There was some sort of after dinner meeting among the men.

Or so I could tell as the four of them made way into Angelo's office saying there was something to discuss.

Coralyn and Alyssa helped me clear off the table while Blaire fed Coco and I washed the dishes, put them in the stainer before walked out in the living room, wiping my hand with a flannel.

"Sit." Alyssa said with a grin on her face making space for me on the couch while Blaire cuddled Coco on the other and Coralyn sat with the throw blanket over her.

"Coffee?" I asked if they wanted any as I took my seat.

They shook their heads.

So, relived of the hostess duty I leaned back against the couch and tucked my feet under my bottom, getting comfortable.

"Did you like the presents?" Alyssa asked.

"I loved them." I say truthfully.

All of them bought house warming presents, bits of jewelry and something for the house.

Something for Angelo as well.

They rested on the centre table  unwrapped, red velvet boxes of the jewelry, a vase that Blaire chose.

Some show pieces that Donna Coralyn and Alyssa got.

Blaire bought Coco a bright blue collar with a bell.

And a matching leash.

I told her it was a cat's collar.

She replied. "Don't be specie-sist"

I told her that's not a word, while she fastened the bell collar around Coco's neck.

Coco loved it and gave Blaire a show walk, wagging his tiny tail behind him, proudly.

Fucking royalty.

She told me not to discriminate between species of pets, while giving me a dirty look.

Shaking my head, I had let the argument go.

Before dinner, as we received the presents, we also said a prayer so that food always stays on the table of this house.

The way the whole family, showed acceptance and blessed the table, it made me emotional.

Positively, of course.

I felt happy and accepted by them.

It wasn't for the diamonds or the gold or the presents.

It was how warmly they welcomed themselves here, treating this place and me as if they weren't guest but my own family.

It made me really happy.

It made me feel- as if I had some one to call my own and turn my head to, in times of need.
