Chapter 48: Breathe

I shook my head, "I can't—it hurts so bad. I can't deal with it."

"You can." He calmly said

His voice was so soothing in a moment like this.

Another sharp pain shot through again. I couldn't hold back the tears.

"Taylor, Taylor—look at me." He said

"How is that going to help?"

"Just look at me." He said

"You got this, don't think about it. Do you think music will help you?" He asked

I ignored his question because it won't. Nothing will help—besides this pain stopping.

"Hm?" He asked, rubbing my hair.

"What's your favorite song? What's a song that makes you forget about everything?" He asked as he pulled out his phone.

"Um, Spotless Mind." I mustered to say

"Who is that by?" He asked as he typed

"Jhene Aiko." Mia answered

The soft instruments begin to play and it was indeed soothing and mind relaxing but every time a contraction came in it was hard to focus on it. Jhene Aiko's voice itself is soothing, but this song itself has always been my go to song when I need to put myself back into a better headspace—it'll forever be my favorite.

He turned it up and sat the phone next to my ear. He rubbed my hair that was in some box braids I got done last week for this moment.

When the song ended I requested he replay it and he did.

Dr. Greene came in with a smile on her face. She checked to see how much I've dilated, which was uncomfortable itself.

"I think you're ready." She smiled

I begin to get butterflies, I'm really about to finally see my well awaited baby girl.

Chris rubbed my shoulder. They instructed he put on a few things while he stayed inside, and Mia as well, since gratefully, they were allowing her to stay inside.

After she was changed she came in in all smiles.
She said she wanted to record it so I'll allow her to.

They pulled me further down on the bed and further prepared me.

"You got this." Chris whispered

"Okay, you're beginning to crown." She said and just as she said that I begin to feel the sharpest, most worse pain I could've imagined—it felt like my pubic bone was being split in half or something. My vagina is probably torn in half as I scream in pain.

Chris glanced down at my rear end to see what could've been causing me to scream so loudly, and he jumped and came back with his eyes huge.

"She's coming down." Dr. Greene said

"Just get her out of me!" I whined, with tears rolling down my cheeks.
