Colby had to go back on the road the following week to finish out his last full schedule, Rebecca flew back to Iowa to pack as much as she could in the suitcases and packed a few boxes of toys for Holly to mail over but other than that the rest of the house had to be left behind.

Colby would still be staying there when he was in town so it wasn't completely emptied out but she couldn't help but feel a little emotional as she looked around the living room.. this home held so many good memories..

Like 8 years ago...

Colby carefully carried the carseat into the house and sat it in the middle of the living room floor, Ella was awake and looking at her surroundings with an angry expression. She hated her carseat and was on the verge of screaming her lungs out the entire way home.
"She's home" Rebecca said as she sat on the couch carefully, she was still very much sore and not wanting to move too much if she wasn't needed
"She is" Colby nodded "Now the fun begins" he said

She walked up the stairs to the master bedroom and looked around, thinking about the first night home with Ella..

The night was a difficult one, Rebecca and Colby were awake every hour. Between feeding and changing Ella she was awake and wanting to be held and would cry until someone picked her up. It was 6 in the morning when they were wide awake sitting in the middle of their bed and Ella was sleeping peacefully next to them
"What time is it?" Rebecca asked and Colby rolled over slightly
"6:03" he said sleepily "Did we sleep at all?" he asked "Because I honestly don't remember" he said
"I don't think so" she said "She's been asleep for about 2 hours now" she explained
"We should have been sleeping this entire time"
"I tried" she stated "I couldn't get fully to sleep because I was waiting for her to cry" she said and he nodded and as if on cue the baby began to cry again
"Good morning mommy" Colby said as he sat up with a laugh and Rebecca took Ella from her cot
"Colby" she glared at him as she began to feed the newborn and he got up out of the bed
"Yeah yeah, coffee.. I'm on it" he said with a wave of his hand

Walking into the twins nursery she thought about the first time she finally realized she was actually pregnant with twins..

She was about 24 weeks along at that point, they had began to work on the nursery the previous week..

It wasn't until she walked into the room and saw the two separate cribs sitting side by side that it finally clicked officially.

"Wow.." she said in a whisper and Colby looked over at her
"What?" He asked
"It's just really real now.." she shook her head "there's actually two of them.."
"Well yeah, that's just now hitting you? You are constantly telling me how they're fighting with each other already" he laughed
"And they are" she nodded "but I don't know I guess the visual of two cribs just made it that more real.." she shrugged and he placed a kiss to her head

It was off to new adventures and new memories, she hated leaving this house in a way but she was so ready to back to her home.

They got settled in that week that Colby was gone, the girls adjusted well to being in a new country and house, they loved the pool and the yard they could run around in without a care in the world.

Colby had been back a whole two hours when the girls finally detached themselves from his legs and began playing in the living room together, leaving their parents alone in the kitchen.

"We have to go pick Ella up tomorrow" Rebecca said and Colby nodded
"We'll be there at 8AM sharp" he said
"She will probably still be asleep at 8 in the morning, it's Saturday" Rebecca laughed
"Well you better be telling her tonight when you talk to her that she best have her little butt in that car at 8 in the morning" he said and she shook her head as she placed the dish full of vegetables in the oven "I don't think I've ever seen you like this"
"Like what?" She asked as she leaned against the counter
"Happy" He said as he walked to her "genuinely happy all of the time"
"I've been happy before Colby" she shook her head
"Yeah but not like this, there's something different in your eyes, you're content now"
"I'm home" she said in a whisper "I've got my family together for the most part and I'm in a beautiful home, I've got everything I've ever wanted in life right here" she said in a whisper and she felt his lips capture hers as his hands grabbed her hips, lifting her swiftly and sitting her on the counter as she wrapped her legs around him to hold him in place

Ava ran back into the living room as quickly as her little feet could take her
"Ew!" She said and Olivia looked up at her
"What wrong?" She asked innocently
"Mommy and daddy kissing in there!" She pointed towards the kitchen
"Ew!" Olivia exclaimed as she stood up from her toys and the two ran together towards the kitchen
"Mommy no sit on the counter!" Ava yelled  and the two broke away quickly and tried to catch their breath
"That's a no no!" Olivia exclaimed
"Yeah Mommy no sitting on the counter" Colby said as he backed away from her and Rebecca's jaw dropped
"You put me there!" She said to him and he smirked
"I didn't see you protesting it" he fired back and she opened her mouth to speak again but quickly realized she didn't have a defense "oh my god, girls go write this down somewhere, Mommy doesn't have a comeback for once" he laughed
