I thought I'd be excited to get back to the leaf, but it was the opposite. It's not that I didn't miss my friends. It's just that I was so unbelievably nervous, it completely overwhelmed all my other feelings. What if they think I'm a traitor? What if they don't want me back? what if they don't even care that I'm back? I was so scared to see anyone I knew. Not only that but there was this whole other side of things. What if my plan doesn't work? What if Orochimaru reveals that I talked to him? What if I have to fight him? it was too many uncertainties for my poor brain to handle.

Walking through the gates, still transformed and with my chakra suppressed, Izumo and Kotetsu didn't look at me twice. The village was bustling with people here for the exams. the air had an excited feel to it. I wanted to walk around and enjoy the festivities, but I knew better. I have to get to Kakashi. I jumped up onto a building away from the crowds in the streets and sat down crisscross. I tried looking for his chakra signal, which was way harder because of the amount of people in the village, but after a minute or two, I found it. it was off in some abandoned area in the middle of nowhere. Oh yeah, he must still be training Sasuke. Unsupressing my chakra, I prepared myself to start my plan. Hidden technique: mind invasion jutsu! My chakra tubes travelled all the way to Kakashi attaching to him. let's do this...

Kakashi's POV:

I stiffened at the feel of foreign chakra in my system. Sasuke noticed my sudden change and looked at me weirdly. I was too frozen to do anything. This chakra...no way. Where is it coming from? I looked around trying to find the source. Nothing...she wasn't here. I'm sure it's her, it has to be. "Sasuke, check my chakra network." He raised his eyebrow before shrugging and turning on his Sharingan. His eyes widened slightly. "this chakra...it's just like that day. how? I thought she disappeared?" I sighed and rubbed my temples. "I don't know either." His eyes widened further as he kept looking at me. "what's wro..." I was about to ask when a voice interrupted me. "hello kakashi..." my eyes widened. "Elle...where are you?" I could hear her little giggle in my head. "don't worry about that for now." I shook my head and got up, darting from tree to tree. "kakashi...would you stop moving? I'm going to" and just like that the voice stopped. I looked around frantically. "Elle, where did you go? Elle!" I called out through the forest. Nothing, no reply.

I looked back at Sasuke who was following me. "She's here, isn't she?" he asked with a knowing look. I nodded slightly. "At least she was. I can't hear her anymore." Sasuke turned his Sharingan back on. "her chakra is not there anymore. Maybe she.. wait! It's coming back!" my eyes widened as I felt her presence again. "DIDN'T I TELL YOU TO STOP MOVING BAKASHI!" I sighed a sigh of relief at hearing her again. "listen we don't have all day. I need you to meet me in front of the Hokage's office. I'm transformed so I'll find you. I'll meet you there in 5 minutes." Before I could ask any questions, I felt her disappear again. "What was that about?" I shrugged "I'm about to find out" and started running towards the Hokage's office.

Elle's POV:

I suppressed my chakra again and started walking to the big red building. It wasn't far so it would definitely take me less than 5 minutes. Hearing Kakashi not mad at me really eased my nerves. At least that means I'm not a rogue. I reached the building only to see him standing there, stiff as a board. Kakashi... I smiled at him just now realizing how much I actually missed him. I ran over to him and hugged him. "I missed you so much, you have no idea!" he hugged my back slowly easing out of his stiff state. I looked up at him happily. He was looking at me, but seemed to be completely in his own head. "oh Kakashi, relax! I'll explain everything to you later. I promise." He nodded at me slowly before I dragged him into the Hokage building. "where are we going?" I looked back at him with an 'are you dumb' face. "to see the hokage... why else would we be here?" he smiled slightly. "oh don't get all smiley. You're going to hate this. I just need you to promise me to support my request." He stopped in his tracks stopping me with him. "what request?" I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly. "you're going to see when we're upstairs. I already threatened the hokage so he doesn't trust me, but you know who he does trust? That's right. YOU!" He sweat dropped at my response. "you're more cheerful than I remember." I laughed and started pulling him again.

We made our way to the hokage office and knocked. "come in." I walked in with Kakashi following behind me, apprehensive of the whole thing. "Hello there Kakashi. Who did you bring?" I laughed slightly remembering my first time walking into the Hokage's office with Kakashi. "aww, I'm sad. I thought you'd recognize me." he looked at me weirdly and then back at Kakashi, who was looking done with me already. "you guys are no fun." I said as I released the transformation. His eyes widened slightly before going back to normal. "it has been a while Elle. Care to explain where you went during the last month?" I could see it in his eyes. he clearly didn't trust me. "don't look so serious. I was just training, that is until your village needed me again." he gave me a questioning look. "you've had another vision?" I scoffed. "oh it was a vision alright. It had me drained for a week after it." wow, no matter how hard I try to lighten the mood, he's just not gonna give in, is he? I rolled my eyes. "fine if you want to be serious, we'll be serious." He nodded at me, telling me to go on. "I can't go too much into detail, but here is what I can tell you. before I do tell you though, are you sure you want to hear this? It's not...pleasant." He nodded at me again. I sighed and started. "I'll say this as simply as possible. The village got attacked. You died. The village was defenseless. Then it was infiltrated by a criminal group because of the low security." He looked at me, wide eyed, horrified. I shrugged. "I told you it wasn't pleasant." He quickly regained his composure and got serious again. "if you're telling me this, you must have something in mind. what's your plan?" I smirked slightly. "You know me too well. There's one little change that if you make, I can save the village and your life." Please agree, please agree. "and what is that?" I sighed and got the most serious look on my face. "I need you to step down from your position as hokage." His eyes widened. This could make it or break it. "you haven't seen it." I looked down with hurt eyes. "the destruction, the bodies everywhere. The leaf didn't stand a chance." I looked up at him dramatically. oh he is sooo falling for my acting. I mean, all I'm doing is saving his life. "I can't just stand by and watch." He had a thoughtful look on his face. "how will it help?" yes! He's going to agree. I knew it! "It will not only save your life, but it will allow me to stop the invasion before it even happens." he still looked hesitant. "let me tell you how the plan will actually go, that might help you understand a bit." he nodded quickly, eager for any information that might help him make up his mind. "Before the exam starts, you will announce that this is the last event for you as hokage and that you are stepping down. Then, you'll introduce me as the next hokage." He was about to interrupt me when I raised my hands in the air. "before you lose your shit, let me finish!" he sighed and shut his mouth again. "I need you to do that, cause I need to catch the attention of someone. If I don't, this whole plan will go to ruins." I waited for him to nod, which he did begrudgingly, before I kept going. We will exit the arena together after my little show of power. That is when I'll transform into you and head into the stands while you go into temporary hiding. from there on out, it's all going to be me." he looked at me slightly before Kakashi stepped in. I almost forgot he was here. "Hokage-sama, it might seem ridiculous, but she has proven herself over and over again. I fully believe that her plan will work. Knowing her, she will never even tell us, if she wasn't 100% sure." I smiled at him slightly. We both were looking at the hokage, eagerly awaiting his answer. "fine, I will trust Kakashi's judgment for now, but if you show any intent to harm the village in any way, I won't hesitate in killing you." subtle, isn't he? I smiled victoriously and bowed slightly before running out happily. Great! First step: done and done! Now I just have to pray tomorrow will go as planned.
