Charlotte's POV

I remained in my father's office.

I went over to his desk and grabbed my homework folder out.

I was even partners with Spencer for a science project...

I don't even want to see him again.

I picked up my pencil and began to jot down ideas for a essay.

My homework was really ironic.

For our english homework, we had to draft up a essay on Emotions, and Actions.

I decided to pick a Betrayal, I wanted to research why people betray others.

One of the ideas is perhaps they are lacking something that an individual would have.

The room was quiet.

The ticking of the clock was the only sound comforting to me.

I pulled out my math homework.

We were studying on Triangular Prisms, and volumes...

It was easy since I've studied up on that.

I stood up from the swivel chair.

I went to the book shelf.

There was this book that stood out.

Pablo Neruda - Tonight I can Write The Saddest Lines. I opened the book and a piece of paper fell out.

"Maria" I said aloud.

The note had Maria's name written on it.

I read the poem.

It was really heart wrenching...
Now everything makes sense...
Maria is my Dad's ex.

So then when did he meet my mother? I had to go see Maria.
I had to confirm everything.

How did she captivate my father.

*******

"Maria I've figured you out" I said walking closer to her cell.
But she didn't say anything.

"You are my father's ex" I continued.

"Did he tell you?" she spoke softly.

"No. I found a note with your name on it." I said.

"I guess you can see it" I gave her the book.

Then she fell down to the ground with her hand covering her mouth.

"I hadn't realize he suffered this much..." she made out.

I was infatuated with her..

But if she is the one who made my father the way he is.

I resented her.

"Why did you hurt my Padre" I cried out.

She pushed the book to the side.

"Back then he was nothing. He had no status he was just a common vampire." Maria says.

I clenched my fist.

"I was a materialist... I sought after luxury and goods" Maria continued.

"Then who did you leave my father for?" I asked harshly.

"I left.. Him for Vladmir. He was part of the Romanian coven and I knew they didn't like each other" Maria explains.

"You deserve to die! You made my father broken. IF it wasn't for my mother he would be a killing machine" I seethed.

"About your mother... she was my best friend" Maria says.

"She was your best friend... then how did they meet" I asked.

"I lied to your father about being his soulmate, I knew Athenodora was his soulmate I could feel it. I wanted everything she had. I was a lousy best friend I took things from her" Maria says.

"What that hardly explains anything at all. Are you saying my Mother had Father first?" I inquired.

"She was about to have him. But I blurted out that he was my soulmate" she continues still sitting on the floor.

"I can't even bother with you anymore" I growled then left. I wish I wasn't so curious...

I just basically pried into my father's love life..

I returned to the office.

I looked over the poem.

I felt like this with my ex best friend...

he used me.

He didn't care about me at all.

I was blinded by his sincerity...

I took a seat back on the swivel chair and put my head down and began to cry.

The feeling hasn't subdue..
