In a peaceful au full of stars, sat a peculiar skeleton. The skeleton kicked their feet out over the endless void as they counted the constellations.

They seemed to be waiting for something.

What they're waiting for one may never know. The skeleton closed their eyes in what seemed to be contentment as they basked in the beauty of this au.

The sound of grass crunching caused the skeleton to lazily turn their head to see who it was. It was another skeleton, this skeleton was rather short and wore a dark blue cloak with yellow specks and puffy cloud-like fur lining it. The cloaked skeleton walked over while our skeleton gave them a soft smile.

"Orbit, it's been awhile hasn't it?" The skeleton now called Orbit chuckled "That's only because you're workaholic." They teased as they sat down next to our skeleton. Our unnamed skeleton gave a huff before giving Orbit a playful nudge which brought soft laughter from the skeleton. They sat there in silence for a few minutes, content with just being in each other's presence before Orbit lightly frowned.

"So how long till it begins?"

The unnamed skeleton sighed as they looked down at their lap "Soon." Orbit hummed in acknowledgement before they too fell silent. They gently grabbed one of the skeleton's hand and interlocked their fingers in attempt to give the other comfort. The said skeleton looked up into Orbit's eyes, "No matter what happens after this please remember, I'm your best friend so I'll be there for you through thick and thin." He said as he used his other hand to make a determined fist. The other skeleton gave a shaky laugh "I'll remember, I promise." Orbit gave a nod, happy with the answer.

The ground began to shake, certain areas around them began to glitch.

Orbit sighed sadly "Guess it came sooner than we thought, huh?" He turned to look at the skeleton, who closed their eyes and took a shaky breath in, "I-I guess s-so." Orbit gave the skeleton a sympathetic and knowing look "You know it's alright to cry right? Ain't nobody judging you here." He says as he wraps his arms around the taller skeleton.

Then the dam broke down.

The skeleton clung to Orbit, tears leaking out of their eyesockets "I d-don't want y-y-you to go!" He softly patted their head "Hey it's not like it's forever! You'll see me again it'll just be. . .different." The skeleton gave no reply.

The glitching and shaking got worse, time was almost up.

Orbit gave the skeleton a forehead kiss before whispering "See you later, best friend. Be brave, it'll all get better soon."

And with that the skeleton stumbled forward as they no longer had anything to cling too. They sat there for who knows how long listening to their tears *Plip plap!* onto the white ground, echoing throughout the blank empty space.

They felt a tug and began to wipe their tears away. When the tug grew stronger the skeleton gave a sad small smile "See you later, old friend." And with that they were gone too, brought to a similar white space to stay there till the multiverse decided to start once more.
