Chapter 38 "Cursed Coach"

Sumire POV

I came to soccer practice the next day.

Endou: "Ah! Sumire!"

When Endou saw me he came up to me.

Endou: "You're here today! Let's do our best, okay?"

He quite positive.... especially after Dad's training...

I just nodded and went to put down my bag down. Then I felt stares at me but ignored them.

Endou: "All right, let's bring'em in! Kidou!"

Kidou: "Kazemaru!"

Endou: "Good job, you two!"

Then I noticed that Fudou seemed to be annoyed. Then he started charging for Kazemaru.

 Kazemaru: "Ugh!"

He came from behind Kazemaru and did a slide tackle.

Endou: "Kazemaru!"

Kazemaru: "I'm fine, Endou. Guh..."

Kidou: "Fudou! You purposely went behin-"

Michiya: "Good job, Fudou."

Kidou: "Eh?"

Michiya: "Nice charge."

Everyone went quiet after that.

Oh Dad.... 

I watched everyone's reactions.

They're going to get the wrong idea about you now...

*At sunset*

Toramaru: "Then I'll be off now. I'll see you tomorrow."

Hijikata: "Now that I think of it, he did that yesterday too."

Toramaru left while everyone was having break. Then I saw Dad going up to Fudou.

Michiya: "Fudou."

Fudou: "Yes, sir?"

I saw that Midorikawa was watching them.

What's up with him?

Fuyuka: "Onee-chan."

"Hm? What is it Fuyuka?"

Fuyuka: "Oh well.... it's just, how was class yesterday?"

"....Normal. Why?"

Fuyuka: "I was just wondering... you can home pretty late after all."

I pat her head.

"Don't worry too much. I came home after all right?"

Fuyuka looked at me and then smiled.

Fuyuka: "Mhm!"

Then we went back to practice. Midorikawa had the ball.

Tsunami: "Midorikawa, over here!"

But Midorikawa didn't listen and went to move on ahead.

Tsunami: "Hey!"

Then Fubuki kicked the ball and the ball went out.

Midorikawa: "Guh!"

Tsunami: "Hey, Midorikawa. What do you think you were trying to do? I asked you to pass."

Midorikawa: "Hmph."

Tsunami: "What the heck? Wait right there!"

Hijikata: "Hey, Tsunami, give it a rest."
