After that one day at the park, for the first time, Soobin experienced what it was actually like to have someone just be naturally drawn to you and appreciate your presence. Though he had been in a dodgy state of mind before having met Yeonjun, something about the short, blue-haired boy put him at ease and in the end, it had been a happy day. They had successfully reached the park and after sharing some small talk, an oddly comfortable silence had hung on to the atmosphere.

Though Yeonjun hadn't asked any intrusive questions about him, Soobin could tell that the boy had taken an interest to him because of the way Yeonjun would hang on to his every word and would look at him with full attention during the small conversations they had had. Soobin had been in an awe to find Yeonjun so naturally be drawn to the likes of him but had refrained from making haste in their friendship as to not awaken false hope within his own heart.

After having spent the day just idling about in the empty park which seemed to have stopped in time and had remained unchanged from Soobin's memories, Soobin had felt a bizarre contentment that he hadn't felt in a long time. Yeonjun had asked for Soobin's contact details with hopes to spend more time together on the coming days, the latter had complied, feeling flattered but trying his best not to hope for much.

That day, after reaching home, Soobin had smiled at himself in the bathroom mirror, feeling a pleasant sentiment looking back at his day. Though Soobin had spent the whole day trying not to get ahead of himself, he had then looked at the smile on the reflection and had whispered to himself, "Please let Yeonjun like me, please let him stay."

Maybe it was the "Yeonjun effect," as Soobin called it, maybe it was the waves of happiness that had reached the lonely shores of Soobin's heart after a long time, but even dinner time with his negligent mum and step-family had felt enjoyable. That night, sleep had come easy to Soobin and for the first time in years, he had a dream. He dreamt of a sunny day, filled with laughter and a few other peers too, who he saw himself sharing the happiness with.

The next day, Soobin had woken up to quite a few texts from Yeonjun, smiling to himself, he read them all.

C. Yeonjun: Good Morning! :D

C. Yeonjun: Don't you think it would be sweet if we hungout today?

C. Yeonjun: Jk...unless?

C. Yeonjun: You're still asleep, right? -.-

C. Yeonjun: Oop

Soobin checked the time it had been when Yeonjun had sent the texts, "Wow, what kind of crazy dude wakes up at 6 and starts texting someone the first thing in the morning," Soobin thought, chuckling to himself.

C. Soobin: You wake up awfully early, my guy.

C. Yeonjun: "my guy"

C. Yeonjun: Just because we share the same surname doesn't mean we're married, bub

Soobin felt slightly flustered at the text but decided that it wasn't the time to act upon his homosexual tendencies.

C. Yeonjun: Wow, what's the deal with ending the sentence with a period, y'all mad?

C. Soobin: What.

C. Yeonjun: Stop doing that T-T

C. Yeonjun: You sound so ominous! >.<

C. Yeonjun: Yeonjunnie scared :(((

Soobin smiled to himself, finding Yeonjun cute, and being pleasantly surprised to find out that the boy wasn't as shy when texting.

C. Soobin: It's literally just correct grammar.

C. Yeonjun: But this is literally just a casual convo -_-

C. Soobin: I don't even know what to say to someone who's too lazy to type out "conversation."

C. Yeonjun: Don't bully me!! >.<

C. Yeonjun: Anyway, you free to hangout today? :D

C. Soobin: Sure, just tell me when :)

C. Yeonjun: Awww, Soobinnie with emoticons is actually so cute, my heart is deadass about to perish T-T

C. Yeonjun: Anyway, see ya soon! :D

C. Soobin: See you :)

Soobin couldn't help but smile thinking of the conversation he had just had with Yeonjun. "Soobinnie," something about that nickname made him instantly breakout into a smile. With such a start to the day, he just knew that he would be having a good day.

"I hope we become closer friends as the days go by. If Yeonjun's there, I think I too can enjoy my life a bit," Soobin thought to himself.

And so they did, they would meet up almost every day, hang around some park or the public library, often exchanging opinions on various subjects and having random conversations. They grew closer, but didn't yet delve into conversations regarding each other's pasts and family backgrounds. Soobin grew to be happier, but also often got scared of one day losing his friend that he had now started to hold so dear to his heart.
