October 24th  - 28 Weeks

Colby walked into the living room of his home and saw Rebecca sitting on the couch in the same spot that he had left her hours ago when he went to the school to teach a class. She was still sitting there staring at her phone, tossing it hand to hand and then putting it down on the coffee table and just looking at it in silence before picking it back up and repeating the process.

"Rebecca" he said and she looked up at him and he flashed a small smile as he walked over and sat next to her on the couch "Just call her" he said

"No" she shook her head "I don't want to call her" she said shaking her head

"Yes you do" he nodded "If you didn't want to call her, you wouldn't be staring at your phone and debating like you are"

"She doesn't deserve me calling" she said and he shook his head

"She's your mom Becks, she misses you"

"Have you talked to her?" she asked as her eyes widened and he shrugged "Colby! We said no contact!" she exclaimed

"I'm sorry, but I can't just let your mom go to voicemail and not tell her anything" he said "Trust me I've tried" he said "but she scares me a little bit" He admitted and she laughed slightly "Plus then I started thinking about our daughter" he said and her eyes met his for a moment before she looked away "What if we are in this situation in the future? What if we don't agree with her life choices? She leaves and we have no contact with her or any idea how she is doing during such a vulnerable and difficult time.. I wouldn't want that, you wouldn't want that" he shook his head "You're going to be a mom soon, hell you already are" he shrugged "Put yourself in her shoes" he said and she stared at him silently for a moment

"Ugh!" she groaned as she stood up and began to walk out of the room

"Going to call her?" he asked with a smirk

"Yes" she grumbled

"Gonna admit that I'm right?" he asked and she shook her head

"Never" she said as she left the room and he let out a laugh

She hated to admit he was right.

The phone rang and rang and rang as she waited for her mother to answer, She was beginning to doubt that her mother was even going to answer. She'd ignored her for months, why should she answer her now?

"Rebecca?" she heard her mother's voice for the first time in a long time and she felt relief and just peacefulness wash over her and she smiled slightly

"Hi Mama" she said in a small voice

"Oh my dear" Annette said "I've missed the sound of your voice" she said and Rebecca could hear the smile in her mother's voice and it made her tear up

"I've missed you too mom" she said in a whisper
