Picard found it odd that as he went through his own past, present and future no one not even Data has heard of Dezirae it was one of his main clues that what was going on was really happening and he figures out why no one has heard of Dezirae when he meets Q the reason he realizes this is because he knows just how much Dezirae dislikes the.... man so she must have sensed Q and decided to take another "trip" while Picard was being forced into his past, present and future in the blink of a eye or faster though he wished she was there he completely understands her reasons for not being there though he did wonder why the Data of the present didn't know of her he didn't believe she would make him forget about her perhaps in this past, present and future she never arrived on the Enterprise at all and that made him sad he was however happy to see her when he returned to his complete present for good "hopefully you'll be with Data for a very long time!"  he says after he tells her about his adventures and how lonely it seemed without her "what are you going to do Captain order the Lieutenant Commander to marry me!?!"  she teases "now there's an idea!"  he replies she chuckles then walks away with a wave and he heads to Riker's room where Riker, Data and a few others were playing poker and the first thing he does is test to see if everyone knew that Dezirae existed by asking all those in the room if they knew where she was "I believe she is sleeping in our quarters Captian though she does not play I could call her and see if she's willing to join us"  Data replies "no, that's alright Data, thank you"  Picard replies with a smile and though he seemed confused Data nods.... a few months later everyone celebrates Worf's promotion from Lieutenant to Lieutenant Commander in a very unique way for they're all on a 19th Century ship sailing the ocean blue in the Holodeck his rite of passage is basically walking the plank and retrieve his hat which was hanging on a rope at the very end of it but before he does that he has to play the part of the ships prisoner which is brought up from below once Riker calls out "bring out the prisoner"  hologrammed drummers roll their drums as the Forward Hatch is opened and a cuffed Worf walks up to the deck and Geordi and Deanna stand on either side of him then take ahold of his arms as the drummers stop drumming "Mr. Worf, I always knew this day would come are you prepared to face the charges?"  Picard asks "answer him"  Deanna says "I am prepared"  Worf tells Picard Riker rolls open a piece of parchment and reads from it "we, the officers and crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, being of sound mind and judgement, hereby make the following charges against Lieutenant Worf one, that he did knowingly.... and willfully.... preform above and beyond the call of duty on countless occasions two, most seriously, that he has earned the admiration and respect of the entire crew"  Picard says "Mr. Worf, I hereby promote you to the rank of Lieutenant Commander, with all the rights and privileges thereto"  Worf looks at Geordi then raises his cuffed wrists and Geordi unlocks the cuffs as Picard says "and may God have mercy on your soul"  Geordi cheers with a thrill of his tongue and the rest of the crew both hologram and real join him "hip, hip...."  Geordi says  "hooray!"  everyone shouts they repeat that one more time as Picard walks over and shakes Worf's hand as he says "congratulations, Mr. Worf"  Worf replies "thank you, sir"  Riker orders "extend the plank" the sound of laughter is heard as the hologrammed sailors do as their told "lower the badge of office"  Riker orders a hat is brought down on a rope and Worf walks over and onto the plank then carefully jumps and grabs the hat then puts it on his head after he regains his balance and the crew cheers for him and as a joke Riker orders the computer to remove the plank making Worf fall into the water Dezirae notices the confused expression on Data's face and says "it's just a bit of fun Data remember what I told you about jokes!?"  he looks at her and says "I remember everything"  she smiles then takes his hand and walks towards the Bow of the ship "why are we here!?!"  he asks she wraps her arms around his waist and leans up against his side he smiles then wraps his arms around her waist it took him a few seconds to realize that they were alone there since everyone else was still watching Worf climb back onto the ship and that it was quite peaceful and he began to realize why she brought him there and his smile grows.... when everyone was sent to their actual stations Dezirae walks into Picard's Read Room and makes some tea when Picard enters his distress becomes relief when he sees his friend place his tea cup on his desk "I won't ask questions but you need to relax remember what a Captain feels a crew suffers from"  she says he chuckles then he becomes somber when he realizes he just barked at his First Officer "he'll forgive you"  she tells him he smiles then sits in his chair and takes a sip of his tea which he realizes wasn't simulated and he raises a eyebrow at Dezirae who shrugs and he chuckles they sit in silence which he is grateful for and he actually starts to relax a little until Data calls and asks if Dezirae could meet him in their quarters Dezirae looks at Picard who nods then she stands up and walks out of the Ready Room over to the Turbo Lift which opens once she reaches it she lets the computer know where she wants to go then it starts up once it stops she walks out of it and over to the quarters she still shares with Data and see a worried looking Geordi who looks at Data who is holding a very familiar looking chip inbetween his thumb and pointer finger she walks over to Data and gently takes the Emotion Chip out of his hand Data sits down in his desk chair and she gently opens up his hairline so he now looks like a dark haired Picard with a bit more hair on the side of his head and place the chip in his positronic brain as she does that Geordi tells Data "listen, at the first sign of trouble, either me or Dez will deactivate it agreed?"  Data replies "agreed"  he looks in Dezirae's eyes she looks at him then kisses his lips which makes him smile it was then he realized that she had already put the chip into his brain for he gained a emotional response to her kiss one he was very happy to gain for he truly does love her kisses and all he wanted to do was continue but she straightened her body so that he couldn't and he was disappointed that she did so then he sees Geordi and realizes why she did so and grins "well the best way to test this "baby" out is Ten Forward"  she says to Geordi who replies with a smile "I believe we already know it's working"  she says "yes but that was just one thing and I'm pretty sure you don't want to witness the result in it's completion besides it is only one emotion and after what Lore and the Borg did I'd rather make sure it gives him the "sensation" of all the others as well"  he nods "I'll uh.... stay here with Spot"  she says Data looks disappointed at those words "remember Data I have "made" you feel emotions without actually "feeling" being able to feel emotions so the true way to test the "strength" of the emotion chip is to not have me around for the time being besides it isn't like I'm leaving the ship completely"  she tells the Android she loves who nods then smiles and kisses her lips as he stands up out of his chair "maybe next time"  she says softly once he lets her lips go he nods with a smile then he and Geordi leave it took Data a few seconds to realize that the sensation of him gaining "true" emotions may have been too much for her and that made him sad what he didn't realize was is that she is worried about Picard and feeling a darkness upon the ship that she knows she doesn't like but can't pinpoint but unlike most darkness' that she has felt this one was caused by sadness and loss which was indeed too much for her at this point in time and she decided she would tell Data about it when he returned so he doesn't think what he is already thinking....
