"But maybe you never really had someone.

Maybe, no matter how much you loved them, they could slip through your fingers like water,

and there was nothing you could do about it."

It's been six weeks now since we started the project, which also means that it's been a whole month and a half since Niall and I started going out- well, if you call hanging out in each other's apartments watching Netflix or playing video games called "going out".

In case anyone's wondering, things between us are starting to go downhill at the moment. Why is that, you ask? Well...beats me. Ever since I freaked out last week while we were kissing, and things had been weird between us to say the least. We still hang out and try to act as a normal couple, but we both know that it will only take one small simple slip up to ruin everything between us for good.

I was aimlessly going through the TV's channels, while Niall was taking a shower.

I can't even remember the last time I genuinely enjoyed watching something on TV. I don't like the idea of something taking control over what I'm going to watch, why not just watch online? Lately, I don't have the time to look up anything online, or even know what movies are premiering at the moment.

I felt like a somewhat young boomer.

"Jaade?" It was when Niall called my name from the bathroom, I realized I turned off the TV.

"Yeah?" I yelled, too comfortable in my position on the couch to walk to the bathroom.

"Will you bring me a towel, please?" He yelled back over the still running shower.

"Ugh, do I have to?"

"Well, if you don't mind me walking around naked..." My eyes widened.

"Just a sec!" Finding myself already convinced to get up. "Where are the towels exactly?" I asked, looking around me for any drawer that could possibly contain towels.

"In the bedroom, on your left of my drawer." I rushed to the bedroom, and looked exactly where he told me to look, but I found nothing.

"I can't find anything!"

"Are you sure? I remember putting them somewhere in there."

"I'm pretty sure, Niall." All the yelling back and forth exhausted me, so I ended up falling dramatically on his bed, following with a thud. I felt the bed against my back uneven, as if there's something underneath the bed sheets. I rose up and lifted them up to realize that he had buried his towel under his sheets this whole time.

I was about to yell again to announce that I finally found the towel, when I felt something buzzes on the nightstand. It was Niall's phone, showing that he just received a message. Without realizing what I was doing, I glanced at the screen before it automatically goes off again.

My heart nearly stopped when I read the sender's ID.

Marlene:

Yay! I'm glad I could convince you!

Blood were starting to boil as another message popped up.

Marlene:

Can't wait to see you next week xox

What the actual fuck?

What is Marlene doing in Niall's DM and what is going on next week and why the fuck didn't I know about this?
