Angelo Giovanni knew me

Angelo Giovanni knew me. He knew my body. And quite recently had, had started to learn my heart. Yes. I could say that he had already mastered some part of it. How?

Because sitting across from me, the man knew something was wrong. And so had knew that something wasn't in it's regular course the minute he stepped into the house. A bunch of freshly bloomed sunflower in hand. As much as I tried to hold my tears at bay from his sweet gesture. I couldn't. I couldn't stop my tears from falling.

With arms around me, the man silently rubbed his palms up and down my shoulders in a soothing touch. It melted me. My head rested on his chest, inhlaing his spicy colgone. A scent that has been my permanent source of comfort for quite a while now.

"Would you pour me some wine, tadpole?" Angelo asked his eyes raising to mine. But mine had been fixed on the plate of spaghetti I had made for dinner.

After so childeshy running to Alyssa's I ended up coming home just by sunset and making dinner. Angelo upon his return home found me in the kitchen fussing with the store bought meatballs, trying to get them to go with the pasta.

"Sure." I whispered pushing myself up from the chair and walking over to the kitchen where the bottle of Chardonnay sat, slowly coming to more of a room temperature. I hadn't taken it out before as a result the wine was a little on the cooler side of the scale.

Bringing the bottle to the table, I poured him a generous amount before returning to my seat. Taking a sip from his now filled wine glass, Angelo regarded me with calculating eyes.

"Mama Cora said she saw you at the esate today." Angelo says, twirling the pasta on his fork before taking a bite. "You seemed distraught."

My silence answered him. As much I didn't want to talk o Angelo about it, I knew he would get to know that I had visited the estate today.

"Is everything okay, sweetheart?" He asked, his voice gentle and soothing go my ears. Almost as if his word's were trying to caress the agony out of my heart. However it wasn't as easy.

"Mm-hm." I replied. "Just peachy."

"Did you see your friend?" He asked. His eyes still that of the one of an interogator but voice melting me like warm butter. Closing my eyes, I realised a shaky breath. A slight hint of smile playing on my face. Lies.

"I did." I replied, feigning a smile for the man sitting across from me. The last thing he needs is to get cought up between the issues of Blaire and I. It won't be fair.

Neither for him or Roman. I wouldn't want anything to wedge it's way between the brothers. Worrying him with the chaos Blaire has set up on herself and me won't be reasonable. "I did. It was okay."

"You've never been good at lying, tadpole." Angelo says. "The smile you put on trying to hide your lies doesn't flush your cheeks."

Of course, Angelo saw right through me. I sighed. "It's- it's nothing Angelo."
