130 ] Something to Report

Start from the beginning

"You're right, maybe we didn't think it through."
Thoma mumbled.

"Well, you guys didn't go our and see the demons in the towns,"
Ray told them, coming up to my side.

"No matter how much you hate someone... there's always a side of them that you can't even imagine,"
Sandy said softly.

"But I hate demons! I understand what Emma and Ray are saying. And I don't want to kill your friends Sonju and Mujika, but... but!"
Gillian clenched her hand into a fist and I frowned slightly.

"I care more about everyone here than the demons!"
she said, looking at me.

"The enemy won't give us mercy. I want to protect my friends, first and foremost!
To do that... even if they're kids or babies... I would... I would...!"
Gillian said, shaking.

I left Emma's side and wrapped my arms around her.
She leaned into my touch, shaking.

"Why? Emma you were almost killed by demons recently,"
Gilda said.

Gillian clutched onto me.
"Don't go..."
she muttered.

"Gilli-"
"I can't lose you... I can't lose anyone else, but importantly, I can't lose you,"
she told me, not looking at me as her head was buried in my shoulder

"She's crazy. I couldn't see her point of view at first either,"
Ray said.

Gillian glanced at me, giving a smile.
"B-But... be careful, come back safe,"
she said softly and I smiled, hugging her tightly before she went back to Paula.

"But this is who Emma is,"
Don then spoke up, I turned to him.

"Don..."
Emma muttered.

He smiled brightly.
"It's fine. Go ahead,"
he said.

"Don!!"
Gilda exclaimed.

I smiled brightly and hugged him tightly.
"Thank you, Don!!"
I said.

His face turned bright red and he patted my head.
"It's n-nothing,"
he muttered.

"So... w-we're talking about Emma, Y/n, and Ray. You three must have thought about it a lot before deciding. Of course I'd rather avoid risk of going to the Seven Walls, but...
I don't disagree with Emma's I-ideals..."
he said, and I let go off him, nodding.

Don's face turned to pink, then to normal.
I chuckled, taking my side next to Ray.

"Most of all... the choice we won't regret, even if it's risky... is the freedom we've always chosen as escapees, right? And she's not going to listen even if we try to stop her,"
Don smiled.

"But... there's no need for you to be in a dangerous situation. It's a really dangerous path.
And it's not like you have to take it. So why/ Why does it always have to be you?"
Gilda asked Emma, I smiled softly.

"I'm sorry,"'
Emma said, hugging her.

"Sorry I keep choosing these paths. But this is the only choice I can accept for myself.
And also... this time it's not just that. I don't want Norman to kill himself anymore,"
she said, pulling away from the hug.

"huh?"
"Norman?"

"Y-Yeah.. he's doing the same thing again, well trying to. Like he's throwing his life away or just simply throwing it away. But... he's killing his heart bearing everything to finish this for us,"
I said softly.

"Emma, Y/n, and I won't go along with that. his shipment. Our escape.
He probably thinks that was the only correct answer, the only way to success,"
Ray said.

"But it wasn't success at all. Everyone worked hard... and it's not done yet, but...
At that point, when we let Norman go... the escape wasn't a true success."
Emma said.

"I don't want to feel the same pain again, I don't want him to go through that again.
This time, for sure, I want to prove to Norman that "We don't know until we try.""
Don said.

"And this is again my selfishness."
"But for that reason, too, we want to go to the Seven Walls."

"To confirm the possibilities. We'll come back as soon as possible.
Before Norman orders the killing of the demon Royal family and the aristocrats,"
Emma said.

"But just in case the worst happens, choose the path that you won't regret,"
Ray said, patting Thoma and Lanni's heads.

"And please take care of Norman,"
I added.

"No way. I don't want to hear of the worst happening.
You have to come back alive. Even if it's a lie, promise me you will,"
Gilda said.

"I won't lie. But I will promise,"
Emma told her.
"I'll come back safely, no matter what. I'll come back."

"Got it! Leave this place to us! Go and do what you need to do!"
Gilda told us.
I smiled and hugged her tightly.

"Okay, everyone. We're going,"
Emma said.

I smiled and ruffled Nigel's hair.
He chuckled.
"Stay safe,"
he told me.

"I will!"
I said.

Gillian's eyes met mine and I hugged her quickly.
I fistbumped Zack and Oliver gave me a hug.

Then, taking Ray's hand, we were ready to go.
