I checked the food again then I made sure everything was clean in the kitchen. I was freaking out Antonio was picking up Eva and Diego and I was officially going to meet them. I was worried they were going to hate me. My phone rang it wasn't a saved number so I frowned I've been getting these at least once a day over the past week. They never said anything, I could just hear breathing then they hang up, I haven't told Antonio about it because he can get a little overprotective and I don't really think it's anything to worry about. The phone stopped ringing and I went to set the table when it started ringing again, I sighed and answered it

"Hello?" I said exasperated

"Hey we're back!" Antonio called and I jumped then put my phone down, and I took a deep breath then left the kitchen

"Hi." I said with a smile at they hung up their coats

"Hey.' Antonio came over and kissed my cheek then we faced the kids

"Eva, Diego this is Alayna, Alayna these are my kids."

"Hey guys I'm so happy to meet you." I said

"Hi." Diego said and Eva just stared

"We've met you before, when you were dad's doctor." She said and I nodded then looked at Antonio

"That's right she was, she saved my life." He said

"Are you guys hungry? I made spaghetti for dinner." I spoke up

"That's my favorite!" Diego said

"Alright go wash your hands and we can dig in." I said and he rushed off to the bathroom Eva looked at us again then walked away

"Hang in there cap," Antonio said kissing my head

"She hates me."

"She doesn't, she just needs to warm up." He said then pressed a kiss to my lips

"Are you hungry?" I asked wrapping my arms around his waist

"Starving." He said then kissed me again I pulled away

"Then go wash your hands too detective." I said then slapped his ass, he laughed then pulled away

"You're going to get it later doc."

"I hope so."

We sat down to dinner and it was silence at first

"Dad did mom tell you I won the spelling bee?"

"No way to go my man." He said giving him a high five

"Next week I get to go to the district finals, can you come?"

"Name the time and the place and I'll be there." He said without hesitation

"What about you Eva how's school?" He asked her

"Good I guess." She shrugged

"What kind of doctor are you Dr. Cortez?"

"I'm a trauma doctor, so I'm basically trained to handle all kind of emergencies."
