Memories
I scrolled through my phone
And found something memorable;
Oh! How I wanted it to be a photo
Nothing, but that alone
But...
You didn't like your picture taken,
How I still remember your face
Is from memory...
And the few photos we did share.
I stare at the number
And wished, wished that
I could call you, just to say
"I love you" and "How are you?"
But I can't.
I want to send you a WhatsApp,
A message will also do!
But I can't.
I miss your voice
I miss your jokes
I miss the times we shared,
Laughing at simple things.
I want to experience that again.
Relive it day by day...
But I can't.
All of these things and more
I can't do, because you're not here.
You exchanged the temporary
For eternity.
Although you're not here,
I still feel your presence
I feel how you look at me from above
I feel your warm smile
Like the summer sun shining on me
Dammit, I miss YOU most of all!
Your love touched me
From the moment I opened my eyes
And will stay with me
Till I close them for the last time.
You were my best friend,
The only true friend I ever needed.
