The knocking was persistent and all Ava wanted to do was write. She opened the door and saw her best friend standing there. Mascara mixed with tears ran down her face. The girl she grew up with but hadn't talked to in two years. She hugged Ava. Something that she instantly melted into. They went inside and sat on Ava's couch. The crying girl's phone went off.

"He says he's sorry." She said.

"Cami, don't. Its only gonna make you feel worse."

"Shit, my phone died. I need to borrow a charger."

"I'm not giving you my charger."

"Ava, he's gonna be pissed if I don't respond."

"So? Let him be pissed. He's not worth it. Here, I'll turn my phone off too." Ava pulled Cami closer to her. Cami rested her head on Ava's shoulder. "Let's go on a drive."

"To where?"

"Anywhere. Come on. Trust me." Ava pulled her off the couch and they went to her car. They drove around singing along to the radio at the top of their lungs, just like old times. They found a park and walked around until the sun went down. They talked and laughed about what happened the past two years. About how much they missed each other. They talked like the last two years didn't happen. They got back to the car once it was dark and freezing outside. They wrapped up in the back seat in a blanket.

"Thanks for taking me out today." Cami finally said.

"All you have to do is call me." Ava said, "Why didn't you call?"

"I've just been busy."

"Busy?" Ava scoffed.

"What? I have."

"Come on Cam, we used to see each other everyday. We spent every waking hour together."

"Yeah, I guess I've just been preoccupied."

Ava nodded, "Right, yeah."

"He was super jealous of you."

"Who? Jackson? Why would he be jealous of me?"

"I don't know. He was the one to tell me I couldn't see you anymore. I'm sorry. I honestly was so scared."

"Of what?"

"What I feel for you, Ava."

"All this time?"

"Yeah, and I had to ignore it because I had a boyfriend."

"Cami... you never have to be scared with me."

"Yeah but Jackson-"

"Jackson's gone." Ava pulled Cami close and held her. Cami sat up and looked into Ava's eyes. Slowly she leaned in, hesitation holding her back a little bit. They got a little closer and closer until Ava kissed her. A kiss that was filled with two years worth of love and passion. A kiss that would mean everything.
