--Sophie's POV--

          Keefe's words felt like the world had just been rested on my shoulders. I couldn't stand any longer. I collapsed on the ground and Keefe was kneeling next to me within seconds. I knew he was talking but I couldn't hear anything he was saying. Everything started spinning and my vision was going black around the edges. I knew I needed to calm down but I couldn't seem to focus on anything but the fact that my parents were gone. It was déjà vu. My human parents were taken and now my adopted parents have been taken.

          "Foster! Foster, you need to calm down," Keefe's voice said from a distance.

          But his voice didn't calm me down what so ever. Keefe, being an Empath, could tell.

--Keefe's POV--

          Right after I told Sophie about her parents I wished I could put the words back in my mouth. She collapsed and I could feel the panic radiating off of her.

          "Foster! Hey, it's okay, I'm right here."

          She was completely out of it. She wasn't even crying which was not normal. It was starting to freak me out.

          "Foster! Foster, you need to calm down," I said while shaking her.

          But it still didn't work. I couldn't think of any- Oh, wait a minute... Okay, that was weird, I could hear the smirk in my thought. Okay, that's not the point. I tipped Sophie's chin up to face me and I planted a kiss on her lips.

          Almost immediately, Sophie kissed back. I pulled away and looked at her.

          "Are you okay? Wait, don't answer that, I already know the answer," I said and saw a small smile appear on her face.

          "I-" But she couldn't finish her sentence before she broke down.

          "Hey, babe it's okay. We're going to find them."

          She wiped her tears and looked at me.

          "Did you just call me babe?" She asked giving me a sad smile.

          "Yeah," I said blushing and looking away. "Is that okay?"

          "Yeah, it's fine, and thank you for being here for me."

          "I'm your boyfriend that's what I'm here for. Now, we need to get ahold of Forkle and the rest of the gang. We'll need their help to find Grady and Edaline."

~~~~~
--Sophie's POV--
          "Wait, so what you're telling me is that we have new members to worry about??" Mr. Forkle asks. "And one of them happens to have an unheard-of ability?"
          "Yup," Keefe says as he wraps an arm around my waist.
          "How are you so freaking calm Keefe?" Biana practically screams. "Grady and Edaline have been taken and you're acting as if nothing has happened!"
          "Wait, my aunt and uncle have been taken and no thought it was a good idea to tell me!" Dex asks almost falling out of his chair in shock.
          Dex hadn't been here when Keefe and I explained everything so this is the first he's heard of Grady and Edaline.
          "Okay, can we stop yelling and figure out how to rescue them!?" I say rubbing my temples. "Also, can you guys try to control your emotions. It is very overwhelming and I feel like passing out from it."
          At that Keefe's grip tightens around my waist.
          "Miss Foster is right, we need to be planning. We also must inform the Council that the Neverseen are turning out to be escape artists and that they have new recruits."
          Within four hours Everglen was packed with people. All the Councilors, all of the Collective, and every member of the Black Swan who were comfortable showing up. The room we were in was getting really cramped and the plan they were coming up with was not going to work and I knew it.
          I excused myself and walked outside. I found a rock to sit on and I put my hands in my pockets. I felt a piece of paper sitting in my right pocket and I immediately started to think back and figure out when it could have been placed there. But I came up with no answer. I pulled out the little note and saw the distinct sign of the Neverseen. I opened up the folded note and it read.
We have your parents and we don't deny it.
But the only way to save them is to give us what we want.
Our plans have shifted so it's not who you think.
Right after you finish reading this you must come to us.
If you don't your parents will feel our wrath.
You know the right path.
I guess I'm going to go to the Neverseen.
