Note: In this One-shot (if it gets a lot of reads, I will make it into an AU), people with feathered wings decide on a molting day each month, so that their wings don't get weighed down. The percentages of wing types are these:

Feathered (i.e.: Angel): 25% Unfeathered (devil or dragon for example): 25% No wings: 50%

One-color Feather: 50% Two colors: 25% Three: 15% Rainbow: 10%

More info on the wing types will be given later on as notes!

Enjoy!

"Petra! PETRA!"

Petra groaned, looking down at the floor, which was covered in bonfire-red feathers with specks of gray.

Her mother walked in, and froze, blinking at her daughter with her wings out, feathers ruffling or fluttering to the ground in the breeze from the AC, surrounded by feathers.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. I forgot that today was your molting day."

Petra sighed as her adopted brother, Lukas came in, looking as if he had seen a cat the size of a plane coming at him.

His wings folded behind his back as a pale sky blue feather, speckled with white, fell to the ground as he said, in a soft voice, "You choose today, too?"

"Yep." Petra said, standing up quickly, more feathers raining from her wings due to the wind. "We better hurry to school."

"I'll call the principal and tell him that you two are molting." Murmured the mom, pulling out her phone, and dialing, her wings unfurling as she jumped over the second floor railing.

Maya came out of her room, her dragon wings twitching at the morning sun touching them.

"Molting day?" She said, not missing a beat as she brushed her shoulder blade length hair with her fingers.

Lukas nodded. Petra sighed, staring at her two adopted siblings in defeat as Maya looked sadly at Lukas, who refuses to talk  a lot, he prefers to write his responses.

"Lukas, you know you can talk to us. There's no need to be so quiet..." Maya said, pulling her hair into a ponytail. With a disdainful look at her wings, she said, "I wish I could molt. But I love my wings..."

With a soft laugh, Lukas said, "At least you don't have to worry about your wings catching fire, Maya."

"Kids! You have twenty minutes before you miss the bus!" Came the mothers voice from downstairs, pushing the kids to move quickly.

Two minutes later

Racing down the sidewalk, with their bags swinging, the trio of siblings reached the bus stop within ten minutes, the bus just pulling up.

They quickly lined up with the small group that was gathered, behind three kids that they didn't recognize; each were wearing an hoodie of different colors, one with dark, midnight purple hair, the other two with either black or brown hair.

Stella Andrews stepped up into the bus, her glasses pushed on top of her wind-blown head, her makeup looking as if she hadn't flown to the bus stop from more than three houses down the street in the summer heat.

Next was the well-known lesbian couple, Luna and Ruby, Ruby carefully wrapping her demonic succubus wings around her small girlfriend.

"Luna, dear. Please make sure that you and Ruby run by the store on your way home." Said the bus driver, who was Luna's transgender parent. (He was a she before, but changed genders after Luna's birth)
