Chapter Twenty-five

Months of college is full of adjustments. You should always be one step ahead.

"How's school Samantha?" Mom asked.

After the months of the whole family being busy, ngayon nalang ulit kami nagkaroon ng matinong dinner na walang biglang tatawag habang kumakain kami.

"It's fine ma. Nahihirapan lang mag-adjust pero kinakaya naman." I sipped on my water.

"Your subjects? Medyo mahirap ang subjects sa first year."

"Mahirap, to say the least. The lessons are all  mystery to me, ang hirap po intindihin." I blurted out.

Mom just laugh at my rants. "Ganon talaga iha. I can tutor you kapag nahihirapan kana talaga, but you should learn by yourself parin," she paused,

"What about org groups? May sinalihan ka ba?" Mom, trying to open a new topic.

Pareho kaming napatingin ni mommy kay daddy when he let out a rebuke scowl. Tumawa kami ni mommy. He's just being bitter dahil polsci ang kurso ko. He wants  me to take medicine like him, but I don't have a heart to. I don't see myself memorizing the anatomy; I picture myself elaborating laws on a corporate attire.

"Are we seriously talking about it right now?" Mom and I are trying to suppress our laughs.

"Honey don't be bitter. Samantha choose her course herself." Mom tried to explain.

Dad rolled his eyes.

I put the last piece of meat inside my mouth. "I'm fine with my course right now dad." he grunted.

"Seriously iha, you're welcome in medicine field..." ginamit niya pa ang kamay niya at inumuwestra sa ere para makagawa ng rainbow.

"Cardiology ba o neurology? Ano ba gusto mo?" He said once again not giving up.

Tumawa lang kami ni mommy. We finished our dinner like that.

The next day is a normal school day. Dior drop me off to school at agad din siyang umalis dahil my presentation pa siya.

Sinalubong ako ni Ava sa gate with her high pitched voice. "Sam! Hindi ka late ngayon ah." Tukso niya.

"I'm trying to change my body clock." we went to our room and had a discussion.

Our day went on like that. Discussion and a couple of quizes.

"You have your groups right?" sumagot kami.

"Okay, so you need to dig dipper about the former presidents of the Philippines." Mr. Guzman.

Our room is filled with grunts.
