AND SO A DISCREET PLAN WAS ASSEMBLED BETWEEN THE GROUP. bellamy distracted echo, giving may, clarke, and abby enough time to save the king from death, because so far that was the only thing in store for him.

"abby, we're running out of time." octavia whispered to the surgeon, her eyes keeping watch on all entrances incase a threat where to barge in.

"i need more time." abby bluntly stated in response, trying to dig for the bullet deep in roan's chest with a hemostat. clarke held a cloth next to the pliers to contain the minimal bleeding, and may stood to the side, awaiting any directions abby may have had for her.

as abby continued to frantically dig around for the bullet, may looked over at nini, who stood still in the corner, unsure of what to do.

"you okay?" may questioned the young girl, her eyebrows frowned in concern. what they were doing was a bit dangerous, but they had no choice to bring in nini as well, so may was just afraid of her being in such a precarious situation and wanted to constantly make sure she was okay.

in response, nini simply nodded, her body language clearly signing that she was nonchalant, the complete opposite of everyone else's feelings.

"dammit!" abby cursed, before looking to may, "you try. i can't find the damn thing."

may nodded in response and switched out abby's hand for hers on the hemostat, and immediately began digging for the bullet obviously deep in his chest.

she dug around for just a couple of seconds when suddenly she felt the pliers catch something in between. may happened to pull the bullet out successfully. "got it!" she exclaimed to the other two women beside her.

as may sat down the pliers, abby grabbed a rag and placed it on roan's wound to stop the minimal bleeding, "good job may!" she praised, "your momma would be so proud of you."

all may did was give abby a smile in return, as her mind began to consume her with thoughts of her deceased mother. she missed that woman more than anything,

abby placed two fingers on the side of roan's neck, before her face dropped with panic, "his breathing is still too shallow."

"you said his lungs were fine." clarke deadpanned.

"no, i said i thought so." she bluntly stated back to her daughter.

"a bone fragment could've lodged its way into the tissue." may added, inserting herself back into the conversation. her heart began to thump with worry as she started thinking of all ways this situation could turn out, she just hoped that in the end, nini would be safe.
