I sat in the back of Allison's car, she had parked in Lydia's driveway.
I can't believe it's Jackson.
Derek decided to follow the kanima.
We all were still pretty shocked.
Allison turned to Lydia "i need you to promise us that you won't say anything to anybody."
Lydia nodded, freaked out " i will promise to say nothing but you have the tell me what just happened"
Allison sighed "it's complicated."
Lydia "how about you start with why was Derek there? where Jackson went? or what was wrong with Erica? or what Cori is?"
Allison sighed "Scott and i aren't allowed to see each other, okay? so it's better if you would keep what you know to yourself"
Lydia sighed" fine but i don't know anything. "
She got out and left.
I speeded in the front seat and Allison drove us home.
Next day at school. Gerard's office.
Allison and i were sitting in Gerard's office. Not like we had a choice.
Gerard "So who did you say where you two studying with tonight?"
Allison shrugged "just Lydia, we prepared for history"
Gerard nodded " I'm good at history. Your father and i have an enemy who killed one of our own"
I nodded "we've heard. We are sorry"
Gerard "Have you heard that your boyfriend Jackson didn't show at to school today?"
I shrugged "It's not my business anymore."
Gerard asked confused "Why? did something happen? i liked seeing you with him. You looked happy. "
I looked down "i don't wanna talk about it"
Gerard "I'm sorry if i said something wrong"
I shook my head "Not, it's not that but i just ended things with him and it's still too early talk about it"
Gerard nodded"my bad "
Allison "so..he didn't?"
Gerard "his parents called the police. You two wouldn't know anything about that, would you?"
We shook our heads.
Gerard "Well, let me tell you what i know. I know that a teenager's first instinct is to protect their friends"
He walked behind us.
Gerard "and i think that my granddaughters' first instinct is to protect their friends even if it means their lifes"
I could smell vervain on him.
Wait what?
Me "Gerard, i promised dad to call him. would you mind if i do that now?"
Gerard "go ahead"
I stood up and walked out of the office.
There were security cameras on the ceiling.
I breathed out annoyed "You've got to be kidding me"
Then I walked outside and there were cameras too.
I called dad.
Dad "Hi, sweetheart. what do you need?"
Me " Did you or Mom tell Gerard about me?"
Dad " Of course not. Why are you asking ?"
Me "I'm pretty sure i just smelled Vervain on him. Are you sure that Mom didn't tell him anything?"
Dad "i don't know, sweetheart . I know i didn't do it. "
I sighed "and what now?"
Dad " act like you don't know anything. I'll talk to your mother."
I nodded "thanks, dad"
Dad " bye"
I hung up and saw Allison walking to me.
Allison "Did you see the cameras?"
I nodded "Let's go to class"

I sat down next to Scott and Allison sat down behind me.
Allison whispered "Scott"
He didn't hear her.
Allison stood up "Scott"
Suddenly our mother came in.
Our jaws dropped.
I gulped shocked "Allison, please, tell me that this is not our mother standing there"
Allison breathed out "i wish i could"
Mom "your teacher was feeling ill today. So i guess, that you are stuck with me. Could anyone catch me up? Mr. McCall"
I looked at Scott whose jaw was still on the ground.
This is going to be fun.

The bell rang and everyone walked out. Alli and i grabbed our stuff and walked to the door but before we could leave mom stopped us.
Mom "Corina, Allison"
We turned to her.
Mom "i know it's hard, Allison. sitting here trying not to look at him."
She walked over to us.
Mom "think of how strong it makes you. You are not like the other teenage girls who are waiting for going to prom"
Allison "can't i just be strong and go to prom?"
Mom fake smiled "of course but with someone else. Remember as long as you stay strong..we won't have to kill a 16 years old boy."
I held back a growl.
Allison walked out but i stayed.
Me "Mom?"
Mom "Yes, sweetie?"
I changed my mind and shook my head "doesn't matter"
In the woods.
Allison and i walked over to Stiles who was standing by the van.
Allison "they know"
Stiles asked confused"what?"
Allison "They know Jackson is missing"
Stiles shook his head"no, they can't. i've been texting his parents since last night."
Allison "our grandfather told us that they went to the police. They know"
I held my hand out "Give me his phone. Let's see the mess you made"
He handed me the phone.
I sighed "of course they are looking for him"
Stiles asked confused "what do you mean?"
Me "He doesn't text his parents that often. And he definitely does not tell him that he loves them"
Stiles raised an eyebrow confused "how do you know?"
I answered irritated " I was his girlfriend, i have to know stuff like that"
Suddenly the radio in the van went off.
Stiles ran to it and turned it off.
At the cliffs.
We had changed location and got rid of Jackson's phone.
Scott had caught up with us.
They were talking about Jackson.
I walked to them.
Stiles "kill Jackson. problem is off."
I shook my head "we are not killing him if there is a chance to safe him"
Scott nodded "Cori is right. He risked his life for us against Peter, remember that?"
Stiles"yeah and then he got the bite from Derek. It's funny that everybody got what they wanted"
Scott "yeah but that doesn't mean that he isn't worth it to be saved "
Me "You can't blame him for wanting something."
Stiles sighed annoyed "it's always something with him"
Scott "He doesn't know what to do"
Stiles "so? He has no control of it"
Scott "neither have i "
He turned to Allison "You remember when i almost killed you and Jackson?"
Allison nodded.
I nodded "We all do"
Scott "i had someone to stop me. He has no one"
Stiles "That's his own fault"
I shook my head "that shouldn't matter, and you know that"
Scott "we should try to safe him"
I nodded "I'll talk to him"
Stiles shook his head "no way"
I shook my head " i wasn't asking"
Then I walked to the van and opened the trunk.
I got in and saw Jackson who was only dressed in sweatpants.
Jackson looked at me.
I sat down across from him.
It was quiet for a few seconds.
Jackson "Stiles told me what happened at school. I'm so sorry, Cor"
I shook my head "It doesn't matter, Jackson. It wasn't you"
Jackson "i could never hurt you, you know that, right?"
I looked down "you already did"
Jackson took a deep breath "So, I'm turning every night into this...?"
Me " Kanima. i should have known that it was you but i think i just couldn't admit it to myself"
Jackson nodded "neither could i"
Me "You eavesdropped, didn't you?"
He nodded.
Me "you're not not alone in this. you have me"
Jackson sighed "i've lost you and it's my own fault"
Me "The night the car mechanic died. I was sleeping next to you, Jack, the kanima could've killed me but it didn't. you didn't hurt me and you didn't hurt me at school either."
Jackson shook his head "I would never hurt you, not like that"
I nodded "and i know that"
Jackson pleaded "Cori, get me out of here"
I sighed "i can't, Jack"
He suddenly came at me but the chains were holding him back.
I shifted and growled "you sure you wanna try that out again?"
Jackson took a deep breath and leaned back "i'm sorry"
Suddenly he started to turn into the green snake.
Jackson "Cor, get out of here. Now!"
I couldn't move. I didn't.
He fully shifted and broke out of the chains.
The Kanima looked at me.
I was staying calm. Well, I tried.
It hissed at me and broke out of the car.
I followed him out and saw him disappearing into the woods.
Allison looked at Scott "I have to tell my Dad. Scott, he is going to kill someone"
Scott nodded"tell him everything."
Stiles sighed "Scott, i've gotta tell mine too"
Scott sighed frustrated "this is all my fault"
Allison shook her head "it's not but we have to tell them. We are just a bunch of teenagers. we can't handle this."
Scott nodded"you are right"
Allison looked at Stiles "How can you make your Dad to believe all this?"
Stiles sighed "i don't know"
Scott flashed his yellow eyes "He will believe me"
Sheriff station.
Scott, Stiles and i rushed to the Sheriff's office. The Sheriff, Mr. Whittemore and Jack were there. Jackson smirked at Scott and Stiles.
The Sheriff looked at us"Scott, Stiles, perfect timing."
Then he turned to me"Nice to see you, Cori"
I asked confused "What is going on here ?"
The Sheriff "have you met Jacksons father? Mister David Whittemore, advocate"
The boys looked at me confused.
I gulped " lawyer"
