Chapter 33 Meeting the Players

Shōko POV

I was watching from afar Raimon doing practice. 3 months have passed since Kaneko-san and my dad divorced.

Endou: "Bring it!"

Shuuya kicked the ball in the goal but Endou caught it.

Endou: "Here!"

"Hm?"

That's when I noticed a girl watching them practice behind a tree. Then I smiled.

I guess she likes soccer.

Endou: "All right, that's enough!"

Aki: "Everyone, break time!"

Shuuya: "Shōko."

"Hm? What is it?"

Shuuya: "Is it boring that I made you wait?"

I shook my head.

"No it's nice to see you play in person after all."

Haruna: "Do you know her?"

Natsumi: "No, I've never seen her before."

Everyone turned to see the girl who was hiding behind the tree. She looked away from us when everyone had eyes on her.

Haruna: "Is she a transfer student?"

Natsumi: "I haven't heard anything about that."

Endou: "What?"

Natsumi: "Um, that girl..."

Endou looked up at the girl. Then started running up to her.

Endou: "Hey, are you Fuyuppe?"

Fuyuppe?

Everyone: "Eh?"

Endou: "Right? You're Fuyuppe! It's me, me! Endou Mamoru!"

Fuyuppe?: "Who are you?"

Endou: "Can't you tell, it's me! Endou Mamoru! Soccer-playing Mamoru-kun."

She seemed to not understand but then smiled.

Endou: "Ah! Remember now?"

Girl: "Sorry, I really don't remember you. Maybe you're thinking of someone else?"

Endou: "Eh?"

Girl: "I like soccer. That's why I was just watching."

Then a man came up from behind us.

Man: "Fuyuka."

Fuyuka: "Oh, Dad!"

He seemed to be staring at Endou. Then he stare at us and the team.

Man: "Time to go."

Fuyuka: "Okay."

Then she started running up to her dad but then she turned back to Endou.

Fuyuka: "Ah... See you, soccer-playing Mamoru-kun."

Then they both left. Aki went up to Endou.

Aki: "Do you know her?"

Endou: "I thought I did... We played a lot back in first grade..."

Someoka: "She probably wouldn't remember if it was back in first grade! Soccer-play Mamoru-kun~"

Endou looked serious then everyone looked back at the two leaving.
