Eliana set up her tablet on the ledge above her keyboard. She's always did covers and posted them. She wrote songs but none were as personal as this. She feels like her heart is gonna explode. She pressed play and the live began. She played the start of the melody.

Straight hair, straight A's, straight forward

Straight path, I don't cut corners

I make a point to be on time

Head of the student council

She sung while memories flashed through her head. All of them contained her. That girl. Sage.

I don't black at parties

I jam to Paul McCartney

If you asked me how I'm doing

I'll say... well

She was the new girl and Eliana was the queen of their prep school.

I was adopted when I was two

My parents spoiled me rotten often

I ask myself what did I do

To get as far as I've gotten

Sage walked up to her one day and they instantly became friends, even with Eliana's crazy busy schedule to keep her place at the top.

A pretty girl walks by my locker

My heart gives a flutter but I don't dare utter a word

'Cause that would be absurd behavior for 'little miss perfect'

Something about Sage drew Eliana in. One look at Sage and she could barely breathe. Her heart raced and the first time it happened she swore she was having a panic attack.

Na na na na na no

I can't risk falling off my throne

La la la la la love

Is something I don't even know

She knew one wrong move everything would come crumbling down. Her parents would be disappointed and she would lose everything if she ever was more than just friends.

Straight hair, straight A's, straight forward

Straight girl

'Little miss perfect'

That's me

Sage and Eliana did everything together. It wasn't Eliana without Sage.

One night, my friend stayed over

We laughed, and drank and ordered

Something about her drew me in

What? It's totally platonic

Her eyes sparkled in the soft yellow light coming from the lamps. She danced around to the music playing in the background. A bit of her stomach showing that wasn't covered by her skinny jeans and crop top.

That night was so exciting

Her smirks were so enticing

Hours speed by like seconds

Then what happens is iconic

It was getting later and later as they were getting loopier and loopier off lack of sleep.

She takes a sip

I bite my lip

She tells a joke

I nearly choke

She braids my hair

I sit there, blacking out for the first time

She keeps getting lost in Sage's sparkling eyes while she tells stories. Everything Sage says is interesting to Eliana. She catches Eliana's looks and slowly leans in. Sage's eyes flutter shut as Eliana kisses her slowly.

Next thing I know

I lose control

I finally kiss her by oh no

I see a face in my window

Then my brain starts to go

Eliana pulls away and looks at the window  behind Sage. She sees her reflection staring back at her in shock. She sees all she's worked for crumble and fall apart around her. She's sees her parents standing behind her in disappointment. Sage is flustered and awkward. She runs home and doesn't see Eliana until school.

Na na na na na no

You can't risk falling off your throne

La la la la la love

You don't even know

Na na na na na no

You can't risk falling off your throne

La la la la la love

You don't even know

Sage finds Eliana at school by her locker. Panic quickly bubbles in her stomach as Sage tells her she doesn't feel the same. Eliana convinces herself she's confused. She's perfect, at the top, she can't mess anything up.

Rewind, induce amnesia

Deny the truth, it's easier

You're just confused

Believe her when she tells you there's nothing there

It's never worth it

When you're 'little miss perfect'

She finishes the last note and sighs. Tears slowly slip down her face. She ends the live stream and exhales. She grabs her phone and wipes the tears off her cheeks. She calms down until something catches her eye.

"Hey, it's Sage. Can we talk?"
