I was frantic to receive the call from Blaire telling that Ariel was sick.

What kind of sick?

And how much sick?

The thought clouded my head with worry and paranoia.

I was sure to call her in the afternoon to make sure she was eating and taking rest in between.

Leaving the house today had turned out to be a bad decision, I think as I park the McLaren in front of the hospital gate.

It was a no parking but like I gave a damn at this moment.

"Ariel LaRusso." I say to the receptionist.

"Are you family?" She asks, it's supposed to be a precaution or her tone is supposed to be sweet.

Right now it just angers me.

"Family, yes." I reply trying to keep my temper at bay.

"In emergency room, five." She said with a smile handing me a digital card.

I almost rush toward the emergency unit to find Roman and Blaire sitting side by side.

I knew tadpole wasn't in her brightest of days this morning.

She was timid, she was calculated and gentle.

Too much gentle.

"What happened?" I ask as I approach the scene.

Roman stands and leads me away from Blaire's ear shot.

"Ariel supposedly, took your sleeping medication." Roman says.

"Doctors have her examining, but there is no news yet."

"Sleeping medication?" I ask. "Ambien?"

He gives me a nod.

Damn fuck, Tadpole.

"I suppose she wasn't feeling very bright today?" He asks.

"No." I reply earnestly.

She rarely feels bright.

And she'd feel a lot more bright if Blaire hadn't accused her of something she never did.

Their conversation from last night rang in my ears.

How Blaire had yelled and cussed at Ariel.

And how Ariel was desperately trying to fix the broken glass.

It pained me deeply to see her hurt and almost having a breakdown battling herself the night before.

"She will be alright." He says patting my shoulder.

I give him a polite nod before following him to the waiting lobby.

It was eerily silent.

I was drowning in silence and an ache bursting from deep within myself.
