Chapter 13

The next day, Archer took me to an art museum downtown.

We walked around through all the exhibits, admiring the art.

"I know this might not be your cup of tea, so how about we do something you like after this," he said.

"Oh no, I love art," I said.

"Really? Well, we can still do something more exciting later," he said.

"How about roller skating?" I asked.

"Sure," he said, "let's go."

We went to the roller rink and rented some skates.

He held onto the railing very closely the whole time.

I chuckled and then grabbed his hand, "don't worry, I won't let you fall."

He forcefully let go, "I'm fine."

"Come on," I said and took his hand again.

"Would you stop?" he yelled.

Everyone turned around to look. It was so embarrassing.

"See what you've done?" he said, "let's go."

"But we just got here," I said.

"I said, let's go."

I took off my skates left the building. I called and Uber to take me home before he could walk out of the building to follow me.

Over the next week, he tried calling and texting but I just ignored him.

On Friday, I decided to take a walk in the park by my house.

"I thought I'd find you here."

I turned around and saw Archer.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"You haven't been returning my texts or calls so I had to search for you," he said, "I wanted to apologize. Let's go sit at that table."

I sat down with him and he took out a bottle of wine.

"Will you forgive me?" he asked.

"I guess," I said.

"Great, let's come home now," he said.

I followed him to his car and we went to his house.

"How can I make it up to you?" he asked.

"Well, the carnival's in town," I said.

"You want to go to the carnival?"

"Yes."

"Fine, let's go."

We drove down there and he bought me some tickets. I made him buy me some cotton candy and a slushy and we went on a ton of rides.

"After this, we're doing something that I like," he said.

"What might that be?" I asked.

"You'll see," he said.
