I mentally scolded myself at how I had acted this morning.

Ugh. I was such a nervous wreck.

But I was extremely excited.

I had invited friends over to my house before, but this time, it felt different. Really, really different.

Every time I was around Simon, I felt so euphoric. I don't know how, or why, but he had an effect on me. It wouldn't stop. It went from thinking he had a cute smile to my chest tightening every time I did as little as thinking about him. It was an addicting feeling.

We sat in math class. I wasn't in my usual seat. My usual seat was away from him. But, today I was sitting right next to him.

I would occasionally look at him and just gaze. I admired his long, black hair. It looked smooth. I wanted to run my hands through it. My finger moved at the thought, but I restrained myself. I was hardly even paying attention to what the teacher was saying. I got so lost at looking at Simon. He was perfect. Before I could look away, Simon turned his head in my direction and we made direct eye contact. I think he could tell I had been staring at him. I quickly turned my head back to my notebook, smiling to myself. I tried to make it look like I wasn't embarrassed.

"And what is the answer to this equation, Jasper?" Mr. Carter asked, turning around and looking straight at me.

I looked at the equation on the board. It had a lot of variables and coefficients. But, I couldn't solve it. After all, I wasn't listening because I was too busy.. well, yeah, you get the point.

"Jasper."

"Uh- um. It's-"

Simon quietly chuckled.

He nudged my arm below the desk. "x = 10" He whispered to me, looking down at his notebook.

I finally spoke up.

"x = 10. It's x = 10." I said quickly.

"Very good." he said, writing the solution in the board.

"Thanks." I whispered.

He snorted. "No problem." He whispered back.

Felix, Chance, Carrie and Quinn giggled. Quinn and Chance's shoulders were touching as they sat next to each other. They would occasionally whisper things to each other and laugh, or gaze at each other in class. Yep, they definitely had feelings for each other.

Carrie and Felix were also sitting next to each other. Felix had been happier lately since he started talking to Carrie.
