my pocket
Kelly- "You're not in trouble"?
Lissy- "No, why"?
Amy- "The way I heard the phone call went it seemed like you are"
Lissy- "If I am I'm not going to worry about right now. I'm spending time with you guys" I felt my phone buzzing and I looked at it and saw my Dad calling me back. I ignored it.
Cara- "You're not going to answer that"?
Lissy- "It's no one important. Look can we go finish shopping? Before we all need to leave"
Jamie- "I agree"
Lissy- We finished our drinks then headed towards another store.
*American Eagle*
Lissy- We were looking around for a while when I felt my phone buzzed. I looked at it and saw that my Dad texted me saying he is running a couple few minutes late and he will text me when he gets here and then wants me to meet him at the same door he dropped me off. I texted back ok. "Hey, so my Dad is almost here"
Kelly- "mine is here"
Amy- "Me too"
Cara- "Mines is here as well"
Jamie- "Same as Cara"
Kelly- "Do you want us to wait until your Dad gets here"?.
Lissy- " Nah. You girls go"
Cara- "Ok, bye"
Amy- "Bye"
Jamie- "Bye"
Kelly- "Bye"
Lissy- "Bye" I watched them all leave the store. I then went to Abrecrombie & Fitch since it was in the same direction where I was supposed to meet my Dsd.

Lissy- I feel my phone buzz and saw that my Dad was here. I walked out the store when all of a sudden
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
Worker- "Excuse me, ma'am I need to look in your bags"
Lissy- "Why"? I asked
Worker- "Just to make sure you didn't steal anything"
Lissy- "But I haven't stolen anything"
Worker- " It's required when the sensor goes off ma'am"
Lissy- I watched as the security guard looked in each of my shopping bags.
Worker- I looked in her bag and automatically some clothes with the security tag on them. I grabbed them and pulled them out to show her'
Lissy- "Uhhhhhh"
Worker- "Ma'am you need to come with me," I said
Lissy- I sighed as I followed him to the manager's office.

Lissy- I'm currently sitting in the manager office.
Manager- "I'm afraid that I need to call your parents about this"
Lissy- "Do you have to"?
Manager- "I'm sorry but I have to"
Lissy- "If only you knew who my father was"
Manager- "It doesn't matter who your father is. You got caught shoplifting. Now I need to call your father or mother about this"
Lissy- "Okay but can I call my Dad myself"?
Manager- "That's fine but make sure he comes here"
Lissy- "I will"
Manager- "Alright. Do you need to borrow my phone or do you have a phone"?
Lissy- "I have my phone," I said as I pulled out my phone.
Phone call...
Dad- "Lissy"?
Lissy- "Hey Dad"
Dad- "I'm out here waiting for you"
Lissy- "Yeah about that"
Dad- "Did you forget where we are supposed to meet"?
Lissy- " No"
Dad- "Then where are you"?
Lissy- "I'm sitting in the manager office in Abrecrombie & Fitch"
Dad- "The manager office"?
Lissy- " yeah"
Dad- "What are you doing in there"?
Lissy- "I......uhhhh"
Dad- "Well"?
Lissy- "I was caught...."
Dad- "Caught? What did you do Allyssa"?
Lissy- "caught shoplifting" I mumbled
Dad- "What did you say"?
Lissy- "Shoplifting"
Dad- "Shoplifting"?!
Lissy- "Uh-huh"
Dad- "Where did you say you were"?
Lissy- "Abrecrombie & Fitch"
Dad- "I'll be right there"
Lissy- "Okay," I said
End of phone call......
Lissy- "My Dad said he will be right in"
Manager- I nodded

Manager- "Come in"
Steve- "Hi, I'm Mr. McGarrett"
Manager- "Steve"?
Steve- "Adam"?
Adam (Manager)- " I didn't know this was your daughter"
Steve- "She is. What happened"?
Adam- (Manager) "Your daughter was brought here when she was caught shoplifting"
Lissy- "I didn't do anything"!
Steve- "Allyssa"!
Lissy- " What"?
Steve- "What happened"?
Adam- (Manager) - "When she was leaving the store the censor went off because the items had the security tag on them. A worker from here confronted her when the censor went off and asked to her look at her bags. When the worker did, the worker found a few items from the store in one of her shopping bags. They brought her to my office.'
Steve- "Is this true Allyssa"?
Lissy- "No! He is making this up"
Adam (Manager) "With any cases involving shoplifting or other things I take a look at the security cameras to double-check. I also rewatch the footage to make sure what happened actually happened"
Steve- "Can we see the footage"?
Adam (Manager)- "Sure" I said turning my laptop towards their direction so they could see it. I pressed play on the video footage.
Steve- I watched the footage of Lissy grabbing items of the table and then looking around. She then stuffed the items into a bag and went on her way.
"I'm sorry about this Adam" I said when the video ended
Adam (Manager)- "While we don't condone stealing we won't involve the police"
Lissy- "You got to be kidding with me? The police? Seriously? For shoplifting"?
Steve- "Allyssa enough"
Lissy- I rolled my eyes
Steve- "Is there anything she needs to do'?
Adam (Manager)- "Like I said while we don't condone stealing. She does have to pay back for the items she stole"
Lissy- "I didn't steal anything"!
Steve- "Allyssa enough"
Lissy- "What"?!
Steve- "She will pay for the items"
Lissy- "Like the hell I'm not"!
Steve- "Allyssa Mckenzie"!
Lissy- "I'm not going to"
Steve- "Yes you are Allyssa"
Lissy- "No I am not"
Steve- "Allyssa McGarrett enough"
Lissy- I was about to say something but saw my Dads face but decided to keep
Steve- "How much"?
Adam (Manager)- "About $100"
Lissy- "It isn't a big deal" I mumbled
Steve- I sent Lissy a stern look and then looked at Adam. "I'll send you a check in the mail. You still live at the same address, right"?
Adam (Manager)- "Yes"
Steve- "And Allyssa you will be paying me back the $100," I said as I turned my gaze onto Lissy
Lissy- "But..." I started
Steve- I gave her a stern look and said "Enough Allyssa"
Lissy- "Fine," I said as I crossed my arms
Steve- "Does she owe you anything else"?
Adam (Manager)- "No she doesn't but if this happens again. I would have to take further actions and press charges"
Steve- "So you won't be pressing charges this time, correct"?
Adam (Manager)- "Correct. This time I won't but next time it'll be different"
Lissy- "Don't see why yall making this into a big deal" I whispered to myself
Steve- Even though I heard what she said I ignored it for the time being. "I understand and I can assure you that it won't happen again"
Adam (Manager)- "Let's hope not"
Steve- "Allyssa apologize to Mr. Adam for shoplifting and thank him for not pressing charges
Lissy- " What? Why"?
Steve- "Allyssa apologize"
Lissy- "No"
Steve- "Allyssa"
Lissy- (no response)
Steve- "Allyssa McGarrett"
Lissy- "What"?
Steve- "You are to apologize"
Lissy- "No don't see why I should"
Steve- I took a deep breath and whispered into but in loud enough for only she can hear. "You got three seconds to apologize or for six months every time you want to go shopping I will be with you"
Lissy- I looked at him to see if he meant what he said
Steve- "And I mean it," I said with a serious face
Lissy- I knew my Dad wasn't lying to m when he said that. I knew he would do that. That would be horrible to go shopping with my Dad for six months! After a second I said "I'm sorry for shoplifting and thank you for not pressing charges"
Adam (Manager)- "Apology accepted"
Steve- "We should let you go," I said standing up and held my hand out
Adam (Manager)- "Goodbye. Have a nice day" I said standing up shaking his hand
Steve- "You too. Let's go, Allyssa."
Lissy- I just realized that when we would leave he will yell at me even more than he did in here. And that wasn't yelling. Yeah, he raised his voice at me but it wasn't yelling....at least not yet... Who knows how we would react when we are alone. I knew the moment we get in the truck he will lecture me for what I did. If I sit here I don't have to go and deal with it. I shook my head no.
Steve- "Allyssa, now"
Lissy- I just sat there not wanting to go.
Steve- I leaned down to where she was sitting and said in a stern voice that she can only hear "You either get up from this seat or I will carry you out of here over my shoulder. It's your choice"
Lissy- I thought for a second and got up from where I was sitting. I then said "Happy now"? as I crossed my arms against my shoulders.
Steve- " Not with your attitude"
Lissy- "Ugghh," I said as I rolled my eyes
Steve- I sent a warning look. I opened the door and motioned for her to walkthrough
Lissy- I rolled my eyes as I went through the door. My Dad was right behind me.
Steve- We walked out of the store and headed in the direction of the exit where I had dropped her off since my truck was over there. Even though I was beyond angry with Lissy, I was trying to control my anger. As much as she deserves to be punished for what she did. I knew I had to calm myself down and also figure out why she did what she did. We got to the truck and I unlocked it.
Lissy- Once we both got in the truck we sat there for a good solid five minutes but in silence. I knew without a doubt he was angry with me and I also knew it took all his power not to spank me in there. A few seconds later he turned the truck on and we started to head in the direction of home.
Steve- As we started to drive home I took a quick glance over at Lissy and see her sitting there leaning against the car door and staring off into the distance. I honestly didn't know how I want to deal with this. Even though she deserves to be punished for stealing, I needed to figure out an appropriate punishment.
-Home-
Lissy- When we pulled into the driveway and the car stopped. I hear my Dad turn off the engine. We sat in the truck for a good few minutes not getting out or saying a word. I honestly didn't know if should say anything.
Dad- " Let's go inside," I said then I unblocked my seat belt and opened the door
Lissy- I unbuckled my seat belt and followed him inside.
Dad- We got inside and I said "I want you to go get ready for bed. That includes showering. When you're done we will have dinner"
Lissy- "ok," I said softly
Dad- "But before you do that, you are to put your phone and Ipad in my room"
Lissy- "Ok," I said heading upstairs
Dad- As I placed my wallet and keys down. I watched her go upstairs to her room. Few seconds I see her coming out with her Ipad and went to my room. I went into the kitchen to fix something for dinner.

*Kitchen*
Lissy- I came downstairs and into the kicker and found my Dad plating food. I sat down at the island. "thanks" I said as he placed the plate in front of me and I started to eat.
Dad- I sat down next to her and said. "We won't be discussing what happened right now but we will be later. Right now we can discuss other things"
Lissy- "ok. How was your time with Danny"? I asked
-20 minutes later-
Lissy- We finished eating dinner and I sat there watching him rinse off the dishes.
Dad- I turned around and faced Lissy as I dried my hands off as leaned against the counter.
Lissy- " So"?
Dad- "I've decided that for tonight it's best that we don't discuss what had happened. Instead, we will be talking about this tomorrow night"
Lissy- "why"?
Dad- "Because I'm not ready to talk to you about this. So please go upstairs and finish getting ready for bed. I'll be up there in a few minutes"
Lissy- "ok," I said as I got up and headed upstairs.

Lissy- I climbed into bed after brushing my teeth and washing my face.
Knock knock
Lissy- "Come in" Even though I knew who it was
Dad- "Ready for bed"?
Lissy- " Uh-huh"
Dad- I walked over to her bed and sat down at the edge of her bed.
Lissy- "Dad...im sorry for what happened today"
Dad- "Look no matter what you do and it disappoints me or angers me. I will never stop loving you. You know that right"?
Lissy- " I do"
Dad- "Let's not discuss this anymore until tomorrow night"
Lissy- "ok"
Dad- "I love you"
Lissy- "Love you too"
Dad- "Goodnight sweetie," I said as I leaned down and hugged her and kissed her forehead
Lissy- "Goodnight Dad," I said as I hugged him back
Dad- "I'll see you tomorrow morning"
Lissy- I nod my head and I snuggled under my covers
Dad- I walked out of her room and turned off the lights.
