COVID-19

Slowly we were forced back
Back into our caves
By our home, our own MOTHER!

Where is Louis Pasteur?
Alexander Fleming and
Edward Jenner?

The people who made miracles
From nothing but a few pieces
Of knowledge and equipment.
Where are all these people?

The best era of technology
And we still are no better
Than a few centuries ago.

Corona is our worst enemy
One of which we don't have armor
And no guns can defeat.
She seeks for you in broad daylight,
Waiting for aninvite
Before she strikes.

Where is Jonas Salk,
James Watson, Francis Crick,
Luc Montagnier?

We had people figuring out DNA and
Cured polio and discovered HIV.
We have historians like Marie Curie
The X-ray mistress.
Where are these people now?

Oh, God!
Your people walk around
With no nose or mouth.
Their fingers coated in blue, white and black
Some constantly have wet hands.

They look alien like,
Breath the same air as us
But who are they?

They drop dead like flies
Thousands upon thousands
On both our sides.

Where is the cure?
Is it in front of us or maybe
Maybe it's in us?

Animals roam free,
Returning to barren streets
Of days long forgotten
While we sit in our cages
Of brick and wood.

Were socially distant,
But still find a way to say,
"Have a good day."

Hospitals overflow with rivers of people
We send countries, towns
And a whole states under lockdown
Because Corona is out of hand.

How and where did she get Death's scepter?

Oh, God!
Where is our Louis, Alexander,
Edward, Jonas, James, Francis,
Luc, Marie
Of the 21st century?

Where are our angels of Medicine and Physics?
