Gouenji POV

I was confused to why Coach Hibiki was at the hospital but...

...I have to tell her.

I turned around and started heading to Shōko's hospital room. 

*Knock Knock*

Shōko: "Come in!"

When I open the door, Shōko smiled at me and put down her book.

Shōko: "Shu-chan, what brings you today?"

"Is it wrong to visit my girlfriend?"

Shōko: "Hehe well it isn't but... how do I put this? Something feels different about today."

I frowned as soon as she said that. She seemed to notice and became quiet.

Shōko: "Is it about your father...?"

"...Yeah. I decided."

Shōko: "Decided?"

"...I, I'll stop doing soccer and become a doctor instead."

Shōko: !

Shōko looked away from me.

Shōko: "...Why?"

I frozen at how pain Shōko's voice sounded.

"I..."

Shōko: "Why?!"

"Shōko..."

I looked up to see her crying at me.

Shōko: "Why?! Why...! Why are you giving up the soccer we love so much?!"

"...I don't want to give it up either! But..."

Shōko: "But what?"

"What Dad says... I know he won't stop telling me to become a doctor, and I don't want it to effect you or anyone else anymore..."

I looked away from Shōko.

"Plus... if I do become a doctor, I might be able to let you walk again..."

Shōko: ! "...Get out."

"Shōko...?"

Shōko: "Get out."

When I look back at Shōko she avoided looking at me. I reluctantly start to leave, but then stopped when I opened the door.

"...I'll be gone to study in Germany for a while, but I'll still come back to you."

I turned to look at her but she just looked out the window. Then I left.

Shōko POV

A while after Shuuya left...

"...Idiot..."

I felt the tears flowing down my cheeks.

"I'd rather never walk again if you were to give up on soccer..."
