Where were you
Where were you
When the world stopped turning,
When nature took over?
For who was this a beautiful sight?I can hear hyenas
Laughing in the distance
Some say, "Look who's in a zoo now?"Where were you
When all you could see was the blue sky
Through a tinted window? The softness of the grass
Makes me long for a day,
When I just want to make grass angels
And play 'guess the form of the clouds'
But the only grass I can touch
Is plastic. Mimics.
The only clouds I see are up on the wall.Where were you
When the masks began?
When tech became boring?I scroll through Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok
But everything is the same.Nothing.
Never have I ever been so
Sick and tired of the tellie, of Netflix.
Who am I? Am I really converting
Back to the basics of the 1900s?
Am I really aiming for books?Where were you
When the dust settled
When we felt the sun's warmth
When the masks fell?A wonderful day will come,
But for now, where are you in all of this?
