I wasn't going to publish this part yet but I felt bad for you guys who care about Cedric so here you go:
Hari, not wanting to look at the girl, glanced around. She looked at the boy lying spread eagle on the ground and for some reason felt a brief feeling of relief as he stirred. He got slowly to his feet, staggering as he saw the girl kneeling emotionlessly next to the snakelike man with his hand around her throat.
The boy called out to the girl, scared. "Hari! What's going on?! Let go of her!"
Hari? But that was her name? What was going on?
The girl looked over at him, sneering as the snake like man let go of her throat. #) Oh, you're finally awake. I'm simply bowing before my master. (# The snakelike man ran a caressing finger down her face and Hari felt another jolt of pain.
"The Hari I know wouldn't serve any master."
#) Well pretty boy Digggory. (# the girl said, walking towards the boy, sneering, her movements lithe like a serpent. #) The Hari you knew lied, I've been planning this all along.(# she tilted her head questioningly. #) Did you really think I cared about you? You? A lowly useless hufflepuff. (# the girl brandished her wand, pointing it at the boy who backed away scared. #) of course not. Now bow to the dark lord. (#
"Never!" The boy, Cedric, his name was Cedric, said.
#) then you will suffer until you do. (# A small smile appeared on her face, it was cruel. #) Crutio (#
A split second look of betrayal appeared on Cedric face before he collapsed to the floor thrashing.
No this was wrong, something was wrong. That was her body, hers, what was it doing? She had to stop this, that was her friend! She tried to force herself back towards her body but it was like trying to swim through honey. She forced herself into her body as Cedric trashed, trying to take control.
She forced her wand up into the air, breaking the spell, and slammed back into her body, the shock and pain hitting her as the numbness disappeared like jumping into freezing water. She ran forwards, stepping between Cedric and Voldemort, wand raised, memories flooding back into her like a rising tide.
"I am my own person, and you cannot control me! You're not hurting him again!"
She reached out a hand behind her, pulling Cedric to his feet without taking her eyes off of Voldemort's red ones. Cedric stood shakily, holding onto her hand. She gave his hand a squeeze and was thankful that he returned it.
Voldemort, looking annoyed, simply waved his wand and blasted them backwards, binding them to a headstone outside the circle of death eaters with ropes. Their wands fell to the ground under their feet. He turned back to his Death Eaters and continued speaking to them.
"I remember only forcing myself, sleeplessly, endlessly, second by second, to exist. ...I settled in a faraway place, in a forest, and I waited. . . . Surely, one of my faithful Death Eaters would try and find me. . . one of them would come and perform the magic I could not, to restore me to a body . . , but I waited in vain. ..."
Hari stopped paying attention. #) I'm sorry Cedric, he was controlling me. I barely managed to break it. Are you alright? (#
"It's alright. I'm fine. Do you have a plan?"
#) Yeah, I'm going to do some things. I need you to not react so that we don't get his attention. Then we're going to sneak around the entire circle to the other side and I can reverse the portkey and take us back. (#
Hari took a deep breath, focusing. She'd transformed without a wand before but she needed to be fully concentrated. A minute later the fox dropped to the floor and Cedric managed to struggle out of the now loosened ropes. Hari transformed back, shushing Cedric as he tried to say something and handed him back his wand. She gestured for him to follow her and they started to sneak off around the edge of the graveyard. The were almost there when they were blasted back once again. They landed in the middle of the circle and Cedric's hand was pulled out of hers as he was yanked away from her by death eaters.
"Good try, but not quite. Hold him, he'll be our messenger for Dumbledore after I've killed her." Voldemort smiled cruely, his red eyes glinting. "You have been taught how to duel Hari Potter?"
Hari nodded, a sharp jerk of her head. She had had a useless dueling club at school. But last summer, Severus had begun teaching her. However she was out of her league, and even if she somehow managed to beat him. She would still be outnumbered by at least thirty to one? She knew he was facing the thing against which Moody had always warned . . . the unblockable Avada Kedavra curse. She doubted she could survive that twice.
"We bow to each other. Harry," said Voldemort, bending a little, but keeping his snakelike face upturned to Harry. "Come, the niceties must be observed. . . . Dumbledore would like you to show manners. . . . Bow to death, Hari. ..."
#) Dumbledore can go jump off a cliff, as can you.(#
Voldemorts lipless mouth was smiled. Hari did not bow. She was not going to let Voldemort play with her anymore before killing her ... she was not going to give her that satisfaction. . . . she just hoped he wouldn't hurt Cedric too much before he let him go.
"I said, bow," Voldemort said, raising his wand - and Hari was forced to bow, her body moving on it's own.
"Good girl," Voldemort smiled, and as he raised his wand. Before Harry could do anything to defend himself, before she could even move, the cruciatus curse hit her. The pain was so intense, so all-consuming, that she no longer knew where she was. . . . White-hot knives were piercing every inch of her skin, her head was surely going to burst with pain, hissing in pain.
Then it stopped, Hari lay on the floor, she could see Cedric struggling as he fought to get to her.
"A little break," said Voldemort, the slit-like nostrils dilating with excitement, "a little pause . . . That hurt, didn't it. Hari? You don't want me to do that again, do you?" Hari didn't answer. She was going to die, and there was nothing she could do about it... but she wasn't going to play along. She wasn't going to obey Voldemort... she wasn't going to beg. . . .
"I asked you whether you want me to do that again, or wether you wanted to beg for mercy" said Voldemort "Answer me! Imperio!"
Hari briefly felt the sensation that her mind had been wiped of all thought, then snapped back into reality.
She cocked an eyebrow, #) Go ahead. (#
"How did-? No matter. Crutio!" Hari ducked. She hissed and a swarm of birds burst from the end of her wand, swarming around Voldemort, distracting him enough for her regain her footing atop the rubble. She cast confringo after confringo from her footing atop a low flat tombstone. Voldemort blocked all of them easily, toying with her. Getting bored he began casting curse after curse, of which Hari barely blocked. Overwhelmed she cast a full shield and struggled to hold it while spell after spell made the cracks bigger. Taking her last chance Hari dropped the shield suddenly.
#explosion# was cast at exactly the same moment as "Avada Kedavra!" and their spells met half way, causing a massive explosion that threw them all backwards. Getting to her feet, Hari took the opportunity to run to where Cedric was. #Summon cup!# She hissed wildly, #) Hold them off I need five seconds, shield or something (#
She focused her magic on the very fabric of the cup, it's very purpose, reversing it. Cedric's shield shattered and Hari felt a spell flying towards her and pain flaring just as the portkey twisted the two of them into nothingness.
They slammed into the quidditch pitch. #) We did it! We escaped! We did it Cedr- (# Cedric was slumped against her. #) Cedric? (# He slid slowly to the ground, eyes empty and soulless. #)Cedric!(# Hari threw herself against him. #) Cedric... please...... please come back. (#
