Family Bonding Time

I often wonder what goes on in my mum's head. Why she thought it might possibly be a good idea to invite Dad over, when all they've done is argue for the past three months solid. I love them both, and I desperately want them to be together again, but this seems a bit sudden. She should have waited a bit... Thought about it... Asked me and Hugh!

And Scorpius... Oh shit Scorpius!

"If looks could kill," a voice said behind me. Speak of the devil.

"Mum's invited Dad for dinner."

"Why? They keep arguing..."

"I know. This morning she said something about being jealous of us being in love... and on top of that being weird enough, I think it triggered her to start trying to get him back."

"Your parents are completely irrational," Scorpius said.

"Didn't take you long to figure that out," I commented.

"Wouldn't take anyone long. Anyway, what are we going to do?"

DING DONG

"That's my dad," I said grimly. "Do you have any smart clothes."

"Smartest I've got is this," he said, gesturing to his jeans.

I sighed. "My mum is so crap at life."

"That's a bit harsh. She just loves all of you. A lot."

"Yes but she's being sort of inconsiderate."

"She hasn't realised that Rose."

"Fine. I guess we just have to face it. Come down with me then."

"Alright. Whatever happens in the next couple of hours, I love you."

"I love you too Scorp. Shall we go?"

"Rose, can you tell your brother that your dad's here?!" Mum yelled.

"HUGH, DAD'S HERE AND DINNER'S READY!"

"Your ability to shout never ceases to amaze me."

I smiled proudly. "My best asset."

He smirked. "I'd say your freckles..."

"Shut up!"

My dad came to the bottom of the stairs.

"Rosie?"

"Dad," I cried happily, running down into his arms. "I missed you!"

"I missed you more Rosie!"

I hugged him tightly. "Dad?"

"Yes Rosie?"

"Can you stay? Just for tonight? I don't want you to go again."

"Just for tonight, I might stay," he replied.

"Thank you."

We broke apart. "Dad, this is Scorp," I said, as Scorpius came down the stairs.

"Hello Scorpius," he said, civilly.

"Hello Mr Weasley."

"Please call me Ron."

I smiled to myself. Maybe this would all be fine.

Hugo appeared behind Scorp.

"Hey dad," he smiled. Jeez I don't think I've seen him smile in ages!
