WHO WAS FINN COLLINS TO MAY FERNSBY? even herself couldn't answer that question. the only time they ever talked would either be small talk or conversing with the others on what the next plan was. even if she didn't know him well, he was still one of them, and the fact that he was now gone made her sick to her stomach.

when she watched clarke from a distance step back from him, and see the red stain continuing to seep through his shirt, she knew what had happened in almost an instant. hearing raven's wailing, and the crowd murmuring in shock, she couldn't take it anymore, and ran off, away from everyone else as the overwhelming thoughts took over her.

may was sitting in the grass near the east side of camp jaha's gates, she wanted to be by herself for a little while. everything about what had occurred just half an hour ago made her feel so many different emotions, mainly overwhelmed. so she looked out at the woods ahead of her, and took a deep breath of the fresh air.

when she released the longing breath, she looked down at her lap, where her arms rested. she trailed her finger around the faded self harm scars on her wrists, tracing them over and over again. may might have not wanted to really admit it to herself, but she was glad to be alive, especially since she was so sure she was gonna perish in the dropship camp.

she didn't get much more time to herself after taking a breath, as she heard light footsteps approaching her. she turned her head, seeing her mother come up on her side. may had nothing to say, so she turned her head hack around to look at the nature ahead of her.

"the commander's taking finn's body to the village he massacred. he's gonna be burned there. raven, clarke, bellamy, abby, octavia, and lincoln are all gonna go. do you?"

may shook her head at her mothers question, that was the last thing she wanted to do, she preferred to stay back and take care of the residents of camp jaha, instead of watching finn's body burn to ash. "no, i'll stay."

jenna nodded in understanding, taking a seat in the wet grass next to her daughter. "did you know him?"

may once again shook her head, "not really. but he was still one of us, y'know?" she averted her gaze from the trees to her mother's eyes, "it still hurts."

the mother understood her daughter's words, and nodded, wrapping her arm around may's shoulder to comfort the seventeen year old. she hated seeing her daughter so sad, and always went to infinity to cheer her up, even just for a moment. and she knew, that murphy made her happy. "so, john murphy, huh?"

jenna was the third person to question her about how she felt about john murphy, and that made may groan in frustration, knowing that she wasn't hiding her feelings for him very well. she looked at her mother, "really? is it really that obvious?"

jenna simply nodded, a supportive smile tugging at her lips. she thought it was nice that her daughter had feelings for someone, but never expected it to be john murphy.

"okay fine, i like him, alright?" may truthfully admitted to her mom, letting a sigh escape from her soft lips. jenna chuckled at her daughter's cuteness, "yeah, i thought so. he's got good intentions, i know that. and i'm glad you both care about each other."

may nodded her head at her mother's words before leaning her head on her shoulder, she knew a lot of her friends no long had parents, and she was just grateful she still had at least one of her parents with her.

it had been a day since the death of finn collins, a day since clarke, bellamy, and the others left to form the alliance with the grounders. that way they could figure out a way to get all of their people out of mount weather together.

jenna fernsby was in the nurses station, sterilizing surgical tools and sanitizing all counter tops. so far, jenna was one of the four residents of camp that were in the medical field. abby was no longer here for a couple days, so jenna was in charge of all surgeries.

she wasn't gonna lie, abby being gone added a bit of stress on her, but she was managing as best she could. because she knew she had to, being on earth cane with many new responsibilities and fears for the mother. never in her life did jenna think she'd be on the ground, or almost in the middle of a war. the ground was surely beautiful, but not the things that occurred on it.

the sound of airlock doors opening grabbed jenna's attention almost instantly, she expected it to be her daughter, or jackson. but instead it was murphy casually strolling into the room with his hands in his front pockets.

"mr. murphy." jenna greeted him with a casual tone, setting down the sanitized tools in the tray. she turned around to face him, and leaned against the counter to wait on what he needed, "what can i do for you?"

murphy shook his head, "nothing um—" he nonchalantly scratched the back of his neck, "have you seen may? i can't find her anywhere."

jenna let a smile tug at her lips at murphy's mention of her daughter, but pushed it to the back of her brain and answered his question casually, "outside. she was in here a couple minutes ago but she heard the rain and wanted to go check it out."

murphy nodded in response, unsure of what to say. so he turned on his heel, ready to walk out of the sensored airlock doors when jenna calling his name stopped him in his tracks. he sighed, and slowly turned around, his gaze meeting jenna's once again, "yes, doc?"

when jenna called his name it was an impulsive decision, and didn't exactly know how to get out the words she had to say to him., so she scrambled them together as best she could. "i've never seen may care for somebody the way she cares for you. don't let her down, alright?"

silence fell between the two as murphy let her words sink deep into his heart, he wasn't the type to keep such a promise like that, since he knew that he himself were even unpredictable. but jenna was right, he couldn't let her get hurt because of him once again.

to respond to jenna's question, murphy gave her a curt nod before quickly strolling out of the room, incase the doctor tried to call his name once again.
