In search for
(My childhood)

I travel to yesterday
To search for my childhood,
What I lost along the way
And wrote in my book.

But our house is gone,
Demolished by rage
With only a tree
Smiling in the autumn sun

I remember,
Rufus, my dog, my friend,
Our fun never ran out at the river
Fishing for flapping fish was his specialty
He would try to catch them
And if he did, he would run away

On those hot summer days
In the fields
He would steal my sandwiches
While the kites kept flying higher and higher

In the setting sun
The tree looks awfully depressed
Where life once was
Are now only shadows

I know I must leave my heart
In the footprints of my youth
And the tree of memories
In the barren grounds I called my home

I travelled to yesterday
And finally found my childhood,
What I lost along the way
And wrote in my book.
