Remy's POV

I was just hanging out home alone, my boyfriend hadn't returned yet from his walk. Nothing was really going on, until I got a call from him.

"Hey babes, what's up?"

I just heard some heavy breathing and then "R-Remy-" before a choked sob.

"Janus? Babe what's going on?" I start to worry. "Remy, Remy I- I almost did something- something stupid a-and I need you to come get me." I stood up off of the couch, quickly grabbing my leather jacket and keys. "Where are you, J?"

"Th-The old park bridge where we had our- our first date. Please, get here quick I-I'm afraid I'll do it." "Okay, I want you  to sit down, I'm on my way I'll be there in two minutes. Stay on the phone, okay babes?" I can hear him sitting down.

We stay on the phone, him crying quietly while I give him updates on where I am. The drive is excruciating, trying to tell myself he wasn't going to jump but I know him. I'm just glad he called before he did.

Once I'm sure he can and has seen me, I hang up and get out of the car. "Janus!" I yell in his direction as I begin to run his way.

He's no longer sitting, just standing with his hands on the railing staring off. He turns when he hears me, and just stands there. When I get pretty close, he puts his arms out and I surroud him in my embrace.

Janus lets me pick him up, and I do, whispering "It's okay," in his ear as I carry him back to the car.

He curls up in the passenger and the ride is silent. I look at him when we reach a light, and he's just staring off, eyes wide probably in horror and confusion. It's very quiet on the roads for being eleven pm.

We're almost home, just about to get through this light an-

...Crash.

Third Person POV

They were just about past the last light when another car slammed into the passenger side, thankfully behind Janus, but either man could have died when their car began rolling.

Life for Remy moved in slow motion as he whipped his head around to face Janus, thankful that he had buckled his seatbelt but terrified as the impact had come from the side his boyfriend was on. He couldn't hear much, it sounded like a ringing in his ears matched with buzzing. His head was surrounded by 'Get out of the car, get Janus, you're gonna die,' etc. Remy felt as if he would explode then and there from the heat that embraced the car.

Janus, however, had a different experience. You know how they say your life flashes before your eyes just before you're dying? Janus saw that...but it was different. All of these old, repressed memories of his childhood began to cloud his mind. He felt as if he couldn't move, still frozen in shock from what was happening in his head and what he had tried to do that night. He saw a bed, a bunk bed specifically as if someone had just stacked two beds on top of eachother, and someone -a woman- pushing a man into the bunk, the top bed falling onto Janus. He saw a gun, pointed at himself, and then in a second he felt surrounded by water.

A bystander had called 911, and the two boyfriends along with two other men and a child were reported to be in the cars.

Remy's POV

My eyes fluttered open and it seemed we were upside down. I heard glass break next to me, and someone cutting my seatbelt before gently pulling me out of the car window. There was a flashlight in my eyes, and I could hear someone talking to me. "Sir, I'm going to need your full name, okay?"

"Remi-Remington S-Sc-Scott." My throat felt burned. "Alright Mr. Scott, just hold tight okay? We're bringing you to the emergency room." "Jan-Janus, Janus, where-?" The lady above me shushes me politely. "If Janus was the other male in your car, he's coming to the emergency room as well. As of right now, the odds are in both of your favors. Try not to talk, your throat has been slightly burned."

I fall back asleep in what I assume is an ambulance, and wake up in a bright white room. A hospital. A nurse and doctor are by my side, talking. The nurse looks down towards me. "Ah! You're awake." I try to speak, but I can only cough.

"Don't speak, I'm just going to ask some yes or no questions, okay?" I nod.

"Is your full name Remington Cosme Scott?" Nod. "Was the other person in your car Janus Tye Stone?" Nod. "Do you want to know any information about the accident?" Nod.

"Alright. Both you and Janus survived, his left arm is bruised and broken. The left side of his face is very scratched and there is a most likely permanent scar running from the tip of his mouth to his ear on the left side. Your neck was a bit burned, so we do advise that you talk as little as possible during recovery. You have a small fracture in your wrist, but will otherwise heal within a week. In the other car, there were two adult.men and a child. We cannot disclose any of their information without their consent, except that the driver was intoxicated."

A child? Hope they're okay. "See..See J-an?" I ask, very quietly. The nurse points the other way with her pen and I turn my head slowly, seeing him looking back at me. He looks miserable, his entire left side of his face is pretty scraped and bruised, though it doesn't seem to be bleeding. It kinda looks like scales. He seems exhausted, my heart aches for him. I lift my arm to wave as a singular tear rolls down my face. He waves back with his right arm.

"Remy." I hear him whisper.

"J-Janus."
