He wasn't wrong, but that could have been my soon to be pack mate. The wolves started to talk amongst themselves about what to do. Some were trying to figure out a way to escape and others were thinking about ways to trick the scientists. The wolves were right, we need to figure out a way to get out of here. We all will die if we stay here.

I turned to Jake whose head hung low with hopelessness and despair. "Jake! We need to figure out how to get out of here." I look at the other werewolves. There were four including me. They looked at me, but didn't say anything. I noticed on the other side of Jake was Leya, farthest from me. "Leya!"

She looked at me in sadness. "Sky, there's no way we can get out. We're going to die here," she said without a doubt.

I frowned. "What happened to you guys? How long was I out?" Confusion took over my thoughts as I thought of the different things that could have happened to make them all lose hope so quickly.

"Sky, you didn't see what happened to Vanessa... what they did to her," Leya spoke fearfully. "They were giving her stuff to make her like a wolf, but it caused her to shift back and forth until she died. It was horrible! She screamed the whole time! I can't imagine the pain..." Leya cried out.

I hesitated to speak. "Then we can't let that happen to us! We need to fight back. We need to escape. It's too dangerous for the pack to come and try and get us. That's exactly what Alpha insane wants," I tried to convince them, but no one listened to me.

Jake looked at me in pity. "I'm sorry Skylar, but this is our grave now."

How could they lose hope so quickly? Leya isn't like this. She's always positive. Jake is a leader not a coward. What happened? I didn't realize seeing your pack mate die could kill your hope too. I sighed and sat down and watched the wolves.

"If we are able to escape, we need to alert them that we are coming. But we can't howl, that's too loud." One of them said.

The one across from me replied, "it seems that is the only advantage werewolves have. Think about how useless they would be without their telepathic communication." It turned and glared at me.

"Rock, chill out. The only werewolves we need to focus on killing are the ones caging us." The other werewolf stated.

Rock rolled his eyes. "Either way, they all should die. Do not start defending them, Range."

"Those ones are in the same situation as us. All they want to do is survive, like us, so chill out brother." Range snapped.

Without warning, those same scientists came into the room. "Which one next?" One of them asked and they surveyed us.

They walked in front of my cage and looked at me like I was in a zoo. I showed my teeth and growled. One of them smirked, "save her for a later trial. She's the only one left with the heart to live. The rest look like they're already dead. Just do the female next to her."

Two of them opened the cage next to me and cornered the girl. She tried to fight back, but her fear took over her senses and she had no strategy to her attacks. The scientists were easily able to hold her down and inject a substance into her. Once their job was done, they walked out of the cage and locked it before observing what happens to the girl next.

The girl seemed normal at her. She was crying and looking confusedly. However, she suddenly cried out in pain. Her bones broke and she shifted into a dark grey wolf. But even in wolf form she was still screaming in pain.

"What did you do to her?!" I screamed at the scientists. They ignored me and continued to watch. I saw most of them, except for one, looked at the girl in pity. Did they want to do this or were they being forced?
