Eve's POV:

"I wanna try out for the music program," I say to Luke as he closes his locker.

Spending time with the boys has really brought out my confident side. I've begun cracking jokes, saying sarcastic comment, and making fun of the band.

"I'm sure you'll do great," he says as we start walking to class. I tell him thanks and he kisses my cheek before we depart.

The next day:

I'm standing in front of the whole music program, which is a good 20 people.

"Take your time," the teacher says.

I take a deep breath and start to sing.

Standing in the shadows
I thought that I earned it
Feeling invisible
Believing I deserved it

I can't remember what I was waiting for
So no more

I'm climbing over walls that I've made
I'm finding my place on the stage
I'm gonna be leaving all those doubts behind

I'm step, I'm stepping into the light

I'm gonna be spreading my wings
Following a path they can't see
Chasing an adventure, that's all mine
I'm step, I'm stepping into the light

I'm shedding the skin that I'm in
Never hiding who I am ever again
That girl yo
u knew, she's, ready to ignite
I'm step, I'm stepping into the light

I hear clapping from behind me and turn to see Sunset Curve themselves.

Then, the teacher says, "You're in."
